Kimi should be signing better results soon
Kimi not really "in love" with F1

F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone would not be surprised if Kimi Raikkonen resumed his post at the top of the Formula One timesheets before too long.

Albeit criticising the Finn, and his title-winning predecessor Fernando Alonso, for "not doing enough" to represent the sport as World Champions, the 77-year-old Briton said Raikkonen's current struggle at the wheel of the Ferrari is out of character.

"I mean, he is a super-talented driver, and I just can't believe that the way he's driving at the moment is Kimi," Ecclestone told BBC radio's Sportsweek programme.

"He's always been quicker than Massa. Massa's quick but Kim should not be that far behind.

Ecclestone disagrees with reports that Raikkonen has fallen out of love with the sport.

"I don't know if he's ever been in love with it," he said.

That's what I said... that I just can't believe what's happening with Kimi....

^^^yeah, that would be more than great! The weather is quite cool there, so it should fit to McLaren cars, but last year Ferrari has proved that they are favorites there! Let's keep our fingers crossed for the best result Kimi could achieve! He must fight back!!!

Look, what I've found. This is the nicest wallpaper I've ever seen of Kimi IMO... :wub  Look at the pic on the right side, I can't take my eyes off of him...

Kingaaa I'm going to tell your husband what are u talking now.. lol

But wow that really is amazing wallpaper, very powerful :mello:

"I don't know if he's ever been in love with it," he said.
Now that was not nicely said :zformation::nono:
Kimi you need to wake uP!!! Show them that you still got what you got known of - the super fast speed!!!!! :horsey::hat_wave:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh please don't worry!

It's all exactly how I like it!

Gosh I was really a Michael Schumacher hard core fan during his career... but honestly it wasn't that important to me to watch every race cuz it was kind of boring to see him win all the time. There was hardly an as boring time in F1 ever like that.

See it's so much more interesting when you have several good cars and several good drivers.

Again Kimi is the most complete driver to me currently... so from his driver skills he'd deserve to win.
But yeah so maybe he's not working really that good with his team, maybe he's just too relaxed lol who cares... whatever it is, it makes it more interesting.

I would love to see him winning the championship... as the person behind the steering wheel he'd deserve to be champion... but then again the champion will have to have the best mixture... it's the driver, it's the car, it's the working harmony in the team and then there's luck... the best mixture will win.
It's exciting... actually I enjoy being a f1 fan much more than I really enjoyed f1 when I was a Schumacher fan! lol
But again... there's no decision yet soooooooooo better have faith and let's shout him to the pole if needed! lol that's how it's meant and that's the fun!!!!

:hat_wave: Goooooo Kimiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! :hat_wave:
:hat_wave: Goooooo Ferrariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! :hat_wave:

 oh, please don't tell him... It's just innocent adoration (just look at my mood state...:))...:D And I was talking about the fact... That he should pay some penalty because he's too sexy and cute for words...

Now that was not nicely said :zformation::nono:

hahah that "horse and sword" smiley is sooo great :lmao: That smiley exactly shows my mood when someone bashes Kimi! Me like :"I'm gonna beat you...:zformation:

LOL it definitely was boring when Schumacher won all the time. I can say that as non-fan too :D

But would be nice to see Kimi winning sometimes. Since Monaco everything is going just blaahh.

But I'm optimistic about Spa's Gp. Lets keep our fingers crossed so Kimi will win again :hat_wave:

yeah!!! you are right!!! :hat_wave:

It's funny though that you didn't mention Massa at all... Everybody is talking about Massa right now. How he's grown up for the aim, that he's speed, etc. But I just see it (maybe because I'm Kimi's fan) that he can shine because Kimi has some issues to be solved. Once Kimi get the car right then there's no chance for Massa to win (see France and Barcelona). That's my opinion.

You are right with the best mixture to win. That's right. Kimi was awesome at the last third of 2007's season. I so hope it'll be the situation this year, also. So then all the doubters would eat their words and it'll be so great to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:tease:

That's absolutely true
Massa has no chance in the spotlight when it's Kimi's shining day.

^^^... but where are those shining days!!! I don't like to see him struggling... I wanna see Kimi flying in that red car! I wanna see the passion he drove with at Hungaroring in the last 15 laps! Now, that was simply mind-blowing...:clapping: I was like: yes!!!:punk: Show it, Kimi!:punk:

Maybe Spa is Kimi's shining day? Let's hope so :)

Don't you think Bruno Senna is very cute? :D

^^^let's hope so!!! I want the King of Spa's return!!!

yeah, Bruno Senna is cute. I was shocked when I first saw him in his helmet. He has the same type of helmet (yellow colored) like Ayrton Senna had and he has the same kind of dark brown eyes and freckles... It was really interesting for me.

