Michael Jackson feat. 50 cent - MONSTER - its the real deal says 50 -READ!

I am sorry, but usually I always bring positivism and defend Michael Jackson and his projects. After being a fan for 25 years and having listened to Michael every day, I swallowed my pride and said to myself ok, maybe it is Michael singing on "Breaking News", but when I heard "Monster" I again had the same impression to hear Jason Malachi!

I also heard "Do you know where your children are" and "Another day" I had no slightest doubt about the authencity. But honestly, I can't believe anymore that Michael sings either Breaking News and Monster. Although songs are good and catchy, the singer does not sound as Michael, but as an imitator.

The voice sounds not as powerful as Michael's, it sounds a bit choked and the timber isn't Michael's. On top of all that, time after time melodies and the the way the high notes are reached makes you think of Jason Malachi's songs. I can believe in one coincidence (Breaking News), but not two coincidences, and even less a third one if there is one. And from what I have read, these recordings come from Cascio. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark!

Bumper Snippet, give it a chance. I haven't seen you on the forum for several days now.
Well, if you had read through all of the recent threads you would have found things that possibly would have made you give it a chance. But now you come falling in here speaking the same words people did a week ago... . Or else I am mistaking and you, after reading all the arguments (real and unreal) for both possibilities, you stay with your first thought.
Anyway, many people have changed their minds.

Peace.

with all due respect, these are just words. remember Erin Brockovich? that movie was based on real life events, when a lot of people got together (none of them was rich) and sued a huge company together and won. And it's not a single case on the US history when it happened, there are a lot more.

So if you are really that sure it's not him singing, you can either continue complaining on forums (where it's totally pointless and won't bring anything but more arguing) or do something about it.
Don't you think that'd be taking it too far? Nobody wants to get into a legal battle over some questionable songs, especially since there is no proof. We have other things to worry about in life.

Its been a while since i've complained about the vocals being fake. I'm way past that. I've just simply been expressing my opinion. It honestly doesnt bother me much anymore.

sorry, I meant "you" as all the fans who think this way :)

I am also past bothering about these things. I think we all had time to make a decision about this and it's pointless to argue.

And I wasn't arguing, by the way. Just reminding people of legal actions they could do :)

If people really cannot believe the vocals in question are overly processed instead of fake... well, I'ld like from the deepest of my heart that Estate and Sony gets sued! Maybe then, in the end, truth will be clear for all of us.
So if anyone has the money or can collect it, sue as soon as possible (release)!
Nothing more to say ;-)

I think them being overly processed is a major possibility, but then I remember how he pronounces his words in these 3 songs, it's nothing like MJ. Why would someone "edit" his pronunciation?

I think what some people here need as a MASSIVE reality check.

Lets for a moment put aside the fact we are all fans and look at the simple facts for a moment.

Michael wasn't, it would seem, in a very 'good place' during his final years (don't jump down my throat for saying what I'm saying, hear me out!) he was clearly battling with his medication issues, his head was probably a mess given the constant legal wranglings, add to this the simple fact he's gotten older - Is it too difficult to believe that the combination could be enough for him to not have that 'spark' when recording a demo in a basic studio in someones house!?!? I mean cummon, take off the rose tinted glasses for a moment and look at things from a realistic perspective for a change, not the deluded 'everything was ok' standpoint a lot seem to cling to.

No I'm not pleased with myself for pointing this out, but I think for some a much required step back needs to be taken whilst contemplating what they are rallying for and against. Your trashing the memory of Michael Jackson based on your 'gut feelings' and so called super fan hearing.

I'm actually part of the 'fake' MJ thing but I do think it's MJ here in monster and after the whole BN outbreak I just don't care anymore there's the skip button for it, I've read all the hate for Monster well I'm just gonna say I actually do love this song!

well to whoever is really singing in the 'cascio tracks' I hope he gets credited.

For you the pronounciation is the problem? Well, if you have listened to all songs on all of MJ's existing albums you should have noticed that he doesn't always pronounce words in the same way.

