Apparently there will be a memorial some time later.

The news did say that the family want to do something in 2 weeks.

That was a private memorial for close family members and friends. That was nice of the family to give out gifts to Prince fans.

The tabloids are doing the same now as they did to MJ. Today the Daily Fail had an article about Prince's alleged "drug dealer" and they represent Prince as a "pill popper". The Daily Star is trashing him too today. So it started. Same bull all over again...

SMH.
The Daily Mail is a mess, and always has been, but for the most part I haven't seen too much negativity (not saying it isn't out there though).

Started at the weekend with them using mjs name in the headline to get attention

. You read my mind. @respect77 I don't doubt you that some tabloids are trashing Prince. I'm sure they are, but I bet it will never be as bad as it was, still is for Michael. IMO the media just loves to pick on Michael. Prince will always get the better treatment over Michael with media/tabloids.

IMO both Prince and Michael were weird. Don't get me wrong, now. They were weird in a good way. Though when the media calls Prince weird. It is more in a positive way. That he was just different from the rest of us. Yet when they call Michael weird. It's in a mean, nasty, negative, way.

Like the light at the Gary house. I thought when we discussed this before we had to take it to the Michael vs. Prince thread (although these articles about death and drugs etc have nothing to do with that. )
Media just using Michael's name.

Prince's death is a huge loss. It has affected me quite a bit.

I do not think it has to be a big issue when MJ is mentioned along the side of Prince when in context.. The fact they were beloved artists that passed away it is a normal correlation.. Lets not forget that everyone here always has MJ on the mind (MJ forum) and it hits home for us because we lost him the same way Prince fans lost Prince..

It' not always a bad thing! We just be respectful and not get into the comparing thing... Just speak of the correlation with L.O.V.E.!

I read an article (I think the source was also DM) that said Prince had been taking huge amounts of drugs for decades because he had such incredible stage fright. He would be vomiting and shaking before going on stage and stuff. Puh-lease

A part of me feels bad that Prince's autopsy report will be made public because he was such an intensely private person but at least it will put all these rumours to rest (for a while). Even if it turns out Prince's death was drug related, that doesn't mean he was a bad person or that his legacy is in any way diminished.

So some media source is claiming the cops are saying its "murder" and they going after the "murderer"!. If that is the case imo the jackson family should demand mjs death case to be reopened as that was REAL MURDER IMO as both deaths are way too similar and only proves mjs death aas murder

What a Sad loss! No words! Unexpected and odd!

Yeah, flashback 2009...

Prince recently got his entire catalog back from Warner Bros and later ends up dead. Interesting!

They can hide the truth from you. But they can't hide it from God. Someday they will answer for Everything!

Prince Gains His Catalog in Landmark Deal With Warner Bros.; New Album Coming.

The legendary artist returns to Warner Bros. Records, will re-release "Purple Rain" and "other planned projects"

Prince has returned to Warner Bros. Records after 18 years with a deal that will see him regain ownership of his catalog. His classic Warner albums like "Dirty Mind," "Controversy" and "1999" will continue to be licensed through Warner Bros as part of a new global agreement.

As part of the deal, Prince's classic "Purple Rain" album will be re-released in a remastered deluxe version in time for the 30th anniversary of the album and movie. Other planned re-issue projects will follow and Prince will issue a new album too, although it is unclear if that title is a part of the deal.

"A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros Records and Eye (sic) are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship," Prince said in a statement.

Prince famously had a highly publicized and turbulent split from Warner Bros. in 1996 when he called himself a slave to the label, changed his name to a symbol, and condemned the way the major label system worked.

This deal marks a new era as the ability to terminate master recording copyright after 35 years was granted in the Copyright Revision Act of 1976 and became effective in 1978, the year that Prince's debut album came out.

Prince albums have scanned 18.5 million units in the United States since Nielsen SoundScan's inception in 1991; albums issued by Warner Bros. Records have sold 14.3 million units, Billboard calculates based on SoundScan's data.

As 2013 loomed, record label executives and artists managers said that they were unsure how copyright terminations and ownership reversions would play out as they expected a precedent-setting court case to decide whether the "work-for-hire" clause in standard recording contracts could successfully be challenged by artists. Works created under work-for-hire contracts are not eligible for copyright reversion. But privately some label executives have also said that in some instances the wiser course might be to negotiate the reversions and retain control of issuing artists' catalog eligible for copyright terminations.

In cutting what appears to be a landmark deal, Prince has chosen to remain with the label that was the subject of his ire back in the 1990's avoiding a risky and costly legal battle and still regains ownership of his catalog.

Financial terms and length of the licensing deal were not disclosed; nor does the announcement make clear on whether the artist is gaining ownership of his catalog all at once; or more likely as each album becomes eligible for copyright termination.

The Warner Music Group decline to provide further comment on the details of the deal. But Warner Bros. Records chairman and CEO Cameron Strang said in a statement: "Everyone at Warner Bros Records is delighted to be working with Prince once again: he is one of the world's biggest stars and a truly unique talent. We are also very excited about the release of new and re-mastered music from one of his greatest masterpieces."

What's odd is its not even a week since his passing, yet he's already been privately cremated... Such a hurry...

At his last party he also told people there he was feeling fine and to wait a few days before wasting prayers on him. That was on Saturday, he died the following Thursday.

They are doing everything possible to Tarnish his reputation now and make it look like it was his own fault.

Do Not believe in Lies they are going to feed you with in a media ( about drugs, hiv, flu, etc bs )

We're all know what they did to Michael. Now the same with Prince!

Prince is worth more dead than alive. He's left behind a huge vault with thousands of songs!
He's murdered, cremated and then put away within a matter of two days!

Prince was a mindful, healthy human being. He was a vegetarian, didn't drink, smoke or abuse drugs.

He talked about chemtrails, poisoned water, nwo, he was against "The System"?,
warned young artists about record contracts are slavery, etc...

And Prince was known in the last 10 years of his life as having a deep commitment to God
and spent a large amount of time witnessing at Paisley Park and trying to lead others to Christ?.

God Bless you, Prince, beautiful, kind, pure soul for all eternity.

Jesus said, "For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light."

We know the media just waiting you are not going to get the true out of them anyway.

whys it odd. His body was released to the family and if all the family/friends were there and everything was pre planned then whats there to wait for.

I do not find it odd either family was only going by Prince wishing and i agree too everybody was there no need to wait. But i see your point ppls will find it odd that it was done that quick.

No set rules but they dont hang about unless they have to.

I know it's TMZ but about legal docs they usually claim something if it really exists.

Prince's sister Tyka has filed legal docs to open a probate case ... and she says as far as she can tell he left no will.

TMZ has obtained documents filed in Minnesota, asking that she be appointed to probate Prince's estate. She's asking the judge to appoint her as a "special administrator." Under Minnesota law, a special administrator is someone who is appointed when there is no executor named in a will.

Tyka says in her docs, "I do not know of the existence of a will and have no reason to believe that the decedent executed testamentary documents in any form."
If Prince did indeed die without a will, the estate is divided equally among his siblings.

Tyka lists the people who are potential beneficiaries ... all of whom are half brothers and sisters. They are John, Norrine, Sharon, Alfred and Omar. They are all living siblings of Prince. She also says she's an heir.

Tyka then name Bremer Trust, National Association, whom she wants to serve as the official administrator of Prince's estate.
