HIStory 25 [MERGED]

i'm not sure how Michael would feel about people remixing his music but he did wanted to try different genres.

This subject has been up for debate for years.

Michael himself stated in 1997 that he opposed remixes and had to be convinced to include any on Blood on the Dance Floor, even though dozens of them were included as single B-sides from 1991 onward.

It gets even trickier when you consider his unreleased material. Michael was vehemently against having his music heard before it was completed; that's why the leaks of "Escape" and "Hold My Hand" were so devastating to him, and why he continued to work on several of the Ultimate Collection cuts long after they were released.

So, if we're abiding by Michael's own standards, it's wrong to release his unfinished demos. But it's also wrong to completely do away with his contributions and completely remake the songs, as they did on Xscape.

That's why Michael is (ironically) the more authentic project to me: they stuck to Michael's blueprint as best they could. Xscape is more polished and cohesive, but Michael feels like Michael.

I feel the diamond collection was nice expect they should of made the picture vinyls better. they don't sound too good as a picture vinyl. you might as well just buy the regular vinyls.

or they could like do it again where the vinyl are not pictures. it would cost alittle bit lesser.

they kind of did that in the past where the vinyls were smaller and you could buy them lesser. it would be nice if they re-release them. you can find a lot of them on ebay etc.

i think they call 45's. i could be wrong but yeah.
The sound quality on picture discs are usually less than regular records. They're kinda more for collecting. 45s are what 7" singles are called. 45 RPM is the record speed and some 12" maxi singles are also 45 speed. Occasionally 7" records were 33 RPM, usually storybook records.

There's 4
different main speeds for records: 16, 33, 45, 78. 16 RPM was mostly used for speeches/spoken word. There were a few other speeds besides these, but they were rare and most record players/turntables did not have them.

Yep, that’s because they have to sandwich the picture between two layers of vinyl, and then press the grooves into the clear top layer which is naturally not very thick. This usually leads to more surface noise. I’m annoyed that there are currently only picture LPs available in the official store. I’d very much like to buy high quality regular ones.

And before the old vinyl vs. CD argument comes up again: Some people just prefer vinyl records to CDs like others prefer mechanical watches to digital watches. It’s a hobby for me personally, and I love to sit down with a good old vinyl record and a cup of tea. Slows you down.

It looks like Michael liked the Refugee Camp Mix of Blood on the Dance Floor because this release had that version:

Love the color scheme, don't love the CGI-looking sculpture.

Imagine if this was legit. People would LOSE IT.

When was this picture made though? It's the first time I see it tbh. Don't saying it's legit tho, it's clear that it's not.

Not sure stumpled upon it while browsing thought i might share pretty HQ too :p

Paul Dwyer (author of the Humanitarian book) is going to celebrate HIStory25 with a live stream. This should be interesting. :)