What's happened here, I have no certainty, but probably the vocals were in such an early demo shape and not finished enough for a decent song on an album. Take a look at the review from Vogel from Huffington post, I think he words it very well. Me too I think it would be good to re-release the album and add the demo's.
In general I think the album is good and for the overly processed songs, they are still acceptable for being important for history of Mike as a creator. I welcome them.

True, I was away for weeks. I didn't want to take part in any discussions and didn't want to be influenced. So I simply took some distances.

Yesterday, I heard Monster, and I just couldn't believe that again I had the same impression of not hearing the one that I have been listening to for years.

I simply expressed my opinion as an experienced fan without disrespecting anyone's other opinion.

The song is cool, and I am not boycotting the new album. I will buy it. But with a heavy heart of not hearing the same voice as in "Do you know where your children are" or in "Another day".

That is what we are dall doing, aren't we? We are down to earth. If all the arguments you put forward were true (illness, medication, age, demo recordings, etc) we are asking ourselves why the heck would you put such unfinished songs on a brand new album after ten years of studio absence knowing very well that there are many, many, many more finished songs in the vault. We know how Michael was a perfectionist, so why putting him on a studio album with all the weaknesses you numbered?

1. No one has claimed to have 'super fan hearing'. People have just said they are sure it's not MJ, and people have said they are sure it is.

2. MJ had his troubles, sure. That might explain the lack of releases in recent years, but it wouldn't change his voice to be unrecognisable.

3. The number of fans who are doubting the legitimacy of these songs is not insignificant. There is a list of fanclubs against them. That's an awful lot of 'gut feeling'. Sony and the Estate also seemed to think the songs warranted a completely ridiculous level of justification.

4. I suggest you start respecting an opinion on these songs which is shared by many. You don't have to agree with it, but please just accept that this is based on what we're hearing, rather than what we've been 'brainwashed' to believe. Give us fans a little bit more credit than that.

I was hoping to leave this subject alone, but people still keep pushing it.

It's Okay, I understand Bumper :). Yes, it is not the voice we are used to huh... and I thought from the start and I have read others confirm it too, much is due to processing, for the state of demo vocals was not finished and, as well, Michael's voice itself has changed a bit with age, but of course he had still a wide range... His voice variety is incredible :)! The vocals were not finished enough I guess.
Now I saw yesterday a video (somewhere on this forum) that shows in diagrams what one can do digitally with a voice, vibrato and so on... amazing but also frightening ;-). It convinced me even more of the processing thing. But I am not God, I could be wrong in the end. Anyway I think the chance that vocals are sung by Michael is very real, I chose to believe that option.

Many fans always say "we", the "we" feeling... they don't speak for themselves.
Much in the things you say show it too.
I noticed that on "the other side" people don't use that "we"-word so often? I even don't remember reading it... but it can be that I am biassed.

And for your last point, I don't know who started the snowball rolling again...

Well done, you caught us out! Who knew one little word would blow open our conspiracy.

First message "post leak": I gotta say Teddy Riley did some miracles here. It's really listenable. I enjoy a lot. The sound is very modern (sounds like a 2010 song)

Many of you are hearing new changes in the song and others as well. It seems Sony released the snippets to judge what people thought, and then fixed the songs. This sounds like a good strategy to me.

It's conniving IMO.

The new version has some vocals that sound - to me - even worse than the leaked version. Breaking News, on the other hand, sounds better. Keep Your Head Up is about the same.

I actually like 50's part, but the rest just really kills my enjoyment of the track. Regardless of the vocals, its a track Mike's done before, and I feel the others versions are better, especially after the live version of Threatened in This Is It has me revisiting some of those types of songs.

I just recieved the first complaint from the person who lives under me.

I hear it too loud she thinks!

50 cent sounds so different.. his is the same but his styling is completely different he wasnt joking wen he said he adjusted himself to the sound etc..

"The King has Risen............"

I want 50'ts rap verse......anyone got the lyrics?

It's so weird to read the reactions to this song when I haven't heard the song myself yet. It's so diverse, some say it's that good, a sure hit, others say it sucks. Mmmm... I'll know next Friday :) The snippet sounded promising though. MJtunes seems to not be playing Cascio tracks :(
