Formule 1

New vid! :clapping:You're gonna enjoy this! You hardly can see any interview which Kimi enjoys. I think it's one of them!

It was so much fun to watch it. I missed his voice and laugh so much.

All I could understand was Ferrari, Maserati, Fiat Stilo and Lada LOL Could you tell me in some words what they were talking about?

Watch it at 4:10!!!! LOL Kimi's swearing!!! He's like a naughty boy!

I would like to be in the reporter's place! You could see how much Kimi enjoys driving that fast and driving his passenger crazy!!! :D Watch the reporter making the sign of cross at one point!!! LOL

Here's the article regarding this:

Aww man I was just about to post the translation of the whole interview but then it disappeared!! I know you wouldn't need so perfect translaton but it's fun... Well, I'll post some parts tomorrow.

That's very nice interview anyway, thanks for sharing. It came from tv one day but I couldn't see it. Kimi is very relaxed, that's probably how he's always like, except in front of the media..

Hey, may I post it on the official forum!?!?!? The fans would goo totally crazy! Everybody adores this video because how relaxed and funny Kimi was but nobody has a clue what they were talking about....

Or I say more: I would make a subtitled video with your translation. I'd give you credit on the video. Maybe this one (so you would stay anonymus): Translation made by TheOne from MJJC. How about this one?

Aww you're welcome :huggy: You can share it on the forum and on youtube too if you want, hehe :)
As I said I did it because it's fun, it's no problem for me so don't be embarrased :dont_mention_it:

There's probably some mistakes though because I couldn't hear everything or then didn't understand what they were talking about :D

Blundell tips Raikkonen to take title:D:clapping:

Mark Blundell takes an early gamble and says Kimi Raikkonen will be champion again in 2009.

Kimi Raikkonen will win the 2009 FIA Formula 1 Drivers' World Championship - that's the prediction of Crash.net columnist and former ITV-F1 pundit Mark Blundell.

Raikkonen endured a largely torrid season in 2008 and, while he definitely had the speed to set a record-equalling ten fastest laps, he was forced to play second fiddle to Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa, who only lost out on the title by one point following a dramatic final round showdown in Brazil with McLaren's Lewis Hamilton. Despite all that, however, Blundell reckons the ‘ice-man' could come good again this year.

“I might be completely wrong here but, for some reason, I think Kimi Raikkonen might turn things around and come back stronger than ever,” MB told Crash.net Radio in his exclusive 2009 F1 season preview.
“I am going to put my money on him again for the title - like I did for 2007. Let's wait and see. I might change that prediction when it comes to the first race and when we see what goes on in winter testing!“
As for how Raikkonen performed in 2008, Blundell added that he was shocked by Kimi's form, or lack of it.

“I was very surprised in '08, because I felt Kimi would go on again after pulling the championship off," he admitted, "There was a lot more still to be done and there was no pressure on his shoulders because he had delivered. I thought he would be right there and in contention.”
“At the beginning of the season, he was up there and all was going according to plan. But then, all of a sudden, things dropped out and he went below the radar.

“On many occasions, we saw Kimi struggle in qualifying trim, but then gradually, as the race went on, you would see him and the Ferrari getting it together and coming on strong and pulling off fastest lap after fastest lap.

“But it was all too late then - that was very costly. He never collected enough points when it mattered.”

^Eeks, I can't wait for the season to start! :wild: I love your siggy!

Wow, Kinga you did a great job! :clapping:The subtitles are almost excactly on the right place!!

^^^LOL thanks! :) At the end I got confused a little bit so I left out 3 sentences.

Now, it's heading for the 2,000th view, now it has 1993! :)

Though we have a concurence. First when I saw the video, I thought that someone stole our one. But that is an other version. Quite good, I have to admit! :):(

I was thinking about I should do the same with that interview you also translated for me a while ago. You know, it was in a morning talk show after Kimi did the test for Sauber. I searched for the text in this thread! :D But I have a question. Would you please watch that video again? Because after they talking with Kimi there are 2 other occasions when Kimi was being asked but you only translated one. Where he talks about he can tell the mechanics how to set up the car. I just don't know which one was it? At around 7:00 and at 8:10 the man was asking questions to Kimi. Which was about where Kimi was talking about that he always interested in cars and what is the other one about? Please, tell me! :) Thank you!

Haha, oh yeah that one. Can you please tell me on which page is the translation, I would not like to search through the whole thread :D

Yeahl, lol :D

Hey, OMG, for some reason I didn't notice this post of yours. I was maybe so shocked and surprised that the whole conversation was in front of me in English LOL that I couldn't see or notice that post.

Imagine, I even didn't understand why you wrote "I did it again" as your first sentence. I was thinking about you refer to that old interview with the young Kimi, because then you did a great job too. Oh, my bad.

OMG!!!!! The whole thing dissapeared???!!!! OMG!:( I can't believe it... Poor Hanna, and you were so nice that you wrote down it again!!!:) I really don't know what to say: Big thanks! :)

:) It's ok. You're welcome again!

