I'm becoming more convinced that being able to hear one voice from another is not a given for the entire population. It's true that we don't all have the same skills at everything. For example, visual depth perception, wine tasting or face recognition. I think of a few people I know (adults, lol) who seem to have problems recognizing actors and actresses in films. "Look! It's Meg Ryan!" ... huh? That's not Meg Ryan! ... "Yes it is!" .... no, it's not! .... "It's definitely her". But it's
not. It's someone who
kind of looks like Meg Ryan. Some people can taste when cooking oil is just starting to go rancid, while others will eat it up saying, "mmmm, tastes fine to me!". And perception of fine differences in voice is seemingly not quite the same thing as the ability to hear proper pitch, but something that's more subtle, like the way you can't understand lyrics when you're 10, but hear the same song years later and they're crystal clear to you. Practice, maturity, fine-tuning. It's why many native speakers can understand the garbled speech of small children while someone newer to a language is like, "Huh?"
In any case, 'Breaking News' does
not contain MJ lead vocals and the
majority of us could tell the very moment that damned song began that it was NOT Michael Jackson singing. Because it's NOT Michael Jackson singing! There are
samples of him in there, cut and paste style (uh, heee, etc), but
that's it. The main vocal is SOOOOOO not MJ that it's nearly impossible to comprehend how it's not blatantly, insanely
obvious to everyone. Even my mother could hear it (and she's not a fan)! I
know that's not MJ and no one at Sony who declares it's him to cover their own a$$es and no expert bought off by Sony to cover their a$$es is going to make me accept an imposter and the tarnishing of Michael's legacy like this. It's twisted and sickening. He doesn't deserve that and neither do we. What's next? They bring in a look-alike and declare his death was a hoax and he's just been away having some plastic surgery (hence why it doesn't exactly look like him anymore)??? How many would believe it then? And attack the rest of us who could easily tell it wasn't Michael? I guess about 25% or so.
I know someone's probably going to be offended now, but dangit, it's the
truth and I'm getting so exhausted by this. I'm just looking for an
explanation, some
reason why not everyone can hear the difference. Is it like being able to tell one shade of blue from another? Not everyone can. No one wants to be told that
they're the one who's ears aren't working, but... hello. Think of how many times people were quick to declare a Jason Malachi track as "MJ". How come some have to listen repeatedly to a fake track to determine "if" it's MJ, while others know immediately? MJ's voice is very distinct and he had his own pronunciation, enunciation, vibrato, tone, etc, no matter which "style" he was singing you could still tell it was MJ! People bring up the 2000 Watts thing. Ummm... I could tell right away it was still
Michael, good grief.
Now the next question is...
who did this and why???! Who put the fake vocals on it? Cascio? Or Sony? And is Sony STUPID or DEVIOUS? Or both?
