Yeah they are totally capable of it.that article from metro please dont tell me the organisers said that about jr and weisner?

Can Wiesner provide a galaxy of international stars??

Administrator seems to have given up the FB page which is filling with outraged posts. :p

If there is a tribute for Michael I want to see the well known and current people of today. People that were in the business as long as Michael. He deserves better then what is being planned or not planned. He was Michael Jackson and there was a standard. He would not want his fans manipulated because he loved and cared about them.

I would post here what I tweeted a little while ago

It's actually entertaining to watch the absurdity of this unfold

I am actually shocked at how ridiculous this is getting. So they've been plugging a press conference in London and now that hasn't even happened. We're a day before zero on the 'countdown' and we have no list of performers...

I wish I could laugh but.... Michael :(

did I miss something here guys has an announcement been made?

let me summarize :p

first we were given " Wow! we've just heard that a major, major artist with close ties to Michael REALLY wants to do it!". emphasis on the "just" part.

then they said "We will wait with the announcement until we can name the new headline act"

when complained they give us this explanation " We cannot announce until everybody who deals with and looks after all the acts has agreed everything. There are the artists, lawyers, managers, record companies, agents, more lawyers. So a simple wish by artist A to perform some of Michael's songs in the show becomes a massive negotiation with everyone over everything. This goes back and forth with changes, amendments, exclusions, riders and so on. It's like herding cats into a sack, multiplied by the number of artists. It's painstaking and sometimes frustrating, but we are perservering because we believe in this show, and we believe we will have fantastic, unique performances of Michael's music that will lift the spirits of everyone - even the naysayers on this site. So we're not being secretive, or un-candid, we just want to get all our ducks (cats) in a row (into sacks) before we announce."

Now they are saying " I know you want to know. I'm desperate to tell you. you will be the first to know, even before the press! But it will be tomorrow. Just a few more hours."

----

I'm calling it a huge BS and here's why. they are correct that a simple wish from an artist to perform would take a lot of time a lot of negotiation a lot of back and forth to finalize and make it certain. If they think they will do this in 24 hours and be able to tell it tomorrow I can only look to it and say it's BS.

And there was me thinking the negotiations should happen BEFORE you announce a concert..

It should.

I wrote it multiple times that I worked with a national band years back in my country- they were known good enough but obviously wouldn't compare to anyone international - so comparison wise they are easier and quicker to arrange stuff as they have less people and red tape to go around. Still from the day we verbally committed to a concert (such as saying we'd love to perform) to actually agreeing on every detail and finalizing the deal took days to weeks and sometimes it didn't happen as we couldn't agree on terms. and they part take in festivals etc, those performers were all determined by months in advance.

all of this just shows me an incompetence in organization of this tribute concert.

For some reason I have the feeling GL is doomed, considering their talent for this business. Now the question is, did that company have any other purpose than this event? I doubt it.

Is it Majestik and LaToya behind that facebook page? The language sounds like him or her.

Thank You for this summary Ivy.....so as far as it stands to this point...THEY GOT NOTHIN.....LMAO....:ninja:..:D

Its sad to see that they cant even put a tribute concert together for there brother.

and look to this from a perspective of an international attendee (someone outside UK)

For example I looked to New York - London plane tickets are 670 dollars, 2 nights in a hotel would be cheapest around $200 and then you have the ticket cost cheapest around $100. so it's like at least $1000 for international attendees.

Now if I'm gonna give that much money I would want to know to artists to see if it worth it and I would need to confirmation of me getting the tickets for sure so that I can go ahead and schedule the trip and reserve plane tickets and hotel rooms.

so are they only aiming for people from UK?

Not to mention those who have a job, kids, and such. Do they think people can just leave at the last minute? It shows complete disrespect for the people they target.

When you have a TRIBUTE concert, do you really just have ONE HEADLINE ACT?

I mean, for instance, if The Estate of Michael Jackson was handling this tribute and they secured Jay-Z, Kanye West, Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna, Prince, The Black Eye Peas, Ri-Ri and Usher, I don't think they would be able to call any one of those acts the HEADLINE ACT. In my opinion, they would all get "similar" billing, if they got any billing at all.

(P.S., in my opinion the list above is the type of STAR POWER the Estate would be able to pull.)

You guys remember the acts in the Remember The Time video until Michael made an appearance? Well I think their Headline Acts are something like those boring entertainers that Imani called boring!!!

It is doomed...................
It's already August. I just can't see how this going to happen.
Most of the J family are in the industry for almost their whole life.
You would think they would know better.
If they want to put out such show with many artist, they need to book them way ahead.
This is ridiculous. Next time they better work with the estate and prepare it as early as possible.

Well none of us is surprised. We all said that the timing was horrible and that they would not get big names. I still think that they never had major artists to begin with, but it is fun to watch them make themselves look more foolish.

I know that Michael will get a tribute he deserves at the right time that we will all enjoy, so everyone hang in there.
