Jackson All-Star Tribute Line-Up Revealed + Promo VIDEO

I'm disgusting at Jermaine because of the intentions. YUCK. Now if Janet done this, that's great because it would be truly from the heart FOR MICHAEL not for herself.

Although I hate this, the one positive thing that comes out of it is that it puts Michael's name and music back in the spotlight again and people would be watching it like "This is NOTHING compared to MICHAEL JACKSON"

That about sums up my view of it, makes me miss Michaela more, why God did Mike have to be murdered by that ugly evil scumbag doctor

We are being realistic. No one wants to be negative! If it was planned correctly and done the right way at the appropriate timing, fans would be positive!

You guys will see why we were worried once it turns into a disaster.

yes I agree
we don't hate Jermaine and we don't want to
but this is turning into a disaster
we only want a tribute mj would be proud of that is all

ohhhh sheeeesh I thought of going there for Michael and really cuz I want it to be a success for Michael... but no now I will not... I so don't want to hear Jermaine singing Michaels songs.
Why can't they all just sing their own stuff to honor Michael.
Already didn't like it really on the memorial but there I understood it somehow still but didn't it just make it so obvious to every ear how unique Michaels voice was and that it simply doesn't sound too well with others voices.
But please... don't even dare to think all these voices together appearing there in vienna (IF they really do appear) can do half of what Michael was able to do with his voice... and it just does sound so... well sorry but not good to my ears.

OH sheeeesh I really fear this will be not good at all... and then the children will be there and Katherine...I'm really sooooo feeling torn... I so do not want this such a nightmare for them on the other hand.

I hope this doesn't fall on its arse, for Michael and the kids sake.

While the palace in Vienna looks truly breathtaking, even some of the "sets" that were pictured appear very well done, this whole thing just seems so "iffy". How can anything be put together this rapidly plus guaranteeing that some or any of the listed celebrities will appear?

I wouldn't be as sceptical as I am about the whole thing if Jermaine had a different track record, so to speak. Virtually nothing he has ever talked about definitely "happening" in the past several years has ever come to fruition. And that's the sorry truth.

If this somehow pulls together and turns out to be a heartfelt and fitting tribute, more power to Jermaine. I just don't have a good feeling about it though, but hoping for the best.

"Jermaine Jackson defends Tribute concert...." (wed, 9th)

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2...-defends-tribute-concert-planned-for-michael/

One day after announcing some of the performers who are to headline a tribute concert for Michael Jackson in Austria later this month, the singer’s brother Jermaine Jackson denied that Mary J. Blige and Chris Brown would be unable to attend and that the concert had lost the support of some members of the Jackson family, Reuters reported. At a press conference in London on Wednesday, Jermaine Jackson said that though Ms. Blige would be at a fashion event in Italy on Sept. 26, she would fly to Vienna to perform at the Schönbrunn Palace that night. Mr. Jackson also said that Chris Brown, who in August was sentenced to probation for assaulting the pop star Rihanna, would perform at the tribute if he is given permission to leave the United States. “It’s just up to what he’s going through with his court case right now,” Mr. Jackson said, according to Reuters. “He’s definitely going to be here.” He also said that the Jackson family matriarch, Katherine, was in favor of the concert “from the very start.”

But that's exactly the point, it isn't for Michael at all. Or his fans.
None of Michael's charities are represented and the ones that are are dubious (Earth Care).
Fans are being asked to pay huge sums to attend, and not all tickets give you a view of the stage!
How can anyone say this is for Michael. This is for Jermaine & his acquantainces' pockets.
And believe me, I so want to be proved wrong.

this is fucking RIDICULOUS!!!! i thought this event would be a FREE Tribute!!! what a bunch of scumbags !!!

Is Jermaine the new KING OF POP?

Michael I miss you :( You lighted up my life with gladness, now I try to hide every tace from sadness.

Is Jermaine the new KING OF POP?

Naw he's one of these dudes that's guarding the king's castle :D

As usual, people have nothing better to do than gripe and spread their negative vibes about everything.

DuranDuran haven't you notice that all anyone does on this forum?

Jermaine can still recover this concert and make it a fitting tribute if he re-draws.

Let him step back a bit, tone down his role and get on board some other major music figure who may not necesssarily perform, but can help organise it into a fitting tribute.

Michael hires experienced people for a reason. Kenny Ortega was not there just for the fun of it, he is an experienced director.

But Jermaine wants to promote, direct and organize a global event when he has never done something on that scale that is a live event.

