Human Nature is also a song we are very familiar with so we had a point of reference to compare it to. We don't have anything to compare this to in terms of a similar style. We don't even have an original voice recording. Who knows what type of equipment the Cascio's have to record things. Who knows what MJ's ultimate goal was.

This is all so confusing. I really don't feel well.

Your right dangerous dave..It's just...I am beginning to believe it is Jason Malachi..or someone else..the more I listen to it...it just doesn't seem like it is Michael's voice....

All the concerns the family had..the tweets by them...I think I believe them..

I've gone back on the fence about this again... I've listened to 2000 Watts a load of times again today and I think more bits than I originally thought sound like MJ...

The verses which do seem unlike MJ's voice sound echoey with heavy background noise and vocals... I don't know it that's because it was poor quality or if it is infact not Michael singing, either way it's genuinely a tough one to call with no real idea what Michael's recording voice was like at this period

i'm still on the fence. not over the vocals, i believe that the lead vocals are an older, slightly different sounding mj, but the over production and questionable backing vocals over power it to much and its hard to enjoy the track. I also don't like the sampled woo's and hee hee's. they clearly weren't on the origin al recording, so why add em? and have the tabloid junkie ripp off intro was a mistake.

I get your point. But that means that they DID plan to fool us with non MJ songs.
We know Breaking News will not be the first single of the album, so maybe it was a test.. and they failed, cause it's obviously not MJ 100% in the song.

But then.. why TRY to do this (well, yes for money), why test the fans, and others, witht his song, checking the reaction.

Do they plan to ruin MJ's legacy with something like ''Fans don't want new songs, they think it's fake, so for the future albums we have with the contracts, we'll just release greatest hits? COULD THAT BE POSSIBLE???

I also think some bad shit was made with michaels voice but i am sure the raw voice is anyway michael jackson and noone else!! they wouldnt be able to FAIL that much... anyway its sad enough to change michaels voice in such a strange way :/

but pls dont boycot the whole album!! -.-

so looking forward to hear stuff like another day or hold my hand new version...

OMG "Do You Know Where Your Children are?" is so amazing....Why the heck didn't Sony use that instead??

For Breaking News..There may be some Michael Vocals, but they seem to...but they are pretty faint to the lead vocals.. :( ..I'm thinking it truly is that Jason Malachi guy..ugh...Sony..what the hell is wrong with you.

They did apparently listen to the "acapella" version. There is no use trying to convince anyone either way. We just don't have enough information at this point to shoot down anyone's claims, universally. I hope we get more information soon. :sigh:

Hopefully the mix will be more MJ heavy on the album version.

Maybe even without the intro, which is a little corny after a few listens.

I heard the song, and while it's a nice song; it's definitely not our Michael Jackson. They might have thrown some real Michael's voice in it. It might have been some unfinished Michael's work. They had someone completed it and technologized it to sound like the real thing. But they only got closed. They lied!

First of all, I don't really agree... And secondly, Sony just wouldn't risk being that humiliated. It can easily be proven that it is him, you just have to do a voice analyze thingy... I don't know. It doesn't sound like him, but on the other hand.. Sony has so many unreleased real MJ songs, why would they release a fake one?

Let me tell you why.... because, to the question ''Do you know where your children are?'' most of people (non-fans) would answer ''In Michael Jackson's bed''

Even if the song sound really good.. the cliché is just too easy to make for haters...

I dismissed all of the gossip about "Breaking News" not being Michael as the usual family and conspiracy crazy talk. When I first heard the song I loved it and was so excited until about half way through it dawned on me that it really didn't sound like him in parts. I didn't want to think that. I listened over and over, trying to convince myself that it was him. I am not a Sony conspiracy theorist. Honestly, I would like nothing more than to be proven wrong. I hope they release the original demo without all of the processing, then it would be easier to tell.

Its always the same. There will always be the fans that wanna look for trouble in everything. We had all this same kinda crap back when Invincible came out. People, myself included briefly, doubt his vocals on certain tracks(2000 watts, heavan can wait in places and privacy) and started the bashing then, harming an already badly promoted album even more. But we now KNOW that its him on those tracks, just with different vocal effects than we were used to. and then again with This is it and all the claims he was a body double for most of it. I think what i want, listen to what i want and let no one tell me how much of a fan i am. it is definitely MJ on breaking news, so get used to it!

The family are the worst of all. Ever since they found out MJ left em **** all, they've done nothing but try to sabotage everything that is being done in his name now. its frankly pathetic. I feel sorry, once again, for his poor kids, who are once again being used to garnish extra support from fans. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they ain't even heard the song yet, let alone formed a viable opinion on it.

Exactly! The media is going to have a field day with the headlines of ''JA**O USED SINGING IMPERSONATOR DURING HIS FINAL YEARS'' Because of the rabid fans who keep announcing to the world it's FAKE not MJ VOCALS!

Breaking news is a good track and fits well. They couldve brought out MJ's vocal in the mix a bit more and gone a bit lighter on the layering, but I like it, and now that I've been convinced it's real I for one am going to enjoy it.

Really? I wanna hear the real raw demo then.

One time I was working on a video from a seminar. There was nasty background noise from the hotel air conditioner that I had to remove. But the more I'd remove the hissing, the more the speaker's voice was distortioned so I had to find a happy medium to keep the voice integrity so I couldn't remove the noise completely. Cleaning audio noise and keep MJ's voice intact must've been tricky.

Maybe Sony should've promoted this song as a duet with ?? :)
