Formule 1

Sounds cool!

In general, Spa is the favourite track on the calendar for the majority of drivers and that is certainly the case for Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, who has won the last three F1 races at this track. In the past, the build up to Belgium always described Spa as Michael Schumacher's second home, but in recent times, it would seem that Kimi, the man who replaced Schumi at the Scuderia, can lay claim to being the current King of Spa. Last year, the Scuderia secured a convincing one-two finish, bringing its total of Belgian GP victories to fourteen. Inevitably, final thoughts return to the championship and from this perspective, it should be noted that, apart from a surprise win for Jordan in 1998, the last decade in Spa has seen the wins equally divided between Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and its closest rival for this year's championship chase.

wooohoooo Kimi has arrived in Spa! I like it when he wears white!!!!!! :dancin: Seems like they don't have such nice weather there in Belgium like we have here in Hungary... :(

 he has his backpack with him again...

yeah... He's very stylish.

If you look at the early pics when he arrived in the F1 circus he was like a little boy from the country (he was too skinny in awful T-shirts:D and remember that purple hair?? :puke:)... and now he's matured, he's wealthy and very good-looking.

^^^yeah, I remember that... arrogant....

Kimi at Spam(wathc this face he pulls haha, he's just the cutest...)

Kimi Raikkonen arrived at the circuit where he has won the past three grands prix, at around lunchtime today and had his first encounter with the media in the official FIA Press Conference, where he started by confirming that he would very much like to make it four consecutive Belgian victories.

From there it was on to the fact that the current season has not been going quite as well as the Finn had hoped for.

"We definitely haven't had all the races going the way we wanted," admitted the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro driver.

"There has been a problem, but it is not the first time and it is not the end of the world. We have been trying to fix them and hopefully we have found something now and we can get back where we should be. Things go wrong sometimes. You have bad races but hopefully now we can have a stronger weekend and get back.

"At the Monza test, we tried many things and we were pretty happy with the car, but you never know from a test. It can be a good test and then you come to the next place and it is a different circuit with different conditions. It can get back to where it was so hopefully we found something and we can be stronger, but it is too early to say. We had a good feeling from the test but we will see now.

"I think our qualifying performance should be better, because apart from Valencia, in the races,we have not been too bad speed wise but if you are stuck behind other cars then it is pretty much over at that point. If you can qualify at the front it will help big time and we should be fine. Anyhow we try to improve on all areas and hopefully that has happened."

Apart from an improvement in performance terms, Kimi also sounded confident that the engine worries were also behind him after the failure in Valencia.

"It was more or less the same issue with Felipe's engine the race before. Hopefully we fixed it. So far in testing and on the bench we have been okay and we are pretty sure that we have fixed the problem and it should be fine."

You cannot talk about Spa without mentioning the weather and Kimi was clear as to which conditions he would prefer.

"I would like it to be either dry or raining all the time. It's much easier for everybody. When it gets between those two weathers you have more luck involved. For me, anything is good, but maybe a dry race would nice."

With the Finn having slipped behind team-mate Massa, Kimi was also asked if he would have to help the Brazilian win the Drivers title.

"It could happen. It all depends on how the next races go and where we are at the end of the year, but the key thing is we race as a team. Hopefully we don't end up in this situation, hopefully I will be in the championship up to the last race."

Not bad, what he said. He always tells the truth so I hope they improved!!!:)

:dropdead: OMG! Look at this! That's what I call the piercing look... looks like if he could read your mind...

Not bad... :)

Here are the results of the 1st free practice... The weather is quite cold (15 C) but it seems to me that Kimi is enjoying Spa. The car behaves good, he set some great laps, though he ended the session 2nd behind Massa while having some traffic in his last hot laps. McLarens are a little bit off the pace, which is also good. Anyways, can't wait for the 2nd session which is due to start in an hour.:wild:

and one thing to add: Massa won't get a new engine for Spa race. They think the con rod problem won't come anymore ( I hope so...) and Kimi's car spare parts were from another series than Massa's.

^ Yay graet results!!

And now it's time for little Kimi-quiz! (I just heard this on the radio  )

1. Jenni has had a logo in her riding helmet, what is it?
2. Where is Kimi at the moment in the World Championship standings?
3. What title did Jenni win when she was 16 years old?
4. Kimi has two motorcycles, their names?
5. How is Kimi's World Championship going to be celebrated this September? (in Finland)
6. Where did Kimi's last race go according to his own words? (Ok this might be hard because it's Finnish..)

So these are the 2nd practise results... It's too bad because Kimi had an accident because the track was too slippery because of the rain which started in the middle of the practise. He lost his rear wing but was able to go back to the box. He couldn't do any more laps though. Also has got a fine because he was too fast in the pit, he has to pay 4.900 €!

Being only the 5th is not a great result but definitely he could have done better laps! Let's hope he can continue better! He doesn't need any advice he knows it by himself that he has to win!

Quite hard for me to answer...

1. I don't know...
2. 3rd
3. I don't know... maybe a beauty contest?
4. Walz Hardcore cycles
5. the stamps!!!!! (have you seen the pics???)
6. I don't know but I've heard about a Finnish cursing, it goes like this: "Perkkele"... (I'm not sure about the spelling and I don't even know what does it mean ). I'm sure he said something like this because the last race was among his worst ones...

