[Discussion] Sexual Abuse Claims Against MJ Estate - Robson/ Safechuck/ Doe

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

Correct me if im wrong but theres nothing to stop ppl who got settlements contacting this lawyer and testifying. I presume the law that states a settlement cant stop soemeone from testifying in a crim case also applies to a civil case?? If so then its obviously nothing more than a tacky publicity stunt

Well, they themselves state in their letter that it is illegal to keep child abuse settlements confidential. So, if they have anyone else who they feel is kept confidential from the public all they should do is to request the court to reinforce that law. But this is all just hot air. That's why they do it in the media and not in court.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

"I have read numerous media reports of multiple monetary or non-monetary settlements allegedly paid to little boys..."

I suppose they refer that Stacy Brown garbage piece "MJ paid 200 million hush money" that was flying across media:doh:

What about that California code thingy that they say it is illegal to make child abuse settlements confidential?
I cannot see such a thing in this list?
http://leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=ccp&group=01001-02000&file=1003-1008

I noticed the same thing straight away. Cleverly worded insinuation and manipulation.

It is CCP 1002.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

This is strictly a rhetorical question but, what does any of this have to do with who controlled Michael at his own companies? One of those companies that was formed after Wafe says he was abused?

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

I guess if the magically make loads of settlements appear from pre wade they can claim the companies knew about the cases or settlements therefore had a duty of care.

Mean while i see frank cascio is selling home movie of mj in a singapore hotel room with liz taylor at the height of the 93 case.making momey off one of the lowest points of mjs life. Whats hes gonna do when he runs out of things to sell.

He kind of refers to that:

The standard of proof is we have to prove the corporation knew or had reason to know that Mr Jackson was a pedophile before or during the time he was abusing Wade," he said.
"I want to go to the people responsible, the corporate officials and others involved who knew and did nothing - the people who stood by and watched those children be walked into that bedroom.

They aren't only looking for potential alleged victims but also corporate officials who would say they knew. The problem with that is that it would still not be enough for the case to go forward, unless they can also prove that offical had control over MJ who was the sole owner of the company and was in the power of hiring and firing him and placing him in other positions etc. And even the "know"/"reason to know" requirement is not that easy to meet. It isn't enough to prove people knew kids went to MJ's bedroom. They would have to have knowledge of previous allegations of sexual abuse. That's why they are desperate for these phantom victims and phantom settlements. Hoping to find such a settlement or allegation prior to when Robson's alleged abuse happened. I doubt they will find any such thing.

And frankly, this has been going on for three years. The original fake FBI files article in the Sunday People was published exactly three years ago. Then Robson's lawyer, Maryann Marzano vowed to dig up all those alleged victims. They haven't found anything in three years.

Plan B is to solicit as many alleged "victims" as possible with the promise of winning big money so that they would put such a public pressure on the Estate that they would settle the case.

Let's just say you find that person who said I knew or had a feeling, that person could do nothing to control the boss.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

And if they find that person, then that is the person they should be sueing not the companies. That person was negligent in not warning them. But then that person doesnt have a billion $ bank account.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

For me at least Joy Roberson's sorry attempt to engage Bret makes sense. I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut this lawyer has tried to or will be making an attempt to get to Bret

... imo, the thing is that all MJs lawyers should have been aware of the situation in the very early 90s and the law about companies responsible for anything with the settlement with Francia related to all next possible accusations..., especially after the gay rumours and relationships with kids in the (late) 80s.

Exactly. It is one thing to find a person who was employed by MJJP or MJJV and would be willing to say they suspected or even witnessed things. The question is: did they do anything with that? Did they report it to their bosses? If they just kept it to themselves then Robson can only sue them personally for negligence, but not the companies. Companies cannot guess what's on their employees minds. Based on precedents even company employees gossiping among each other is not enough. You have to have actual knowledge or a reason to know of concrete prior sexual abuse allegations against the defendant.

And Joy Robson is still a huge problem for them in this story. Didn't SHE see her son be "walked into that bedroom"? Wasn't SHE alright with it? Didn't SHE allow it? Wasn't SHE the one actually running after MJ to help them and bring them to the US? How are they going to pretend that distant employees of a company are responsible but the one person who was closest to the whole situation is not?

