Invincible Voted As Best Album In 2000's Decade: Billboard Readers

YAY loove invincible!!!
And think 10 million copies with basically no promotion...to me the material spoke for itself, timeless!!

Wow, what a wonderful surprise. :)

What a way for all MJ's hard work on this album to be recognized. He never gives less than his best to make his music. This album was also always so much better than what its U.S. sales numbers hinted at.

And great job to all the fans who made this happen!!!

Holy rojfihbnfjuw!!!!! WoW!!!! Uh-mazing! Would've never guessed in a million years that an album I had to type into the "other" category would end up winning!!! WoW!!! This is truly amazing! :D CONGRATULATIONS MICHAEL!!!!

Michael Jackson has just earned an amazing accomplishment. His only album of new material this past decade was just voted as the #1 album of the 2000's. It wasn't even listed on the list of available options (you had to manually type it in). Just shows the power of Jackson's fans all around the world.

In addition to earning the #1 album of the decade, Jackson's THIS IS IT scored the #2 position in the vote for the best album of 2009.

Over 170,000 votes were casted on Billboard.com

Go MJ!

i can't believe this. why would they wait till NOW to admit the truth about this album. why were they assholes about it, while he was around??

well....You deserve it, Mike, from the first moment that the album came out.

so now, the fans know, that when an album count of sales for an MJ album are put out, they are less than the real number that sold. it was always that way, after BAD.

That's great!! :D Not sure I agree that it was the best album of the decade...Keane's Hopes and Fears is pretty darn good! (I voted for that, and then TII) ;) However, it really does deserve some recognition!

Well done people! :D

YES! Someone on face book yesterday posted their status as what was the best album of the Decade and I replied "Invincible"!:clapping: Wonder if they knew about this article? lol! But Yay! I love that album!

OMG!!! I wanna cry!!! I can't put into words how happy this makes me. Invincible is an amazing album. Finally, people are coming to their senses now, that Michael deserves that!

On days when I feel so very sad; missing him so, I take great comfort in knowing that his brillant legacy will live on.

Excellent news, yey  Finally it has been recognised, such a shame what happened with Sony at the time

People are saying they wish Michael was here to say this. But in all honesty, I dont think it would have made best album of the decade if he was here.

looking at the competition I really don't think it's that big of a privilege for MJ to get this award :(

I'm sorry if i'm coming off as negative but I don't want to celebrate till I know exactly how big this is.... For some reason something is just not registering :(

All that matters is that Invincible is finally being recognized as a great album.

that's the thing. I'm not even sure if this poll even suggests that!

I hope it does, and i hope it becomes big news BUT... I think it will just end up as a meaningless post :p

I know smooth_criminal is face palming because he explained to me how big this is but.... DAMN IT i can't put my finger on it... I'll till this story gets spread around before i celebrate i guess.

I understand what you mean.

Im happy its getting some sort of recognition, im just not sure as to how big this is either.

People are saying they wish Michael was here to say this. But in all honesty, I dont think it would have made best album of the decade if he was here.

in order for those people to vote it now, they have to have had it, back when he was around. perhaps they were envious, then, and they are guilty now, but, the fact is, they had the album then, and liked it. something inside you tells you when music is magic for many people..and Invincible was not lacking in magic. so they knew he had that good an album, then..they just weren't willing to admit it. but the ironic thing that makes that clear is, that MJ was hated, but talked about vigourously, right up to the end. and for that to be possible, his music had to be electric, right up to the end. no matter what they claim he was famous or 'infamous' for. if you're music is not electric, right up to the end, then people don't talk about you AT ALL. MJ was always talked about, more than any other celebrity in the world..one way or the other. and you knew that the negative wasn't because of any evil on MJ's part. it was because of envy on their part.

or maybe they only bought it after he died, that was the trend and it still is to be a fan after he dies

I think, if it were any artist Britney, Gaga whoever who had been no.1 we'd have been hearing about it already and people would be celebrating them having the best album of the decade. But 'Cause its MJ people are just going to put this down to his death and gloss over it. That said i'm also in agreement with the people who arent too sure he would have won this if he hadn't died, you never know what with the comeback and all, but still.

People wouldn't have cared much even if this was while Michael was here. People have the tendency of overlooking Michael's achievements since long ago especially in the US. Had it been someone else, the achievement would have been overhyped.

I love you, Michael. Miss you so much...wish you got this credit when you were alive.
I  Invincible so much.

This is good news and I looove Invincible.

The list (other than Mike) is a joke though.

that is great news... very surprising though

I voted just hoping to give Mike one last hooray - it is probably my least favourite album - and I have to admit I didn't even own it - just had Rock My World - but purchased it after hearing everyone on the board talk about it... it is better than I expected - and based on the list I see there - it is album of the decade - but the only other one I agree with is Linkin Park... maybe Britney's Circus (just for sheer fact of getting her shit together to make another album) What about Usher Confessions or Christina's Stripped both huge growth albums for both... the list seems pretty limited, no Coldplay, OutKast, Evanescence to name a few... I didn't even know who Taylor Swift and Adam Lambert were until recently... but I am old too and don't listen to radio

but don't get me wrong - am happy just the same
