Vic, You could post here more often, your posts are always welcome! Thanks for sharing! That was incredible.
Thank you. This is the ONLY way I've found to make sense of Michael's death. We must IMPROVE ourselves. Michael was about primarily TWO things.
Identity, and love. In terms of identity, he felt he had a right to express himself.
A RIGHT, to do that, as himself and no one else. He had a human right, to do this.
Anyone who blocked that self-expression, was NOT good? Did he have complete self-knowledge? I don't know. I think he was a work in progress?
The second thing, is love. . . we face challenges, daily. We feel, often, that we are RIGHT, and that justifies our bad treatment of other people. It also leads to wars. . that sense of intrinsic "rightness." I've been very distressed at the reactions to the TINI thread, actually.
These are people. . . who have put themselves on the line. You may not agree with them, but a lot of the reactions TO them are so NOT Michael. The worst I ever heard him say, was "devilish."
For Michael's death to have meaning, we must CHANGE, and improve.
Personally, I fear the weak people in the world, more than the obviously evil. We can protect ourselves from the evil ones, because they are obvious. The weak? They do NOT stand up for what is right. They do NOT put themselves on the line. But, Michael, himself, always did. . We need to dig deeply, and follow his example, even if it's not always the comfortable thing to do?
So I say . . . peace. . for Israel and Palestine. For north and south Ireland. For the U.S. and the Middle East. For Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, and Wiccans. We must find common-ground. We must step UP when help is needed. . emotional help, spiritual help, and whatever else. We must LIVE Michael's example, not just waste our time talking about it. We must LIVE it?