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

Does anyone else find this sentence illogical and senseless?

"If Michael Jackson truly had nothing to hide, then the Jackson Estate should have nothing to fear from allowing the families they paid off to speak out freely," said Robson's new lead counsel, John C. Manly of the Irvine, CA, law firm of Manly, Stewart & Rinaldi."

yeah..., how he could have paid anyone... to hide something if if he had had nothing to hide?
So he would pay off families.... for what? ... if there was nothing to hide..... voluntarily?

The more they try to infect the media and people with such BS stories, the worse for them, because ... the only revelation will be.. there is nothing relevant, no families (except of the Francia and Chandler), no pay offs.... no hiding...

and dont forget the media, those relevant that DO know about the facts and the circumstances about the 1993/2005 cases.

To me.. it seems like its the time how to clean MJ of the previous myths and secrets that destroyed him and his reputation.

The biggest problem for MJ was that all his lawyers and so-called advisors havent done anything to prevent any future damages after the first settlement with Francia and all the secrecy and "behind the scene" tactics were fatal.

And of course, MJ did nothing to stop it, and continued with such risk relationships with kids and weird families.
... so after all.... he is the only one who can be blamed for the situation in 2016.... and his legacy, which is sad and we as fans have to deal with that

Their game is transparent. The Estate will not be able to release anyone who doesn't even exist from confidentiality agreements. But the suggestion in this sentence is already there - the suggestion that "multiple victims" don't speak up only because the Estate doesn't allow them. When they just have nobody.

It is a dirty, manipulative media game by creating innuendo.

Alleged victims are allowed to speak freely in a court. They always have been. Jordan was sought out by the prosecution but refused to testify in 2005. Jason Francia did testify but was found not credible. So who exactly was "silenced"? The phantom victims in tabloid articles that no one ever saw? They should first prove they even exist.

Speaking generaily about confidentiality agreements, anyone signing such a thing does it voluntarily. No one is forced to go into a settlement. Anyone can say: I won't settle, I wan't my case be heard. So to act like a CA in a settlement would be something that MJ would force on alleged victims is a false portrayal of CAs in general. As we know both the Chandlers and the Francias were aiming for a settlement themselves. They initiated it! They never wanted their case tried in a court. (Well, Jason Francia's allegations were eventially kind of "tried" in 2005 and the Jury specifically pointed him out as one of the witnesses they had a hard time to believe.) They were after millions of dollars not the right to speak out. As is Wade himself as evidenced in his initial request of sealing the case.

BTW, I think spouting this hot air in the media may backfire on them in the long term.

Yeah good point

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

Reminds me of sneddons quote from 03 wr know theres more victims out there we just cant find them. Its like proving a negative. Prove there arent loads of victims out there.how do u prove something thst doesnt excist.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

I love how people like this lawyer act like Michael was not on trial in 05.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

I'm late on this... So Wade has new lawyers? Why? The others quit realized they would not win or to asswhipe fire them because he was loosing momentum? Either way the smear continues eh? This seems to never end.

While we don't cover famed lawyer John Manly—the attorney whom, with his partner Vince Finaldi and their indefatigable crew, blasted open the Diocese of Orange sex-abuse scandal—as much as we used to, it's not for a lack of stories on his part. Most recently, their firm Manly, Stewart, and Finaldi has been eviscerating the Los Angeles Unified School District over LAUSD's pedophile teacher scandal, and gone after kiddie diddlers and their protectors nationwide.