Not even concert promoters have the sufficient experience to handle a live event, and with merchandise being advertised, it's very clear the promoters are out for a quick buck, just like Allgood that wanted to organise a one-off global concert.
For these promoters, this is their way of being like Allgood, and they won't care much once the 65,000 tickets are sold and merchandise bought.
But live events have major challenges, lights, sound, transmission and keeping the acts in check and moving, because people will be watching and delays and any issues become magnified in a live event where people can just click the remote and change channels.

Even Michael's memorial had problems getting started, almost half an hour delay, but thankfully, it flowed smoothly thereafter.

This is why such an event needs someone experienced. There is that feeling that Jermaine is overreaching and is name-dropping even Stevie Wonder now in a way that kind of pressures people to be there.

He says, i invited my mother, brothers, sisters,
When really this should be something organised by the family, not one family member.

And he appoints himself to do a duet with an image of Michael, yet if he cared enough, he would have given his other brothers a chance since he had teh solo at teh memorial.

It has a feeling that let the world come and watch me on stage.

Promoter - does the interviews and photo shoots
Director - prepares the concert
Exclusive duet - with image of Michael

Where do the brothers, sisters, family fit in?

Anyway, let's wait, the day will come and pass.
But maybe the criticism about it being all about Jermaine will help him re-evaluate and restructure everything.

Because even AEG knew it couldn't pull off concerts at short notice and without the stars lined up and family on board, that's why they scrapped theirs.
And that's talking about a company that is daily in the business of live events, with all the material and cash at their disposal.

Instead of the MJJ Community, the name should be the "Complain, Gripe, and Trash People Community". :p

People who bought tickets have reasons to be disappointed about how bad is this event going to be organized...prices are ridiculously high and I am not buying Jermaine or whoever said 'more than half of tickets are already sold', promotors usually say this to attract people to buy even more tickets, soo means they haven't sold even half of them.

That tribute is seriously not good for future events that suppose to honor Michael...

^^^^^People here were complaining about stuff long before Mike died. It's just business as usual.

Jermaine is shady, check this out

"Check out Companies House in the UK. You will find Jermaine's Earthcare International Foundation is on there - as a registered company NOT a charity.

It is also facing being struck off shortly too and has received an official warning to that effect.

Company directors listed are Jermaine, his wife Halima and a Mohammed Yahya Rashid (age 84 years old) and all three have the same LA address.

The company secretary is Sajid Varda."

I dont know what to think but why cant it just be a loveing brother wanting to do something for michael and his fans,i must say reading though some of the comments i have been in tears with wat ppl r saying , all i know is michael loves everyone and everything and he would hate to hear some of these comments and honestly family arguy and fall out but there is a very very deep love there i think, just find it all :boohoo: xxx

So what are we supposed to do?

Let Jermaine take advantage of his dead brother and our grief & love for him so he can pay his child support payments?

I refuse to support anything that takes advantage of Michael and his legacy, and that sadly includes the contrived efforts from some members of his family.

Mary J. Blige -- Jackson Concert Denial?

Posted Sep 9th 2009 4:00PM by TMZ Staff
Another one bites the dust -- Mary J. Blige is the second big performer to deny being involved in Jermaine Jackson's Vienna tribute concert for Michael.

Jermaine claimed Mary was on board for the concert during a press conference yesterday -- but when we saw Mary and her husband/manager out last night in NYC, they had no idea what we were talking about.

Chris Brown
-- who J.J. also claimed was going to perform -- has also denied being involved in event.

I totally agree with you. I had just seen that on TMZ too, poor ol' Jermaine, he's always dreaming. I just fear this will fall apart, and look bad. Tabloids make it look like stars didn't want to do it.

I guess Jermaine still hasn't learned to NOT go out promising and promoting concerts, shows, etc. without having a firm "yes" and a signature on the dotted line from the principles involved first...

oh dear sounds like Jermaine has been dreaming up his line with Mary J and Chris Brown both denying their involvement, not looking good just when I thought the tribute was becoming abit more substancual

I only am going to follow the news about Katherine Jackson,
and Michael Jackson's children.

I don't care what the other Jacksons do.

ppl you are not gonna believe this
they said today on an Arabic tv channel that the Jackson family have picked a Lebanese singer called "hifa wehbe" to sing YANA on the tribute now if that is true then this tribute is gonna be a disaster coz this girl in my opinion is the worst singer ever

Edit: I just checked the web sit and it doesn't say anything about her so I guess its just gossip (thank god)

Yesterday Mary J. Blige's management confirmed that she wouldn't be anywhere near Vienna when the tribute concert is scheduled... It's unfortunate if Jermaine has been name-dropping for the concert without first securing the artists, but that's what it's beginning to look like.
