Janet on the AMA's

Please don't hate...I'm just curious...

Was she lip-synching? I thought she was but it's understandable cause she was dancing...
 
O wow.. that was really good! I love Together Again, it has a whole new meaning now.

I just wish that could of been Michael performing a medley of his hits too :(
 
I was just watching Janet's performance again on youtube and I have to say that I wish she wore something different. Too much brown for me. I wish she wore a brighter color and maybe some bling, sparkly stuff. I thought the outfits that she wore in the Make Me MV were great and would have preferred those to the brown one.

But her outfit was a lot better than what Rihanna and Lady Gaga was wearing. Bondage stuff! My fave outfit would have to be Whitney's white dress. Very elegant.

I saw a few ppl doing the "If" breakdown in the audience. The crowd was hype at some parts, but for the most part it was dead. And it's such a shame cuz performers get energy from the crowd.

I'm convinced Control, and Lately were live, and Make Me and Together Again were lipped...minus the ad libs of course. Those are live.
 
maybe the crowd was "dead" because like in the other thread somewhere about music died on june 25th and it sure did..maybe they feel the same way about the other artists..lol..
but janet was great!!! can't believe it's 13 days left til I'll see her :cry: omg
 
The part where she says "Get the point.....good let's dance" made me smile.
I liked her performance and I do agree that the energy of the audience is needed for a performer to completely shine.
 
I love her performance. Great medley and 'Together Again', brought tears in my eyes. It was always my fave song and made me a fan of her ....and now it has a whole new meaning.

And I agree with everyone who are saying the crowd was kinda dead... such a shame!! So hard to jum with her? Uuurrrghh

I agree so much. Critic is not bad, but people can be too critical at this point. She isn't a robot, she's human like me and you. When I lost my grandmother I decided to work to get some distraction and surely I did mistakes but people weren't running after to tell what I did wrong.
Janet did great! And I love her, she's so damn strong and I'm so proud of her!!! :wub:

This is the last time I will see the AMAs. (its the first time in years and i felt id give it a chance this time ONLY because MJ was nominated and Janet was performing) Overall the show itself was blah. No energy. Just lights and pyrotechnics that blew me away. :timer:

Yeah! I actually used to watch awards shows every year since I was like 7 years and in recent years stop watching. I only watch for MJ and JJ cause I know they give a great show.

I always feel bad for the performers cause you have an audience of your peer's who are more so judging you and looking you up and down as competition when they perform. I mean some of the entertainers are fans but like I said the performer draws energy from the crowd.

Some of those celebs not gonna loose their cool over someone they deemed to be the competition! lol. that's why I think fans should be at the shows in the front. I do give it to MTV for that point alone. They have the fans sitting in front for those performances. (Still don't like MTV but that's another topic..lol).

Yeah But at any rate! Ms. Janet was awesome!

Trust! she was on point..it's them stuck up celebs! lol. well not all but some.

And honestly, I know we've said this before in this thread - but the crowd sucked.
I was so mad at the end when she tried to uplift Michael and asked everyone to stand up and jump they we're almost like "ohh, I'm sitting pretty comfortable right here".

They should've packed the place with the people who voted.

Ooooh yes!!! The crowd sucked so much. 'Together Again' was obviously a tribute to Michael and she wanted everyone to jump with her... but only these few... that annoyed me.

I was about to ask the same thing.....he was sitting close to Jermaine and stuff, and I know they brought a whole bunch of their family's there. Like cousins, nieses, nephews etc. EDIT: when i looked at the pic again now it didnt particularly look like he sat near jermaine etc..but in the video it did.

To the person who asked about the "Together again" song. I read years ago, when that song came out that Janet wrote it to a good friend of hers that died of aids.
 
I lost My Grand Aunt who was 96 when she died ,She died on May 29th and a Friend's son who died tragically,He was 21,He died on my Birthday July 11th and My Daughter lost a ex Classmate from public school. She died tragically too ,She was 21 and died in March, All this year.When Janet sang Together again, I was Thinking about them and Michael as well.I know there where others who died this year too,Ted , Walter. Ms. Fosett, David Carradine, Ed.2009 is somekind of year,We all lost the people we love dearly and yes we all will be together again.
Thanks Janet for doing this for the fans. I got to find a box of tissues,I'm tearing up again.

Yeah, after watching it again, it's definitely the crowd who were all just a bunch of bumps on logs.
Good on Janet. I hope I get to see her perform live some day soon.

I loved it! The dancing was good...it was fitting for the medley, and her clothes were awesome.
Better than those bondage and half-naked stuff of the other girls.:doh:

Just wish they could've done more on the lipsynch and the parts where she talked through the mic. That really was bad quality...:smilerolleyes:
Why does it always happen to the good artists where the technics have a lack on these kind of things?

I have seen several of your comments on this board and I must ask you; if you hate Janet so much, why do you still look at her performances and feel the need to come on a forum about her to dog her?

You have the right to not to like Janet, but you seem to boarder line on trolling on some of your comments. It kinds of reminds me of the stuff I see on the Youtube comment section.

Think so too. I'm a fan of Janet and I feel offened by your comments.

I think as a Michael fan you and everyone else should know better, because we also know how it is to defend Mike and how it feels to listen to such harsh, hurtful and mean comments !

I think she gave a great performance, her dancing was good, and she had a great energy, is too bad the audience was lame. And at least she didnt