Do you find something similar, or is it just me?

Hanna, as you mentioned you didn't like Bernie Ecclestone's statement about Kimi not loving F1.

There are other Kimi fans who thinks the same, here is Evenstar Saima's thoughts regarding this and regarding the fact that they would like to change the track at Spa. I post it here, because I couldn't have said it better myself. Since my native language is not English, it's really hard to explain my feelings, but Saima speaks for me, here, too:

We can all agree that Kimi isn't a PR robot like the majority of the F1 drivers but Ecclestone and his lot just can't seem to get over it. When Kimi won the world title last year he said he had fallen in love with F1 again. This year however he's going through a rough time in getting the most out of his car and we all know it has nothing to do with his motivation, he has even had to say so himself. Infact and shockingly he is still the same driver Bernie, Kimi is still Kimi you moron, but thanks to the restricting changes in F1 such as the unneccessary technical difficulties with tyres and engines rules and what not, Kimi was always going to be be restricted in his performance and held back unfortunately. A few years earlier, Kimi was driving like a bat out of hell before these changes came into the sport so we only have the FIA circus to thank for this apparent 'lack of love'. Hamilton recently claimed he's willing to settle for second places now as long as he keeps bringing home the crucial points for the title. Most critics found this odd because it's not Hamilton's 'style'. But we don't hear Bernie whinging about that because Golden Boy Lewis is every PR's dream and has done a lot for F1 in terms of media attention and rallying new fans to the sport. But at least we Kimi fans appreciate the pure love and talent Kimi has inside eventhough he may not flaunt it, simply because he doesn't want to rub it in people's faces as mentioned in an interview. Brilliant! And it's so ironic that these statements come out in time with with Spa Franchorchamp track change proposals. Kimi is slumping in his performance due to a lack of love is it? Well they're doing a bloody good job of rubbing that in by ruining the best tracks ever made and adored by true F1 drivers and fans. But thanks for tipping Kimi to win at Spa this weekend Bernie, I'm sure he'll be even more motivated now to be the final victorious driver there, as that you're going to let the sport mess it up afterwards!

^ Yep, I agree with that too 100%
Damn now I really really hope Kimi wins at Spa!! :hat_wave:

And yes, I definitely see similarity in Ayrton and Bruno, but hey, they're uncle and nephew, after all.. :D

Some good news regarding Spa track!!!! Wohoooo!!! :punk: :punk:

Spa official denies layout to change

An official for the Spa Francorchamps circuit on Monday played down reports that the much loved Formula One layout may be shortened from its current 7km.

Local reports in Belgium say historic Spa, the longest layout on the current F1 calendar, had - with Bernie Ecclestone's approval - proposed to connect the Pouhon corners with Blanchimont, thereby cutting out famous sections including the Fagnes chicane and Stavelot.

But circuit spokesman Luc Willems told the Dutch language f1today.nl: "Spa has always been an unique circuit and that is not going to change."

He said there is a difference between proposals and reality.

"Our circuit is as it is and is not going to change," Willems insisted. :D

oh oh Schumi... :D

Speedy Schumi

Michael Schumacher has been caught speeding on a highway near his German hometown of Kerpen, according to reports in Italy and Germany.

The former champion was fined 75 Euros :)toofunny: can he pay it or maybe we can give him this amount...? :D) and docked three points on his driving license, the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport said.

Schumacher was at the wheel of an Audi Cabriolet, but the precise speed of his infraction is not known.

Police, however, confirmed that he was stopped for speeding in a 100kmh zone. German media reports suggest he was caught at 140kmh.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Schumacher would automatically have lost his license if his offence was in excess of 146kmh.

"I'm really sorry, it is out of character for me. Speeding is for the race tracks only," he is quoted as saying by the German newspaper Bild.
-------------------------------

I can imagine Kimi has a series of speeding tickets at home... :D He says - like Schumi - that speeding is for the race tracks only. But I think they can't help themselves, speeding is in their blood after all!

oh oh Schumi... :D

:)toofunny: can he pay it or maybe we can give him this amount...? :D)

lol it's pretty easy to get a high ticket in Germany lately... and that's good to be honest as we're allowed to speed as high as we want still on many of our motorways... so there's a reason why there's a speedlimit on others.
I'm just wondering... if there was a limit of 100 and he was at 146... they do take 5 away... but then it would be still 41 over limit and look at the tableau below...:scratch:celebrity bonus??? I mean he should have lost his driver license for a month then... wheeew that would be even more emberassing for Michael uhhhh!!!
For those of you who are interested this is the catalogue of fines you could collect on german motor ways outside of cities...

