The other day I've found a video from Kimi's early F1 years, I think from 2001. Kimi is so young. Hanna, could you tell me in some words what were they talking about? Thank you in advance.

Canada press conference, Kimi on retiring!!!!

Kimi Raikkonen has not ruled out retiring from Formula One when his current contract expires at the end of the 2009 season.
The Finn, world champion last year, has one more year of his Ferrari contract to run but he admits he has not yet decided what he plans to do next.

"There has been rumours like that many years," Raikkonen, 28, said of talks about his retirement after 2009. "I always say I have a contract until the end of next year.

"I haven't made any decision if I'm going to keep going or not. That is the last contract I have and we will see what happens this year and next year."

He added: "I wouldn't stop if I felt I would miss it afterwards. For sure I would find something else to do and maybe that I would enjoy more. I don't know what is going to happen after next year, I haven't made my mind up. Who knows maybe I make my decision this year.

"I think I will race as long as I enjoy it, it is the right thing for me. It could be in four years' time. It is too early to say," the Ferrari driver told a news conference in Montreal ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.

Raikkonen admitted there are things in Formula One that he is not enjoying and said he will taken them into account when deciding on his future.

"I like the racing and the other stuff is not always the best thing," he said. "Everyone in F1 is here because they love racing and driving, but when there are too many things that you don't enjoy or too many things you don't want it is time to go away.

"It can be anything. When you find something you don't want to do or don't enjoy... If there are things like that or don't work out anymore. There can be many things apart from racing, then probably it is the best time to go away."

KIMI!!!!!!!!!!!! I want you to stay four more years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! I would like to think that this is the truth!!! Kimi is always honest! But we don't know how would he feel at the end of 2009.... I think he doesn't know it either.

In a new Media Centre, part of a major refurbishment of the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit in Montreal, Kimi Raikkonen was one of the first drivers to meet the press, in this afternoon's official FIA Press Conference. In typical Kimi style, the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro driver quickly dismissed the last race, when asked about the Monaco Grand Prix.

"As I said before, it's one of the races that didn't really work out. I got no points from there. But, it's in the past and hopefully we will have better results here."

The Finn was far more forthcoming when asked about the challenge of tackling this unusual and low downforce circuit in the post-electronic aids age.

"I guess it's going to be more difficult than in the past years but probably we at Ferrari have a better car than last year," reckoned Raikkonen. "It really depends on how well you get your car working but I don't think it's going to be quite as different as everyone expects. People thought that every circuit this year should be more difficult, but there hasn't been a major issue, nor much difference speed-wise. I guess the first few laps on Friday are going to be quite slippery but once we get some rubber down it should help."

One journalist pointed out that Raikkonen has finished every race here in the points, including one tough drive from twentieth to sixth and the Scuderia driver admitted this track suited him:

"I like the place but usually something always goes wrong or happens, but still we have been able to finish the races and score points, but hopefully we will have a good weekend and not really have any mistakes or problems. I would expect that we should have good enough speed to try to win here so we will see what happens."

Although Kimi failed to score in the last race, thus slipping off the top of the Leader Board, he did not feel that this made this race particularly important.

"Of course we would rather score maximum points than losing any more points to Lewis but there's still a long way to go and we've been in much worse positions before," he maintained. "It's not vital but for sure we want to have a good result. The championship always ends up very close between the top drivers, top teams, but nobody knows. It's close and hopefully we can come back and be in the front when it counts. But I don't feel any pressure. We won the title last year and this time last year we were in a much worse position. One bad race doesn't really make any difference. OK, we lost the lead, we could have easily taken a few more points but it didn't happen, so we come here and try to do better and try to get back in the lead."

Raikkonen also felt that his lack of points in Monaco did not mean the team were in a similar situation to this time last year.

"For sure we were much stronger in Monaco, but with all the circumstances that happened for us and all the things didn't really go the way we were planning," he explained. We expect to be stronger here again than last year. Things can easily go wrong or right. If things go right, I don't see any reason why we cannot win here. It's too early say, but that's what we're aiming for and then we will see what happens after this race."

And the inevitable final question about rumours that the reigning world champion would hang up his helmet at the end of next year.

