Did MJ Find Love In The Dark (continued)

I don't understand the languege, but I'm shure this song is about love and joyfullness!
I LOOOVE African music. It's just the core of musical energy if you ask me..
Remember Angelique Kidjo? A wonderfull singer and she's done a lot of charity work!
This song is from the early 90's.

Hey, I did not know Angelique and I had never heard this song , but I've fallen for her. Her voice is wonderful. :wild:

Michael would certainly love this song.

Thanks for posting! :D

I hope he would :)
Besides being a musical talent, she's also a very charismatic and beautifull woman I think.

I just found out that she made a song for Lion King 2!
In the movie its Simba who sings the song for his kid (or cub), but this version is the "original" song by Angelique Kidjo.

Wow, I love that song (and the movie too). lol! Now I know who is Angelique. :D

Hey, I want to contribute. lol! :D "Valsa de Eurídice (or Waltz of Eurydice)" is the Brazilian violinist and composer named "Baden Powell". This instrumental song is a favorite of mine because I have the habit of listening to it and be thinking of Michael. I always do that... And I think Michael would enjoy this song too.

Because if you stop to think
In fact there´s not "

yay! I found the translation of Angelique Kidjo's "Agolo" song. It turns out it IS about love :D
(I think this is a direct translation so the sentences can seem a little strange, but I think the general meening is comming through!)

Agolo (Peace)

Peace! Peace! Peace! Peace!

Do not worry yourself
Love for all the world
Do not forget love
Love for the house of our ancestors
Love of the world of home
Time is long for the world
Love of the world of home
Time is long for the world

Blessings, blessings
Blessings, blessings
Blessings, blessings
Love of the world
Blessings, blessings
Love, blessings, love, blessings, love, blessings
Love, blessings, love, blessings, love, blessings
Love, blessings, love, blessings, love, blessings

I know MJ must be smiling right now knowing that we are looking for and listening to all these lovely songs about love, joy, peace, the world, the planet and helping others. MJ definately left his mark on this world, and the world is a much better place because of his presence in it. Thank you MJ...you are beautiful.

Wow, so many wonderful things being shared round here, i see there are some travel plans made already lol. Only wanted to thank everyone for the amazing and inspiring vids posted, especially Sus and Safira.

If i remember correctly, at some point Susie referred to Lady in my life as a 'romantic' song. I would respectfully disagree, a romantic song by my definition would be 'one more chance' for example, the other one is a steamy piece of music, to put it mildly :p, especially with such a performance of human nature attached to it. And since i mentioned one more chance, here is a nice vid done for it. I saw this recently and so i thought it fit here nicely; i know the song has been discussed way back when.

One more chance Michael Jackson

Just for reflection:

"The biggest is the loneliness of being that does not love. The greatest loneliness is the pain of being that is absent, which is not defended, it closes, who refuses to participate in human life.
The biggest is the loneliness of the man closed in itself, the absolute itself, which does not give anyone who asks what he can give love, friendship and help.
The largest is the solitary who is afraid of love, which is afraid of hurting and hurting themselves, to be chaste woman, friend, people in the world. It burns like a lamp sad, sad reflection which also all around. It is the anguish of the world that reflects it. He is what he refuses to real sources of emotion, which are the patrimony of all, and ended its hard privilege sow stones from the top of their cold and desolate tower." (Vinícius de Moraes, Brazilian poet)

Interesting you should bring up loneliness, ashtanga 'cause just the other day I was thinking about the loneliness that MJ said he constantly felt and I thought that it seemed like a deeper loneliness than most of us feel and I wondered where it came from especially when you listen to a song like "Who Is It?" where he says, "I can't take it 'cause I'm lonely." It sounds to me like his loneliness was profound. Why do you think this was so? Was it just because of his isolation due to his fame, was it because he was so different, or something else?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Well, I believe that before becoming a father, Michael felt a deep loneliness. Yes, he was a very different and so maybe he was looking for someone like him to be by your side, but he never found. Isolation .... I'm sure Michael often felt like an anonymous person to be able to go out and do all the things he could do for being a celebrity. But I think the word "isolation" is too strong a word. He was never alone and isolated. He just got quiet a few times in his world. Michael has always been very involved with the world and with fans. He had contact with all things and knew what was happening. And after Michael became a father, he was never really alone because he was with his precious children  and surrounded by love, it would be impossible to feel lonely. But the solitude of a woman's love, certainly yes.