losing license? if you're ... over speedlimit up to 10 km/h 10 no11-15 km/h 20 no16-20 km/h 30 no21-25 km/h 1 P 40 no26-30 km/h 3 P 50 no31-40 km/h 3 P 75 no41-50 km/h 3 P 100 1 month51-60 km/h 4 P 150 1 month 61-70 km/h 4 P 275 2 monthsüber 70 km/h 4 P 375 3 months

As you can see with higher tickets you can collect points... as Michael did (he got 3 P on his account in 'Flensburg')... if you reach 18points there on such accounts you'll lose automatically your driver license for minimum half a year.
This can be that good :tease: that the police will make you imediately leave your car wherever they caught you and your account made it to that limit. And they'll not bring you to the next train or bus station... only if they are nice they'll call you a taxi if it's somewhere on the motorway.

But now back to that article about Schumi  cuz there's the much more important question...
Why on earth did he drive (only) an Audi???????? Isn't he supposed to be seen in FERRARI :hat_wave: ONLY?!?!?!?! lol

 Thanks for the information Mechi!!! In case I visit Germany, I'll know the rules! :)

 @ Schumi... I was asking the same question to myself?!! Why on Earth an Audi??!!!:D

Here's Spa preview from Kimi!!! Sounds good!!! :)

This is the one that I've been waiting for. The weekend of Spa is always a certain highlight of the season for me. Usually, I've got a positive result from the Belgian Grand Prix. What has happened there before doesn't help me right now, but, it doesn't make any harm either.

We need that positive result, indeed. The previous race was the one to forget as quickly as possible. It's never nice to be in the middle of all kinds of negative stories, but it just happens. It's not the first time in my life, and you just have to live with it.

Back in the old days at school it was not that nice to bring home a bad grade from an exam. You could only try to do better next time. That's how to react, still.

Since Valencia I've been training a lot in Switzerland and last week we also had a test in Monza. The test seemed to go well. We tried some new parts and I feel the package has improved. Having said that, you can only really judge the performance on Saturday at Spa as nobody knows the fuel levels of your competitors in testing. But it is going to be very close. That won't change in one test.

For me there has only been good memories from Spa. Obviously it would be great to win it a fourth time in a row. I have not won for a few months and it would help to get my championship challenge back on track after that disappointment of the last race.

During the last season we found a good balance that suited my driving style in the middle of the year, and after that, I won many races in the second half of the year.

Obviously I need to try and find a good balance again because with 13 points behind I must start to close the gap. It's not impossible. I was 17 points behind with two races to go last year.

340641jw0.jpg
At Spa I took pole position last year and hopefully I can do the same this year. As we've seen so many times this year, a good grid position is extremely important. It will be very decisive at Spa too. Everybody knows it.

It's so crucial to have an aerodynamically good car to tackle those fast corners. It's a long lap and to get the time right, you really need to maintain the best rhythm. But so much depends on the qualifying result. Following another car in a race is very difficult. So I need to find a decent set-up on Friday and Saturday and have a solid qualifying session on Saturday afternoon.

Anyway, it's great to go racing in Spa. You cannot get the same kind of 'pedal to the metal' feeling anywhere else. It's great to race with a modern racing car in a proper circuit which has such a marvellous tradition.

This is going to be a little a bit different weekend for me. In Finland, they will publish a stamp that was designed in honour of my world championship last year. I really value this highly. As a small boy sending a card I would have never imagined that one day I would have a stamp with my picture on it.

For sure, it's nice to show to the grandkids in years to come.

awwwww  to show the grandkids... how sweet!!!

Kinga forget about that what i first posted

I almost lost my driving license last year when I drove with 48 instead of 30... hahaha That was more than the 50% over the limit, so it was really exciting. I was joking with everybody that I got a speeding ticket. They were like: you drove with 120? Me: no, only 48... and they started to laugh so much :toofunny:

Can you imagine this? Uncle Kimi sits by the fire place and tells his stories to his grandkids. "When I was a F1 pilot, I was the fastest driver but I hated the PR work so much... I liked only the racing, but you, my little kids, you are not allowed to speed at all!!! It's dangerous. Listen to your grandfather.":D

awww  yeah, maybe...

I bet he will be a great dad because he's childlike himself when it comes to have fun and play games. I can imagine him running around and laughing loud in a garden with his children (there will be some dogs or other pets also). It would be a problem though that he would like to win in everything and children want to win also every time... haha There will be big "competition" between the kids and their dad. :) and Jenni would sit near to them with a cute smile on her face looking at her lovely family.