"There's been rumours like that for many years," said Kimi with a smile. "I always say that I still have a contract until the end of next year. I haven't made any decision as to whether I will keep going or not after that. So far, that's the last contract that I have and we will see during this year and next year what happens."

wow Kimi! You go!!! :punk:

Ferrari on Ice (almost) - Kimi treats Ferrari to ice hockey

Kimi Räikkönen has invited the Ferrari team to an unusual event at Canada ahead of the Grand Prix: a hockey game in the famous Bell Centre.

In the Bell Centre - the home stadium of the "Montreal Canadians" and yesterday a magnet for all fans of world star Alicia Keys - on Wednesday will take place a rare occasion: a hockey game, organized by world champion Kimi Räikkönen.

While Michael Schumacher invited the Ferrari team to karting at Kerpen, Kimi brings the Reds - well, however not on the ice: the risk of injury would be too large, if they would actually put on skates, so there will be a lot less slippery ground.

There will also be hockey legend Patrice Brisebois, a good buddy of Räikkönen, who will run a Ferrari F430 at the framework programme.

Brisebois on the unusual abilities of his opponent: "Some are not quite clear whether they take the stick left or right, so they switch."

Kimi Räikkönen is very different. Gino Rosato, logisticians at Ferrari and for him Montreal his home GP: "Kimi is an excellent hockey player. He has a good eye and a safe hand. Felipe Massa, however, is very quick but I would not put him on the ice."

20 Italians who have only once a year a hockey stick in hand, would certainly be a show, but the Ferrari festival will be held, as was previously the kart races from Schumi, behind closed doors.

^^^yeah, congrats to him! :)

Glad to see you here! Will you go to the British Grand Prix? Silverstone is one of the greatest tracks in F1 calendar.

I most certainly am going, would not miss it for the world

^^^wow, it's sooo cool! I'm going to the Hungarian GP's free practices on Friday, 1, August. I just can't wait! It'll be the first time I can see and feel the atmosphere of it live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinga, the articles you posted were just the one I was going to post
That's good, I don't have to spend my day translating them from Finnish to English :)

Yep, that first pic was definitely posted in the old thread :D
AAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW!!! Kimi is sooo cute!:wub: And his brother, too

Translation of the video:

Man: Our next subject is motor sport. Dream of many young boys is to get into Formula 1 world - and nothing less. But how do they manage to get there and what features this sport requires from teh driver? Welcome, driver Kimi Räikkönen, who has actually already tried F1 car, and managin editor of Vauhdin Maailma magazine, Peter Geitel.
Kimi & PG: Thank you.
Man: So, you tried F1 few weeks ago in Muggello, Italy. How did the car feel like?
Kimi: Well, it felt totally different than any other car though basically every car has four tires, brakes and hopper. In a real racing car it's little bit different and at first it was pretty difficult but then it started going well.
Woman: Well tell us, who are watching the Japan Gp few next Sunday and who drive normal car with control effects (? sorry, I'm not sure how top translate this word), how does F1 feel compared to normal car?
Kimi: Well, sure F1 has quite big wings which makes air forces so big that in curves you can go faster than normal car and in straight capabitily is bigger than in llittle normal car. All the cars are so different and in Sauber there wasnt control effects so it was pretty heavy to drive.
Woman: Well how does the G-power feel, isn't it like four times your own weight in F1?
Kimi: Yes, mostly it feels in your neck and when you brake, then it can be 4G in its best.
Man: Can you even call it a car, it's like missile which goes 300km/h straight ahead and it's from totally different world than normal cars?
Kimi: Yes, you can call it a car. You drive it the same way, you just go littel faster.

Ok, I'm only at 2:19 in the video, I'll post the end little later, OK? This is hard job, I tell you :D I think it's OK if I translate only Kimi's part of the interview and not the Peter Geitel part?

OMG!!! Hanna! You are too kind! You wouldn't had to translate the sentences from word to word. I don't know whether you continue translating or not, but if you look at this post... then you don't have to, some words would be enough. Though I'm enjoying reading it, so thank you so so much. I didn't want to steal your time.

I watched the whole video just to look at how Kimi behaved but I found it quite annoying that I didn't understand a word.