Man: I've heard that you have this skill to tell immediately if something is wrong with the car, is it true?
Kimi: Well, at the moment yes. It's not so hard to notice it and then tell to mechanics.
Man: But how do you know it? Do you just feel it or do you watch the meters or what?
Kimi: No, I just feel it. Cars have interested me since I was little so it just comes..

^ This is at 8:13.
It continues:

Man: So you have just learned to construe the car..
Woman: What happends now, we counted you’ll get back to civil after 9 days from Lahti’s sport school (army)
K: I don’t know, normal life starts again
Woman: Tell us what that is? Do you practise, heal your physics..?
K: That’s the main thing, to get to F1, no matter what you do it’s quite tough to neck and everything so..must work out hard
Woman: What’s the best move? (to strengthen neck) is there some specific sport?
K: Everything, actually. Variedly everything.. it’s pretty difficult, the best practise is driving but you can’t do that so much, but you have to be ready when you get to drive
Man: So working at gym until the final phone call from England comes. Thanks to both of you.

And this is at 6:50:

^^^yes, I meant those ones. :)

K: We already said last year and we had to go to our old team, so it didn’t start that well.

Is this means that by then they already said no to a "worse" F1 team?

Thank you very much! :)

^^^It's more than great! :)

Maybe it's true?

: Kimi and Heikki:
"Libra sign star is one more proof of similarity of both Finnish characters. Horoscope in 2009 for Libras promises good chances in sport and in financial area. Libras always easily outlive the bad times (the failures), and in 2009 will be less of it. This year should be calm (without conflicts), and anyway argue with Libras isn't really easy, because in any occasion they find the compromise."

:D

^ I hope that becomes true, even though I don't believe in horoscopes :cheeky:

Alonso unhurt in plane incident:angel:

Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso has escaped unhurt following a plane incident in Kenya.
The Renault driver's plane made contact with a building before take-off, damaging one of its wings. Alonso, his wife and the rest of the passengers and crew are fine.
"Fernando indeed had a plane incident yesterday," a Renault spokesperson told autosport.com. "His aircraft touched a building and damaged its wing.
"Fernando and his family are fine. They will be flying back to Europe today. It's apparently not as serious as some people are trying to make it sound."
The Spaniard had spent the New Year in Kenya, where team boss Flavio Briatore owns a resort.

Luca Baldisseri on the changes

Baldisserri on the many changes in the sport: ''We've never seen such a revolution in Formula 1.''

On the drastically reduced amount of testing: ''Instead of preparing for the first few races, from now till March we have to work for the entire season. Those that make mistakes have little time to make up for it.''

''Our role is to obtain the maximum performance. Nothing is done without a reason. With a reduced budget we try to obtain the same objective, but we will be forced to reset our working method to zero.''

Are there problems ? ''There are many. It’s an exciting challenge but also a frustrating one. Let’s take the Friday of a Grand Prix: it will be used as a day of testing. The drivers will be forced to test solutions that are to be used in races that are to follow. And then during qualifying and the race they’ll be driving a different car.''

On KERS: ''On the the testbench the model we’ve designed works and gives an advantage in terms of performance. We will mount it in the car and will check its reliability on track.''

On there being more overtaking: ''It’s true, it will be easier to drive in the slipstream of a competitor and, thus to overtake him. The problem is to get into the slipstream. When the cars are similar there’s a great challenge, there’s competition. When the regulations change radically it could be that it’s always the same team winning.'' Could it be Ferrari ? ''The big teams have the resources to quickly find the best solutions, but it doesn’t always happen. An original idea (from a small team - AFCA) is enough.''

On slick tyres: ''There's a lot of difference between the hard and the soft compound. It will be easier to choose between the two, but it will be harder to manage the tyre situation. We musn't forget both compounds have to be used in the race. A positive aspect is that Raikkonen feels comfortable: the car has less downforce but it's more predictable. The changes are to his liking.'' :punk::punk::punk::angel::angel:

On the return of traffic light system: ''We've analysed the mistakes made in 2008 and we've improved the system: an electronic programme will prevent a car from leaving when the fuel hose is still attached.''

Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, Spain - 20th-23rd January

BMW will test at the permanent track at Valencia after launching its 2009 challenger at the circuit on January 20th.

Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, Portugal - 20th-22nd January

Toyota will do their first test at the new Portuguese circuit which was well received by McLaren and Ferrari who tested their at the end of December. Renault will also have their new R29 at the Algarve circuit.

Circuito Permanante de Jerez, Spain - 10-13th February

Most teams are expected to attend a four-day test at the former Grand Prix circuit at Jerez in Spain.

It's more likely that Ferrari would test in Jerez, I guess. :)

Here's a useful F1 calendar for 2009 with all the races and the testing dates (so far)

Thank you.:)

Ok, I made it "private" until I got your feedback. I thought it's a big responsibility to put it up and I don't wanna make stupid things. I've sent you a mail where you can see my e-mail address. Please write me a note (or say it here) that you're about to watch it and then I would make it public for you to see. Or, do you have an account on Youtube? I'd add you as a friend.