Now, the guys are setting their scopes at the most notorious accused celebrity molester not named Woody Allen: Michael Jackson.
In a press release posted yesterday, it was revealed that Manly, Stewart and Finaldi now represent Wade Robson, a successful choreographer who says Jackson molested him when he was seven all the way to 14. He filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court back in 2013 against MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures over the alleged abuse, and is now represented by Manly, Stewart, and Finaldi.
But for Manly, it's never about the money, but rather the unvarnished truth. That's why he's asking the Jackson estate to release anyone whom they settled similar cases with from confidentiality agreements in the hope that the truth about the King of Pop can come out. "If Michael Jackson truly had nothing to hide, then the Jackson Estate should have nothing to fear from allowing the families they paid off to speak out freely," Manly is quoted as saying.
From the press release:
In a letter sent today to attorneys representing the Jackson Estate, Manly noted that under California law it is "illegal to make a child sex abuse settlement confidential" and that "many large institutions in the business of protecting children have publicly released alleged victims from their confidentiality obligations when child molestation allegations have been settled." He went on to point out that "it is widely recognized that only in secrecy can child sex abuse flourish and continue."

One thing about Manly and Finaldi: They don't take on cases willy-nilly but rather only after a lot of deliberation and assurance that the victim's story is solid. Godspeed, gentlemen!

^ What a "professional", "unbiased" article. LOL. Obviously their buddies. OC Weekly is owned by an Irvine company and the lawyers are also from Irvine.

The lawyers were also involved in the Michael Egan case. They are shady.

Egan's and Herman's Credibility Issues

Last October, Egan was scolded by the federal judge in the Ancier countersuit, J. Michael Seabright, for lying to the judge in response to direct questions about who was writing his legal papers. It turned out that the papers were being ghostwritten by the Manly Stewart & Finaldi law firm which, like Herman and to some extent Gallagher, specializes in child sexual abuse cases.

Two months later, Egan was indicted on federal wire fraud and securities fraud charges in a 2007-12 scheme in which authorities say he lied and forged documents in order to ensnare investors. According to a pleading filed by Ancier, Egan bragged to a witness that "if all else failed," he could falsely accuse prominent Hollywood gay men in order to extract money. Egan pleaded guilty to conspiracy and awaits sentencing.

Egan has been represented by a criminal lawyer since at least 2012, suggesting that Egan may have known federal charges were in the offing even as he was bringing suit against Singer, Goddard, Ancier and Neuman.

Court documents in his criminal case disclose that the FBI has collected over 121,000 pages of evidence on Egan.

Vince Finaldi, a name partner in the Manly Stewart & Finaldi firm, previously told THR that Egan's indictment on charges of lying and forgery actually bolstered his credibility in Finaldi's eyes. "Even if the acts alleged against Mr. Egan, which we know nothing about, were true, then it would surely not mean he was not abused," said Finaldi. "To the contrary, it would corroborate his abuse."

Independent attorneys THR spoke to called that contention "asinine," "spin" and "circular reasoning." Finaldi accompanied his explanation with seemingly defensive paragraphs — unusually personal attacks on this reporter's character and a declaration that Finaldi had "honorably served my country" — while other responses from Finaldi, fellow name partner John Manly and a colleague were invariably laced with copious profanity and derision.

So lying only bolsters his credibility? No wonder they took Wade Robson's case then. LOL.

Still undisclosed is who met Egan first — Berg, Manly/Finaldi or Herman — and when they knew that Egan's 2014 claims were without support. When asked how Berg had found Egan, producer Hoffman hesitated, then said he didn't know. Also a mystery: Who's been paying the fees for Egan's criminal lawyer for the last two and a half years? Manly and Finaldi did not respond to a request for comment.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hollywood-sex-abuse-accusers-lawyers-800601

From the THR link to another article, explaining how they think liars are credible ehehehe and ghostwriting papers?

But at least one attorney takes a contrarian view. Vince Finaldi, whose firm was ghostwriting Egan's legal papers until the judge put a stop to it, told THR in an email, "even if the acts alleged against Mr. Egan, which we know nothing about, were true, then it would surely not mean he was not abused. To the contrary, it would corroborate his abuse."

That is, if Egan forged documents and lied about his finances, those falsehoods would demonstrate he was telling the truth about being abused. This is so, said Finaldi, because "abuse victims often times mimic the manipulative traits of their abusers."

It's not clear what "manipulative traits" Finaldi is referring to, other than the sex abuse allegations contained in Egan's own discarded lawsuits. So far as is known, Singer, Ancier and the other two men Egan accused — producer Gary Goddard and television executive David Neuman — have never been accused of fraud or forging financial documents.