^^ Awww yest that seems like a perfect family!

ANYWAY, back to topic :D
Just something to read... from F1News.com:

Massa: Kimi will be hard to beat at Spa

Wednesday, 03 September 2008 10:27

Felipe Massa believes it will be hard to beat his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen at Spa this weekend.
The Brazilian has held the upper hand over his world champion Ferrari partner for the past three races and has become the team's main title hope.
But with Raikkonen chasing a fourth straight win in Belgium, Massa thinks this will be the weekend when the Finn bounces back and is expecting a much tougher challenge from his team-mate.

"I will be hoping to be ahead of my team-mate, but Kimi has always been quick at Spa," said Massa.
"Not just in Formula 1, but he was also a winner here in the junior categories and he has won the last three grands prix at this track.

"So for sure, it won't be easy to beat him and I am looking forward to a good battle with my team-mate."

Last year Raikkonen edged away from Massa in a commanding Ferrari one-two at Spa, and Massa hopes they can achieve a similar result this time - especially as he still trails McLaren's Lewis Hamilton by six points in the title battle.

"I have good memories of last year, when we had a competitive car and the team got a one-two finish," he said.

"I hope we can repeat that performance and have a car that is good enough to keep ahead of the McLarens, which of course is our main target at the moment."

McLaren ended last week's Monza test slightly ahead of Ferrari on combined times, but Massa doesn't think this will have much relevance to Spa.

"Generally the results were positive, although my work load was aimed entirely at the Italian Grand Prix and I did not really try anything specifically for the Spa circuit," he said.

"Even though I was concentrating on the demands of the Monza track, we did a lot of mileage which was important from the reliability point of view for this weekend in Belgium, especially on the engine front."

Raikkonen hasn't beaten Massa in a while, but could bounce back at Spa.

^^^Thanks for this! I hope there would be a foundation of Massa's concern regarding "Kimi's hard to beat at Spa".

At one of our Hungarian F1 site they call Kimi "the Little King of Spa" and they are like what Istanbul is for Massa then it's Spa for Kimi. Would he be able to win it fourth in a row? That's the question.

Massa's run to end at Spa - Hamilton

Ferrari's Felipe Massa is on a run of strong form, but championship leader Lewis Hamilton believes the Brazilian will have a fight on his hands for victory in Belgium this weekend.

Massa, six points behind McLaren's Hamilton in the drivers' standings, dominated the recent Valencia race, and would also have won the previous Hungarian Grand Prix if not for an engine failure.

But Hamilton disagrees that his chief rival should be considered favourite to win again as F1 moves on to the famous Spa Francorchamps venue.

"I think Ferrari have been strong when we have had the softest two tyre compounds," he is quoted by Motorsport Aktuell.

Hamilton points out that, at Spa, the field must use Bridgestone's medium and harder tyres.

"The last two races for Massa were impressive but I actually consider our car the most competitive overall," he said.

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and Massa finished first and second in Belgium last year, with Hamilton fourth, behind his then McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso.

The Briton also qualified fourth, behind the same aforementioned drivers.

--------------------------------

blaaaaahhh :ermm::*****::puke: I have to vomit when I hear such comments..... How come we can't hear such things from Kimi's mouth...?... and they say (most of all Bernie) that Hamilton is good for F1's PR.:( Yeah, when it comes to ugly messages addressed to the rivals...

Yeah  ...................
I don't think anyone else in teh whole F1 would even say their car is 'the most competitive overall' but Hamilton. Blahhhhh.

I'm glad we agree in this one. :)

There will be the usual press conference for the pilots tomorrow afternoon. Kimi will be there and I'm very curious what he has to say about this weekend?!

Most of the time I'm too pessimistic, as you know, but right now I have a feeling that Kimi can win this. After such dissapointment in the past races he deserves some good luck and good results. Where could he get it first if not at his beloved Spa? The King of Spa will bounce back!:clapping: Brace yourselves, Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Massa! Then he should deliver great results after that!!!

Keep flying and keep fighting, Kimi!:D

:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping: :punk::punk::punk::punk:

Yes, go Kimi!!! :hat_wave:

Guess what! My mum is a teacher and one of her students has Kimi's autograph!!! His (mym um's student's) mother knows some of the people and had manage to get hisautograph for her son.. I'm so jealous

Also in one of our restaurant is an offer every monday after a race that you get 0,10 € rebate of your meal for every point Kimi has got in the previous race :D

Wow, I'm envy this boy...!!! :D I want Kimi's autograph, too!

and about the rebate... haha that sounds cool!!!!:punk: I hope people would get 1 € rebate on Monday (and next Monday, too :) )
