I'll turn that question around -- why would Francesco Cascio, who was there with MJ for four months, in his own home, recording songs, and Teddy Riley, who worked with MJ for many years and who produced the song, say it's real if it is not?
And why would Sony, who reportedly paid 250 million for the complete catalog of MJ's unreleased material, risk bringing in an impersonator and release a song with vocals that do not belong to him, thus ruining their credibility and risking the album's success?
Mind you -- I have not made a decision yet on whether I think it's him or not. Vocally it sounds very different from what we're used to hearing from MJ, which is damned confusing. But common sense and logic dictate that it must be him. It does not make sense for people who worked with him (and remember, his family has NOT for many, many, many years -- 3T and Janet were the last ones, and that was 15 years ago) and who admire and respect him, to lie about this. It just doesn't. And it also doesn't make any sense for Sony to take such an enormous and potentially destructive risk like hiring an impersonator to "finish" the song.