Once again, thank you very much for this hard work.

No this is fun, I like translating it :) It's just pretty slow and I have to look after my nephew at the moment so I'll post the end little later.
Don't worry, I really like doing this so it's not stealing my time :)

Ok, then, I would be more than happy. I like doing these kind of things, but it doesn't mean others like this work as well. In a way you can learn from these.

I used to translate a lot of MJ articles when I was a teenager. I'd say I started to learn English because of Michael. I wanted to know what his song's lyrics are about and stuff like that.

Edit: we are ahead of the "wrestling thread" We rock!!! :punk:

Btw, I looked at it, and sweet princess (who started that thread) posted 13 replies in a row. It's not a conversation then, is it? I posted some (2-3) as well but I don't do it all the time. :)

Yep, I really learn to write English when I have to translate it.. but it's fun :)

Ok, seems like there isn't so much posters either.. But we really discuss every once in a while

Here's the rest of the interview:

Man: Sauber arranged this test driving in Italy and you beat Sauber's test-driver Pedro Diniz, were they surprised of your success?
Kimi: Well yeah, tehy were very surprised. They said that if I manage to get 1 or 2 seconds behind Pedro they would be happy..
Man: Peter, you have followed F1 for a long time. How unusual are these soon-21-year-old drivers who drives so well?
Peter: Well we are speaking about expectional talent here. We don't know anything about future yet but if this leads Kimi in any kind of act in F1 world we don't have almost any examples of other drivers who would have managed to get in real F1 car with such a little experience and from such a huge short cut.
Man: How is it possible that Kimi is able to rise to F1 level so quickly?
Peter: Of course there has to be some relationships but also driver has to be very talented. When the talent is found, "manager powers" step into the picture and relationships are important then. Kimi has same situation as Jenson Button who also entered to F1 world at very young age.
Woman: Kimi can you tell little bit about the people behind you, who work "for" you?
Kimi: Well my dad is there and *some people, who work also for Button, I didn't catch it :D* There's only driving left for me.
Woman: And what are they doing now with their product or talent called Kimi Räikkönen?
Kimi: Well propably they're trying to get me there, to F1. It's everybody's benefit then.
Woman: And what is the goal? Is it team Sauber? There has been talking about tes-driver spot or would you be a real racer, then?
Kimi: We hope, of course, that I could get competiting but we'll find out that later.
*Some talking with Peter about something related to F1*
Woman: What would be your dream team where you would like to drive Kimi?
Kimi: Well there's only two teams where you could really compete winning World Championship and they are Ferrari and McLaren.
Woman: Is it really so written to rock that it has to be Ferrari or McLaren if you want to win?
Peter: Yes, ther ewould have to happend something strange if some other team would be able to win Champion, it's just the way it is now. For some reason it is like that but everybody remember early 90's when Williams controlled the game.
*Some talking again*
Man: I've heard that you have this skill to tell immediately if something is wrong with the car, is it true?
Kimi: Well, at the moment yes. It's not so hard to notice it and then tell to mechanics.
Man: But how do you know it? Do you just feel it or do you watch the meters or what?
Kimi: No, I just feel it. Cars have interested me since I was little so it just comes..
And then some talking again, after week that interview Kimi was released from sport army in Lahti, which is my hometown, btw :pleased:

I think they were amazed by this talented kid... Peter Sauber said somewhere that Kimi's manager wanted him to give the opportunity for a test driving so badly that he has to watch this guy, because he hasn't seen such talent before in his whole life. Sauber thought it's just a "manager's talk" and didn't want to believe it, but Mr. Robertson was so convincing that he couldn't say no. Sauber said that his impression about Kimi was very very good. Though he was a bit strange like a little animal who is afraid of everything, Kimi wasn't polite at all  but it has to do with his English language problem. He could say only a few words in English back then. He was soo shy. Bless him! Still he is... But Kimi's incredible determination and talent was so unbelievable.

Edit: Ok, I've just found the scan of the F1 racing magazine's page where you can read this above mentioned interview with Peter Sauber.

If so Kimi, then please tell your mechanics about the problems of your car and please, I beg you, please solve the problem!!!!!!!!!! I want you to win the Canadian Grand Prix this Sunday and other ones (so many that would be enough to win the championship) this year and next year.