It's just my opinion.

This is a pretty good response. I personally feel it may have come from feeling "different" more than anything else. Eventhough he was always surrounded by a lot of different people indeed, I think he really didn't have anyone he felt he could really relate to or anyone who could relate to him, and this is where I believe his loneliness came from - for the most part.

I thought you were disagreeing with me. lol! :wild: Thanks for agreeing with me. :D

The part in bold red in your post... It is just that and that's what I always thought too. Things can never be 100% perfect in life. Whenever there's something that needs to be filled in our lives...ALWAYS.

Well, can I butt in? Here I go... I think loneliness / isolation goes far beyond company! Even though we are always surrounded by wonderful people, sometimes our hearts feel empty, alone, abandoned. I know how wonderful is to have the company of a child! God only knows how I'm happy to be with my son! But even with a love so grand, so sincere and unconditional like that sometimes I just feel alone! And no matter what I do or who is with me, the feeling of being isolated from the world is big! I think loneliness / isolation is a disease like depression! Maybe loneliness isn't linked to love...I don't know....maybe my thoughts will not make too much sense! Oh, boy! Who am I! Where am I? :p

I said in my post:

He just got quiet a few times in his world.

This may have happened for several reasons, not necessarily just because of love.

:)

uhhw
I wish I could hug him.. I think he gave a lot of hugs to people, but sometimes he also needed to recieve a hug..

hmm.. You really think that what he felt was so far from what other people feels?
Everyone feels lonely and different sometimes.. Ofcourse, there was only one king of pop, only one person with that life. A different life that most people wont be able to understand the meens of.

I like that you mention that song because I've thought a little about it in the past. I think I understand his feelings in that song.. It's just difficult for me to describe feelings with words. Well he did it so brilliant himself in that song

*listens closely to the lyrics again* yes it's very clear to me..

The energy in the song is very selfdestructive I think. He has had enough of this ever-lasting hard life where he, for some reason, always feels alone..

"this is'nt justice, woe on to thee, i pray this punishment would have mercey on me"
Clearly he is so devastated that he almost feels cursed.
I think many people have felt this feeling? I shure have.. Sometimes it's like the world falls apart and all sorts of bad stuff happens.
But the reason that he feels so alone in this song is because he is so blinded by his pain.. And he wont listen. It's like he choose to feel alone!??

Someone needed to step in and say "HEY mister goodlooking fella'. You are not running away this time!!" :giggle:
And now we are btt - Did this woman come into his life? Did he indeed have this love in the dark that would've suited him so much?
I certainly hope so.

Am I being overanalythical again now? Sorry.. :ninja:

Loneliness can be a lifestyle almost. It can become a self-image.

Oh, honey...I think exactly the same of you!!!! There is more than we can imagine or feel about this isolation! Is more complicated than it seems!

Ok then I was'nt speaking too wierd then lol

The mind of the human is very complex! Not only with Michael. Different circumstances creates different mind-sets, different obstacles for a person to handle emotionally.

I STILL think it is very important to remember that Michael was a human being like everyone else. His brain was coping with things like any brain would have done see? Only difference is the environment that the human being Michael Jackson was living in. (not thinking anything negative here). The ONLY difference between Michael and ANY OTHER human is that he was a pop icon.
In psychology you work with a person in a very simple way.

A person has a behavior-pattern, this behavior pattern is created by the brain to make the person less vulnerable (very roughly speaking here). Every action, and this goes for any creature with a brain, is having its roots in a behavior-pattern that the brain has thought up, created based on experiences, to make the person less vulnerable.

When a deer runs away as soon as it hear a noise fromt another animal - that is a behavior-pattern. "fear - RUN!"
When a person is nervous when they go to an exam - a behavior-pattern. "fear - RUN!"
This is very basic though.. But it creates and understanding, hopefully :)

The brain works the same if its inside the head of a little girl in china or inside the head of a mega star Michael Jackson.

So, Michael might have felt lonely and different but he was never different. His life was different, but HE was'nt.
