Janet on the AMA's

I thought Janet was amazing but yeh the crowd sucked! The crowd were better at the vma's but still it was a great performance :D

I wish the crowd was more like the ones I remember seeing at Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary. Anyone remember how incredibly hyped they were!?
"Can you feel it! Can you feel it!? CAN YOU FEEL IT!! Woooot!":wild::clapping:

I just saw it and I liked it :mello::wild:
I think she gave a great performance, her dancing was good, and she had a great energy, is too bad the audience was lame. And at least she didnt

And the last song juts made me

OMG! That gif...

It kills me everytime...

Sorry Jenny... -_-

I do not hate Janet but I will not say I liked her performance just to be nice.

If you didn't like the performance - fine.

But this message gives me as a Janet fan another impression (and you were posting similar ones on other threads)

The worst performance of the night. I do not care about playback. The problem is that the dance was awful.

Please, someone tell Janet that she no longer has a career.

Of course that's not a nice things etc and Janet fans feel offened. Just imagine this was about a performance of Michael. I bet many (maybe including you) would feel offended too.

It's not about lying to make someone feel better ...

Did Janet walk the red carpet at all? No? Haven't seen any pics, I was wondering what she was wearing...

I think 'Together Again' was Janet's subtle tribute to Mike. It was placed strategically. You would have thought the number would have ended with 'Make Me' which is her new single, but it ended with Together Again. She kept looking up to the heavens as she was singing, as if she was singing it to Michael.

I agree. She kept looking up and then she wanted everyone to sing and clap. I forgot she did this song and then listening to the words about "you are shining down on me". I kept thinking about Michael.

Stating the obvious :p

I watched it twice and cried both times. :(

I saw Janet's pofrmance and i have to say - it doesnt look like she considered her wardrobe too much lol. but it was an ok perfrmanee

Stop with the negative energy. I was reading through the thread and everything was very calm and respectful, to all. Let's keep the negative energy out. Post your opinions on Janet's performance, but the obvious negativity is not needed.

I thought Janet did Mighty fine, thank you very much. The only thing that got me was that the songs seemed rush cuz they packed so much into the segment. But to each his own, I think I'm just used to Mike's long @ss performances, lol

I think Janet did a good job overall considering she is 43. However I didn't like what she was wearing and she did look like she was struggling a little bit. But I must say, she is proof that it takes a long time before Black people start showing signs of aging.

I'm not a hater.

Yes, I'm disappointed but I'm not a hater.

I do not want to offend the fans but let's stop excuses.

The crowd was dead during Green Day but they were fantastic.

Do you think Janet was better than Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Lady GaGa, Green Day, Adam Lambert and all the rest?

Of course not.

It was not bad but the other artists were better.

So it was one of the worst of the night. Period

Janet does not sell records. Her career is over or almost over. It is a fact.

I root for that to change, but this is reality.

Am I telling a lie?

I do not twist against her.

But if you feel offended by the truth - or my opinion - and only want to hear it was great, do not worry, I'M OUT.

I do not want to fight with fans because of Janet.

Sorry if I caused any inconvenience.

She was good but the Back Drops and clothes were kinda boring. Would have been nice if there were Michaels pictures in the Back Drops when she sang Together Again but oh well. :)

I thought her performance was boring and lacked energy. I wasn't impressed or blown away with the dancing, for an opening performance I was expecting more .

The awards were very boring. No take your breath away-heart stopping performances like Michael use to give. It is the end of an era. I'm glad I was part of that era because kids today will never see talant like MJ gave us. It is sad. I didn't see Janet but I'm sure she was great considering all she has gone through.

I'm convinced Control, and Lately were live, and Make Me and Together Again were lipped...minus the ad libs of course. Those are live.

It's actually the other way around. Control and Lately were lipped and Make Me and Together Again were live.

You TRIED that!!

And you say this based on what exactly?? Frankly, it all seemed synced to me, especially Make Me and Together Again, because when she yelled out to the crowd her voice was a lot more raspy and out of breath than on the tracks which were smooth and identical to album versions. Some of the earlier stuff had new pre-recorded vocals, though.

I'm pretty sure it was all synced. Many artist prerecord vocals to use during performances, instead of lip syncing to the vocals we all know from the records. I'm pretty sure this is what she did for the AMAs.

Honestly tho what difference does it make? She hasn't performed regularly (meaning a tour) in years, she's over 40, not as tiny as she used to be (not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that because I think she's beautiful at any size!) and carrying around the extra weight does make you slower during performances. Not just her, anybody. ANYBODY. Not to mention the fact that she's been through hell the past few months with a break up and the loss of her brother. Shit, I thought she did a fantastic job it was great to see her, and I look forward to her new CD.