Hanna, thank you so so much for this translation. It was very interesting and I'm really happy to be able to understand it through your help. :)

So, the first practice is over, the 2nd is about to start...

Massa and Ferrari set the early pace

As predicted, rain this morning in Montreal affected the 90 minute first free practice session of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend. However, as conditions improved, the final 15-mintes of the session saw all 20 runners take to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve with the standard dry weather tyres.

The final minutes of the session saw the lap times tumble as each driver made gains by the lap. Felipe Massa set the best time of the session with a best lap of 1:17.553s, two-tenths clear of Robert Kubica in the BMW Sauber. Kubica, like much of the field, recorded his best lap time on his final lap after the chequered flag had been displayed.

Heikki Kovalainen was third fastest for McLaren Mercedes with team-mate Lewis Hamilton leaving it until just five minutes remained before setting his first time of the session. Hamilton would end the morning sixth overall.

Nick Heidfeld was fourth fastest in the second BMW Sauber while Kimi Raikkonen opted to pit rather than complete a final lap at the end of the session and was bumped from second to fifth on the timesheets.

Mark Webber and David Coulthard recorded the seventh and eighth best times for Red Bull Renault while Kazuki Nakajima and Fernando Alonso rounded out the top ten for Williams and Renault.

1. Massa
2. Kubica
3. Kovalainen
4. Heidfeld
5. Räikkönen
6. Hamilton

I hope that Kimi is 5th because he didn't do a flying lap at the end of the session and not because of set-up, tyres or mechanical problems.
-----------------------------------------------------------

2nd free practice
Hamilton tops Friday practice

The morning rain had long-cleared for the second free practice session of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend and it was Lewis Hamilton’s lap recorded ten minutes ahead of the chequered flag that would top the timesheets for McLaren and last year’s race winner.

In grey overcast conditions the championship leader recorded a best lap of 1:15.752s, nearly three-tenths of a second clear of Robert Kubica in the leading BMW Sauber. While there were no major issues for the most of the front-runners, four of the 20 drivers were unable to complete the session.

Kimi Raikkonen was third fastest for Ferrari, just over three-tenths shy of Hamilton while team-mate Felipe Massa’s F2008 ground to a halt with a suspected hydraulic issue late in the session. The Brazilian had been fifth at the time and while he lost his final stint on soft rubber, he remained in the position to the chequered flag.

Heikki Kovalainen recorded the fourth best time in the 90-minute session ahead of Massa and Nick Heidfeld in the second BMW Sauber. A late push from Mark Webber saw the Australian first spin, and then vault up the timing sheets to seventh position in his Red Bull Renault. Team-mate David Coulthard also went off track on his final push and had to be content with 12th position.

Nico Rosberg set the eighth best time in his Williams Toyota, just over a second down on the ultimate pace with team-mate Kazuki Nakajima four-tenths adrift in 11th place. A solid session for Sebastian Vettel saw him end Friday with the ninth best time in what is the second race weekend with the STR3 package.

Jarno Trulli had an eventful Friday practice with numerous spins and slides.

The Italian veteran went on to set the tenth best time in his Toyota while team-mate Timo Glock brushed the wall exiting turn four and damaged the front right suspension on his TF108. Glock was 13th at the time and would drop two further positions.

Honda really looked to be struggling for pace through much of the afternoon session but Rubens Barrichello at least was able to haul the disappointing RA108 up to 13th position ahead of the ever-green Giancarlo Fisichella in the leading Force India Ferrari. Sebastien Bourdais was 16th in the second Toro Rosso behind Glock.

It was a nightmare of a session for the Renault team with both drivers hitting problems. Nelson Piquet missed half of the session after he suddenly abandoned his lap and pulled into the pits and stopped the R28. With smoke pouring from the rear brakes the car was pushed away and not seen again leaving Piquet to sit frustrated on the pit wall.

Fernando Alonso survived one spin at turn one but the second one caught him out as the car stalled and that was the end of his session. Alonso was 17th and Piquet was 20th and slowest. Adrian Sutil and Jenson Button split the unfortunate Renault drivers in 18th and 19th positions respectively.