Bakman, who is not connected to the case, was surprised by Finaldi's argument that Egan's alleged fraud and forgery would bolster his credibility.

"It's asinine," he said. "I'm certainly not in step with that assessment. Absent empirical evidence, I find it a tough sell."

"It's quite the spin," said Levenson. "That's the polite way of putting it. It's circular reasoning."

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

I wonder if he posted this now again because the rebuttal of the Radar Online story in the Huffington Post is starting to grow legs.

I swear none of MJ's accusers have sunk as low as Wade. He has no moral compass whatsoever.
Yes, I hate Wade the most out of all of them.

He is doing this to MJ's teenage grieving children.

I do not believe Jordan Chandler would ever have done this to MJ's kids.

That's so desperate on their part. They did not mention safef@ck, so he is probably still represented by the other losers.not like he has a chance really.

As expected, they discovered the existing "evidence" will not get them what they want, so they are trying to lure more people into accusing MJ with the promise of becoming millionaires. I just hope that the judge acts ethical and does not bend the laws like the judges in 1993 and 2003 did.

Judas Chandler only ruined MJ's life and caused his early demise. That money hungry son of bitch started it all with his father. Mj could have ended up in jail for 20 years still that scumbag could not care any less.

And hes had a chance to do the right thing since evan blew his head off but nope nada.

times like this I despair of human nature in that country when all you see is vile gready immoral leeches and equally the same vile money hungry lawyers who are quite happy to go along with such B.S knowing that lawsuits means a chance of millions.

He only reconciled with June after she testified against Mj. like father like son, both the scum of the earth.

Radar is one of the few media reporting it

Wade Robson Hires New Legal Team In Rape Claims Trial Against Michael Jackson’s Estate
'Only in secrecy can child sex abuse flourish,' blasts his lawyer.

Wade Robson Sex Abuse Civil Trial Against Michael Jackson Estate

Michael Jackson‘s young protégé is fighting the late superstar’s estate in a bid to uncover the truth behind accusations he was sexually abused in the 1990s.

RadarOnline.com has learned Wade Robson, 33, recently hired a top-notch legal team from the Irvine-based firm Manly, Stewart & Finaldi in his bitter fight against Jackson’s estate. Robson’s new advisors are already going after Jackson’s past with no holds barred by attempting to force his estate to release victims and their families from confidentiality agreements they signed in order to receive monetary settlements.

“If Michael Jackson truly had nothing to hide, then the Jackson Estate should have nothing to fear from allowing the families they paid off to speak out freely,” blasted Robson’s attorney, John C. Manly.

As part of Robson’s efforts to expose what he claims happened behind closed doors, the firm sent Jackson estate attorneys a letter dated July 13 citing California law that clearly states the illegality of making a “child sex abuse settlement confidential.” The letter also pointing out that “it is widely recognized that only in secrecy can child sex abuse flourish and continue.”

As Radar reported, Robson will head to trial next March in his civil case against MJJ Ventures and MJJ Productions.

Though a judge in the case originally dismissed the Australian dancer and choreographer’s rape claims in 2015, he refiled an amended complaint, which was then accepted by the court.

“Plaintiff Wade Robson has alleged sufficient facts of a business environment connection between him and defendants,” wrote Judge Mitchell Beckloff in his decision. “Certainly, there are allegations Michael Jackson sexually abused plaintiff prior to any business relationship.”

Lawyers for Jackson’s estate insisted at the time that Robson’s claims were invalid since the statute of limitations had expired.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

Wade's little fan club reporting it - no surprise there.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

yep. their pr release only resulted in 4 stories.

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

Good. I guess we wait now for the next stunt

Re: [Discussion] Wade Robson / James Safechuck file claim of sexual abuse against MJ-Estate

How can anyone believe these scumbags? No real victim plays things out in public. Yet here is Wade again seeking attention. He's more than happy to tell the whole world about his supposed trauma. You even had his sister promoting an article with 'anally raped' in the headline. Who does that?