So perkele means demon, so is it not a cursing at all? I've just heard it somewhere...

The Ferrari logo could have been an easy answer... It's a horse afterall. :)

I know that I posted pics about the stamps before just the official release of them was on Thursday. That's why I posted them with Kimi. :)

I hate Hamilton, too!:(

I was not at home during qualifying and I asked my friend to send me the results through text message. I was quite dissapointed again. As I came home I immediately wanted to read what Kimi had to say about that.

He - again - admitted that he did a mistake. I just can't believe it. There are 2 theories:

1. He always admits his mistakes while the others are not.

2. He always makes mistakes while the others are not. (which is quite unlikely because he didn't do so many mistakes in his whole career...)

I really don't have any hopes (while Kimi - of course - has) for tomorrow. Does he just say it all the time or does he feel it also that he could make it...? Knowing that nowadays his starts are far from good... I don't know what to expect at all. If Heidfeld or Alonso would overtake him at the start then he can grab his red backpack at the beginning of the race and go home.... If he could - finally - have a good start he even could overtake Kovalainen, but... :(He should finish the race at least 2nd, if he doesn't want Hamilton or Massa to collect far more points than him. If Hami wins it and Kimi 3rd then the gap would be 17 points (while Massa 2nd then the gap between him and Kimi would be 9 points...) .... and he even could finish at 4th, 5th, 6th... that's worse like the worst nightmare...:(:(:(:no::no:

I don't care lol the decision will be in the race!
Come on Kimi!!!!!!! :hat_wave:
What's easy can be done by everyone! :hat_wave: This still can be done by you, you need to win this!!!!!!!!!:clapping: :hat_wave:

Gooooooooooooooo Ferrariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! :hat_wave:

I appreciate your optimism, Mechi, but I think Heikki is the biggest problem for Kimi right now (or Massa blocking Kimi again, like he did in Turkey and in Monaco). If Kimi can't overtake Heikki at the first possibility, then the hope is lost for him to win this. Winning this race is crucial for him. He can't afford to get less points than his main rivals, he can't afford to get less points than his team-mate.

Anyways, let's hope the best. The thing is that finally it seemed that he likes the car how it is. He even said it himself that the car behaves the way he likes it. He had been struggling with set-ups, tyre heating, but this weekend he and his team didn't say a word about these problems. Now he should race, overtake, fight, like he has nothing to loose. I want to see an aggressive, flying Kimi tomorrow!

Come on, Kimi, show them!!! :hat_wave: :hat_wave: :hat_wave:

I must say it: Hamilton and McLaren and their PR work...:puke: I have to vomit when I see his big grin and optimistic thoughts...blaaaahhhh He's extra light.... they are fighting with Massa... who is the lightest on the grid???!!! hahahaha I hope and think that Kimi is - again - heavier than they are. As I said the only problem is Heikki... Kimi must overtake him!!!!

You see my mood state: that's because of the race tomorrow... and if there would be some rain during the race... I have to take some tranquillizer otherwise I'd go insane...

Well on thing for sure:

Kimi IS champion!

The others are not.

There's only one who even once WAS a champion and that's Alonso... nowhere close to Kimi yet! lol

So somehow... some of the others has to win first to also be a champion... and even then only the next season would really decide who can maybe make it again and this way be really better than Kimi.

Saying basically... Kimi is in his own league someone else has to be able to join first before there can be a true competition! lol

^ Yeah I kind of get what you mean.. :D

I'm worried more about Massa because he has said that he expect's Kimi to help him to win the championship like he helped Kimi last year... I hope Kimi could now win so there wouldn't be any fighting between Massa and him.. that would be the worst.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But I would expected it this year would be easier for Kimi because finally he became a world champion. And it seems that it's almost harder because now because he is the champion the pressure is bigger on him. I don't know whether it does affect him one way or the other or not but it's getting worse this year... Because of the doubters, haters, media, etc.

think the major mistake most ppl are doing thinking since Ayrton Senna and then Michael Schumacher... a true champion is only who wins several times in a row.

Times changed.

There are several drivers and several cars who actually can compete with eachother.

I think this way some luck became a huge factor in winning!

Sooooooooooooooooo gooooooo Kimi!!!!!!!!!! :hat_wave:
Gooooooooooo ferrariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hat_wave:

sheeeesh either f1 god is against Kimi... or against Kinga... I don't know! :swoon: can't believe the finish of this race really!

Hamilton seems to get everything going in his favor. This time the weather changes the outcome of the race with only a few laps to go. It's a shame but it looks like it's his title now unless he finally sees some bad luck in the last races.

As for Kimi, his title hopes are now over, although I still believe he's the fastest driver out there. I wonder what the future holds for him.

I can't say a word.......

The circuit which was sooooo good to Kimi, now is his biggest enemy...............

That damnnnn rain, why it couldn't start after the chequered flag??????????????????????????????

But, that's how I like Kimi! At least he showed his best - finally and he was awesome!!!!! He was aggressive, he was great! Thank you, Kimi!