I read somewhere that he had two slower cars in front of him while flying lap and that's why he couldn't do his best.

I also read that last year at this same time Alonso had 40 points, and now, guess how many he has.. 9. :giggle::eek:

Wow, well done Kubica! He's really starting to do well in every race! Shame for Kimi though because he was 2nd before Kubica managed to pass him..

Very good job for Rosberg, I hope this time he could end the race in top 5 !

Alonso did very good job as well, I didn't expect him to be so high, but Massa then didn't d oso well..

I'm still waiting that luck to come for Kovalainen. I would so want him to do well tomorrow, I'll keep my fingers crossed

^^^I have exactly the same feelings Hanna! About Kimi, about Kubica, about Massa, about Alonso, about Rosberg, about Kovalainen. It's incredible, isn't it? But great minds think alike!

I so hope that Kimi would overtake Kubica (I hope at the first possibility so at the beginning, because Kimi will start from the clean side and Kubica from the dirty, like Kimi did it during the Turkey race) and later he could begin to chase Hamilton. I think Kimi carries more fuel than Kubica so if he can't do it in the race, he can do it during the pit stops. He does it so well. I'm happy that this time Kimi was better than Massa because it was getting annoying always seeing Massa in front of Kimi in the qualifying. Keep flying Kimi! And Heikki, please get some luck!

Edit:
Kimi and other pilots are complaining because of the track's bad conditions... Kimi said it was a bad joke to run on this circuit. (Massa shared his opinion)

Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari (3rd, Q1 - 1m 18.735s):
"It's unbelievable how much time I lost at turn 10, lap after lap. The track was already beginning to break up in Q1 and I had no drive: it was like driving on ice and I never managed to find the right line at this point. It's a real shame because the car was going very well and I could have fought for pole position. I can't understand how things like this can happen: maybe it's down to the higher temperatures, or a repair job at this point not done properly but one thing's certain, in the race tomorrow, it will be very difficult to get through here. But the situation is not that bad. We are quick, as could be seen all weekend long up to qualifying and starting on the clean side of the track is definitely a good thing. Let's wait and see what happens tomorrow."

Ferrari
Kimi Raikkonen, 1m 18.735s, P3
Felipe Massa, 1m 19.048s, P6
Both Raikkonen and Massa complained of losing huge amounts of time exiting Turn 10. Each believe their car to have been capable of fighting for pole position, and the practice times bore that out, but the fact remains that Hamilton found the grip in all three qualifying sessions, especially on his last run when it really mattered, and they didn’t. The fascination in the race will lie in observing their individual strategies.

^^^yeah, it's funny how they didn't find the right way when Hamilton did!!! (Damn...)

I think it's really interesting that everybody complained about the track's conditions (especially the Turn 10) but Hamilton... I don't know what he has found (and nobody else found it...)??!!!

Track issues in Canada

The track surface at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is once again causing problems.

Following similar concerns in previous years, including in 2007, the dark-coloured repaired asphalt areas during qualifying on Saturday began to break loose, particularly at the turn ten hairpin but also elsewhere.

Mark Webber lost his chance to join the Q3 action after he crashed at the end of the second phase of qualifying, musing afterwards that competitors will need 'motocross bikes' rather than grand prix machines for the race.

Asked what effect the loose stones of broken track, swept off the racing line by marshals between qualifying segments, will have on driver mistakes on Sunday, the Australian answered dryly: "Good for the spectators.

World champion Kimi Raikkonen slammed the situation as a 'joke' after he slipped at the hairpin and trailed Lewis Hamilton's pole position by nearly a full second.

"It will be a nightmare in the race," the Ferrari driver added.

Toyota driver Timo Glock also predicted 'major problems' for the 70-lap Grand Prix, and team-mate Jarno Trulli described the issue as a 'huge concern.'

I also read that last year at this same time Alonso had 40 points, and now, guess how many he has.. 9. :giggle::eek:

 That was not so nice... For me Alonso is OK, especially this year, since unfortunately he doesn't have a competitive car. He does his job very well this year also. He gets good results in that poor Renault. He really is a great driver. They like each other with Kimi, I think Alonso looks at Kimi as his best and only one rival. (honestly now Kimi has at least 2 BIG rivals: Hamilton and Massa)

Seriously I started liking Alonso during last season, he behaved much better than in his championship winning Renault time IMO.

