Janet on the AMA's

Sadly they almost did not mention Janet on the tv-news (if she wasn't his sister they probably would not even have mentioned her performance) and some channels even completely ignored the fact that MJ has won 4 awards. Business as usual. Just ignore the Jacksons

:lol: good one. I'm pretty sure they were all playback. They just dropped the pitch on a couple things to make it sound different. The only thing that didn't sound lipped to me was 'whoo' and 'come on y'all'. She even mimed let's dance. :mello:

Janet toured only last year. They scrapped the 2009 leg cause it didn't look like tickets were gonna sell but still... it's not been years.

Together Again, What Have You Done For Me Lately and Make me were live. I don't care if you think otherwise. She sang those songs live.

She was going in and out of lipping through the whole performance.

And don't act like MJ didn't lip sync. He lipped all the time.

Some of the earlier stuff had new pre-recorded vocals, though.

Listening to the audio of her performance. She was singing "Make me" and "Together Again" to a backing track. Like I said, she was going in and out of singing live. The whole performance wasn't live. Which is understandable since she was dancing a lot.

That's what I thought too. As for her performance I think she did well (not as good as some past performances but still alot better than anything else they had on that night). And I loved that she did together again. Is it just me or did seem like she was struggling not to get emotional in her together again perfomance which is why she started adlibing and getting the audience involved so she didn't have to sing it with all the focus on her. I'm probably just reading too much into it!
 
You know what I really liked about Janet's performance? Is that she was/is and always will be classy. I may not have agreed with a lot of her music (the raunchy stuff) but as a performer she always does a great job.

I saw the performance on the AMA's and I thought her energy was a bit low.. But she did a great job. I look at the younger performers and all they do these days are take off their clothing for shock value... Janet is about the only female in the game that can have her clothes on and still make the fellas drool, while Beyonce and the rest are all tramping around in leotards and dancing like burlesque brothel women :lol:

And Janet made me cry during Together Again. She was singing to Michael!!!
 
That's how I felt that she was singing to Michael too with Together Again. I wasn't expecting that song from her for some reason. She didn't say his name or there wasn't a picture of him but I think it was obvious who it was for. That was the part I liked the best.
 
I think it was mostly from What Have You Done For Me Lately? Janet fans can correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as I regonized it there were many little elements of a few songs, but the melody of the intro is new. But I just hear part from "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and "Control"... but I think there are at least 1-2 more songs in it.