^^^I have exactly the same feelings Hanna! About Kimi, about Kubica, about Massa, about Alonso, about Rosberg, about Kovalainen. It's incredible, isn't it? But great minds think alike!

Edit:
Kimi and other pilots are complaining because of the track's bad conditions... Kimi said it was a bad joke to run on this circuit. (Massa shared his opinion)

Great minds indeed ;)

It's a shame if the track ruins some drivers' race. They should really put it in a whole new condition for next year..

Yeah, IMO he was such a diva back in the Championship days..

I've read somewhere that they will redo it for today's race!!! They have to work really fast!!!

yeah, he behaved the exact way like Hamilton behaves.

I like that Kimi is the same lovely little kid as he was in his first year in F1. That's why I love him the best, no doubt.

What do you think about today's race? Your expectations? Who will be 1,2, and 3????

Haha, and I forgot to tell you something funny... Our translator at the end of the press conference (after the qualifying) wanted to say that now Kubica and Kimi are going to say something in their own language, and he mixed their names and said: "Kimica"..... :toofunny: :toofunny:

I know, I love Kimi because of that too, he hasn't change even one bit.

LMAO at that mistake your translator did

My prediction:
1.Kimi
2.Kubica
3.Hamilton
4.Kovalainen
5.Massa
6.Rosberg

I hope the result would be:

1. Kimi
2. Kovalainen
3. Kubica
4. Massa
5. Hamilton
6. Alonso
7. Rosberg
8. Sutil (he could have at least 1 point after the unlucky race in Monaco :))

Have you also noticed that most of the time the reporters, commentators, etc. mention the drivers in their lastname but they always mention Kimi as Kimi and not as Räikkönen? Maybe it's because they pronounce Kimi easier than the name Räikkönen. For us Hungarian people, that's not hard at all, because we have "ö" in our ABC also. Most Hungarian people know that the "ä" should sound "e" and when there are 2 "k" characters, then it should sound like that. :)

Though we have own pronouncion for "ä", it doesn't sound "e" when I say Räikkönen

Damn you Lewis Hamilton !

But should I say - OMG and WOW what a race again! Like I said, I went to watch it in a movie teathre and I tell you it was AWESOME experience! I could feel my seat shacking and it was like I was driving the car!
Though there were only 12 MEN plus me watching the race, the athmosphere was great! We were like a little family!
When Hamilton pulled to Räikkönen's back, some people shaked their head, I was whispering "no no no" one man raised his hand to his head.. it was awesome! I didn't even have to pay for my popcorns, they came for free :)
Also the sound was perfect, and it didn't bother me at all that commentators were English.

Man, it was exiting race. Of course I'm unhappy because of what happened to Kimi, but good thing that Hamilton didn't get any points either. It was just stupid thing to do from Hamilton again.. Kimi is no 4th in the Championships, Massa and Kubica ahead of him, how did this happend?!

But anyway, I'm very Happy for BMW! Especially that Kubica was the one who won. Their first win and 2nd place too! Good job!:punk:

Massa did great job in the last laps and managed to get 5th which is OK.
Kovalainen, :pth: What the heck is wrong with Lady Fortune? Why doesn't Heikki get any luck in any races! I hope next season will be he's.

Bad luck for Piquet Jr. too. I hoped him to do well because he was driving amazingly among the many mistakes in the beginning :D

It was maybe a needed refresh to have other drivers in the top 3 aswell, so it's not always sames guys who hang there, also little excitement to the Championship, Kubica now leading!

I was just hoping that this time I got this great treatment it would have been great if Kimi would have won but actually the race was very exiting still after Kimi & Hamilton had stopped.
I didn't sometimes even notice that they weren't driving anymore.
Thanks to Kubica, Heidfeld, Massa and Kovalainen the race was still enjoyable. :)

Heads up for the next race!

Kimi's new boat, Sunseeker Predator 72 :punk:

Unfortunately the pic was taken when his boat was stranded.

These pics aren't taken from Kimi's boat, but you'll get the idea how his new boat looks like from the inside

Pretty cool, huh?!

Kinga, have you been thinking of buying Kimi's ex-boat, Princess V70? :D It costs only a little bit over 1,5 million euros and you can sit on a same couch where he has layed his butt on

It must have been a cool experience in the theatre. Will you go next time?

I don't have a word for this race! I'm speechless! ...and very sad...

Hamilton???!!!! I don't want to write it down what is in my head right now... Damn......

I'm wondering what Mr. Lauda said when this happened???!!! Fool Hamilton?? I don't think so.

Hamiton did ask for Kimi's apologise.. He said these things could happen... But I don't think so. I have been watching F1 for 20 years and I haven't seen such accident before... It was a BIG mistake, bigger than Kimi's at Monaco. Kimi was extra angry...

Guess what said one of our commentators: Kimi hit Sutil in Monaco, now Hamilton kicked off Kimi - what goes around comes around... It seems everybody hates Kimi... They weren't so angry at Hamilton like they were at the last race towards Kimi. I'm so sad.

Of course, I'm happy for Kubica and for the BMW team, it was a well deserved victory for them.

Massa was great! Wow! That double overtake in the hairpin... Simply amazing!

Kovalainen

Poor Renault team...

and finally POOOR KIMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  *cries* He is now only 4th but only 7 ponts behind Kubica. Still everything can happen...

Kinga, have you been thinking of buying Kimi's ex-boat, Princess V70? :D It costs only a little bit over 1,5 million euros and you can sit on a same couch where he has layed his butt on

Great offer... but I don't think so, I don't like the color of that boat  :toofunny:

Reeta, thank you so much for the pics! Looks amazing!

yay for Kubica:D!!!!

sorry for Hamilton (my second favourite)
.......
BMW has made history today!!!

^I know you'd come!!! Congrats to Kubica! It was a historical win for BMW and for Poland!!! Yay!

Oh, and I forgot to tell that Hamilton got a 10 grid penalty for the next race in France.

Ironically this accident was because of Sutil "so-called". Hadn't been his car broken, there hadn't been the safety car, Kimi and Hamilton hadn't been in the pit altogether...etc.

Here's a great review of the race by Evenstar Saima from KR Space. I don't want to steal her words so here it is in quote. I couldn't have said it better myself and I agree with every of her words!!!!!!!!!

"Hi everyone, now this is a race to talk about! Okay, it might not have been as mad as what we had in Monaco, but Robert Kubica takes his first ever F1 victory, BMW's first race win and with teammate Nick Heidfeld in second - superb. It was only a matter of time, and I've been very confident for BMW and Kubica in particular this year, and ahead of this weekend I had expected Kubica to seriously compete for the Canadian Crown. I have to say I'm extremely pleased for him and BMW and even more so that Kubica is leading the championship - why? Because it proves once again in Formula One that what goes around comes around and we should never be too sure about anything. And I'm also extra pleased that Hamilton's words from yesterday did eventually bite him in the backside, but how ironic was it that it was Kimi's backside that was bitten in the process! How annoying. Alas, what happened in Monaco came back to Kimi.

For Lewis however, he's had to taste fury from some higher power ever since his boastful manner yesterday, he's hopefully learnt not to be so proud and act humbly to his fellow sportsmen and most importantly to himself. Hamilton and Rosberg, who was also involved in the crash, have been given a 10-place grid penalty for the next race in France.

The race was bound to see the safety car jump in, but at what cause? Sutil's Force India, and despite being parked way out of harms way on from the track, the FIA felt the need to bring the safety car out. After what happened in Monaco, the safety car rules were criticised on having the pitlane closed when the safety car is out. The parked car was at no major harm in my opinion, yet the FIA felt they needed to over-control things yet again. I admit I found it very exciting when all the first 5 cars came into the pits when the safety car came back in - but why oh why had the race control felt the need to put the red lights on at the exit? Surely a very busy pitlane, with the teams and drivers panicking and rushing about getting ahead of the other cars, needed to be allowed to empty accordingly? By putting the red light on, they just caused an accident that shouldn't have happened.

We can be pleased that Kimi was using his wits (something he is often accused of not using) and stopped by the red light with Kubica also next to him. Hamilton, having bragged after the race about 'cruising' up until this point, must have been half asleep not knowing what on earth was going on around him. Surely, if McLaren were paranoid about a safety car period, Hamilton would have been too? Clearly, this wasn't the case, and Lewis tried to console himself by saying he would have won and that he was 'cruising'. Maybe he should learn to be a bit more humble next time, and for sure I will laugh at his race today for a while! Especially so, since he was joking before the race today with the ITV presenter about his father's Porsche crash earlier this week. Lewis said he found it funny and told him dad "How can you crash at 30mph?" - Lewis answered his own question today! Ha!

Back to the racing (I apologise for diverting to a anti-Hamilton rant but it's been over due), BMW saw their chance and grasped it with both hands. I cheered on Kubica till the every last corner and hoped nothing would ruin his moment. A small part of me wanted his teammate Heidfeld to take the win, as it's also long over due, but Kubica clearly had better pace and has been very strong all season. Heidfeld did a great job to keep second place and not make any mistakes despite struggling with the tyres this season, and Alonso looked very racey behind him in 3rd until he spun out. Renault were in for some big points today as they hoped but unfortunately you can get caught out anytime, anywhere. At least it wasn't in the pitlane at 40mph...

The start was very good, everyone drove well on the 'amended' track and there was no incident at first. Kimi had a good start and almost looked like he could squeeze past Kubica but knew better and settled to stay behind. From then, the field just spread out.

Massa gave Ferrari their only sight to cheer about when he successfully got past two cars infront when Kovalainen made an attempt to pass at the hairpin. Massa continued to push and did good managing to pass the Toyota for an extra point. Fifth place isn't much to cheer about though and Ferrari will be seriously gutted after showing some promising pace with Kimi earlier on. The Iceman looked set to challenge for the win as he set the fastest lap and caught up right behind Kubica until the pit lane incident. Seeing as they were both alongside, I think we missed out on a fantastic scrap between the two for the win. Such a shame. But I'm delighted it was Kubica's big day if not Kimi's.

Apart from BMW, Toyota were the other big winners today, with Glock and Trulli scoring 8 world championship points for the team. I was expecting both to spin out sooner or later having spent much of free practise spinning around, but they drove well towards the end with a charging Massa hungry to compensate for Kimi's and the team's loss. Honda scored two nice points today with Barrichello but I'm still confused as to whether they'll improve any further this year.

Red Bull and Coulthard were a delight to see on the podium again, but I'm sure Mark Webber felt he should have been up higher as well. And Vettel did a great job to hold off Kovalainen at the end after missing the final chicane.

McLaren suffered the greatest today, even their back up with Kovalainen couldn't salvage any points. This means BMW are looking ever more stronger in the constructors championship, being a mere 3 points behind Ferrari and way ahead of McLaren. Hamilton should have strengthened his grasp on the title lead after Monaco but destiny was in Kubica's hands and a thrilling championship battle is restored with a new contender.

Kimi set the fastest lap while he was flying and no one else could beat it. Again, and frustratingly, we never got to see his potential and his race strategy unfold. Blame Lewis all you like guys, but this is probably how fans of Sutil felt when Kimi hit him so never forget. I'm sure Lewis didn't do it intentionally! So don't be mad either. Kimi's body language and mannerism afterwards was calm and not intimidating, we should be the same. He probably told Lewis "Didn't you see the red lights? I was waiting". Hands up how many of us wanted to see Kimi head butt Hamilton? *Raises hand* Aye! But what good would that bring. Kimi knows all too well what setbacks are like when going strong. It happens and Lewis also apologised to Kimi. Be happy for Kubica who's won his first race! Always a joy to see.

Now we head to Magny Cours in France, where his took his revival victory last year after a dark phase, and he'll do it again this year hopefully. Kubica is 4 points ahead of Lewis, and 7 of Kimi. That means if he constantly scores podium despite Kimi or Lewis winning, then he may very well be champion - wow. It'll be hard to do but we were proved in Monaco and Canada, anything can happen so never lose hope. Keep flying Kimi! ~"

Agreed!!!!!!!!!!! 1000000000%!!!!!!!!!!!!!
