LOS ANGELES – State investigators probing the death of Michael Jackson have decided not to file charges against seven doctors who treated him, authorities said Wednesday.

The doctors were part of an investigation by state Attorney General Jerry Brown's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, spokeswoman Christine Gasparac said.

One doctor whose name was not released has been referred to the California Medical Board for prescribing drugs to a Jackson alias, she said.

Candis Cohen, a board spokeswoman, declined to confirm the action, saying complaints and investigations were not public record.

Jackson's personal doctor, Conrad Murray, has pleaded not guilty to felony involuntary manslaughter in the singer's death. Authorities say Murray provided Jackson with a mix of sedatives, including a powerful anesthetic that killed him.

Los Angeles police who investigated the death had asked state and federal investigators to look into the prescribing practices of doctors who previously treated the 50-year-old pop star.

The federal Drug Enforcement Agency has also stopped investigating the actions of any other Jackson doctors, agency spokeswoman Sarah Pullen said.

The state investigation included the search of a prescription drug database that tracks doctors who prescribe controlled substances. The database also monitors the quantity and recipients of those drugs.

The media lies that MJ was getting pills from every freaking DR in CA and beyond. No doubt the media will sweep this news under the rug.

BRIAN OXMAN relentlessly pushing the JACKSONS agenda that MJ was a massive abuser of drugs.

Brian Oxman, you lying bastard. MJ did NOT abuse drugs. as for everything else..hey..why would i be surprised? the government doesn't care about Michael neither does the AP for that matter.
 
Just shows that Michael was not doctor shopping was not an addict in denial and was like his autopsy said taken care of himself. And this also takes a defence away from Murray. And I hope certain members of Michael's family pay attention to this. And shut the @#$% up Oxbrain

Well everybody pretty much saying what I am thinking and that's the reason why I posted the article! That it put's a whole in the theory that he was a pill popper and after all these doctors!

Seven of Michael Jackson doctors will not face criminal charges

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- A doctor who prescribed drugs to Michael Jackson using a fake name shortly before the singer's death could be disciplined by the California medical board, the state attorney general's office said.

None of the seven doctors and one nurse investigated by the state will face criminal prosecution, according to Christine Gasparac, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Jerry Brown.

Dr. Conrad Murray, who was Jackson's personal physician when he died a year ago, was not part of the probe, Gasparac said. Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter earlier this year in the entertainer's death.

The Los Angeles Police Department asked the California Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement to investigate the prescription practices of seven doctors and a nurse, she said.
"After reviewing hundreds of pages of records and documents obtained from the medical practitioners, the attorney general's office has referred one doctor, who wrote prescriptions to an alias known to have been used by Jackson, to the California medical board for further review," she said.

Investigators did not find sufficient evidence to recommend criminal prosecution of any of the medical practitioners, she said.

She would not identify the doctor referred to the medical board for consideration of administrative action or the others who were cleared.

State drug agents executed search warrants at several doctors' offices last summer and at least one pharmacy.

Agents spent several hours inside the Mickey Fine Pharmacy just below the Beverly Hills practice of Dr. Arnold Klein, Jackson's dermatologist.

Investigators also visited Klein's office, where Jackson was seen several times in the weeks before his June 25, 2009 death.

Klein told CNN last year that he never prescribed dangerous drugs to the singer.

Searches of Jackson's rented mansion revealed a long list of prescription drugs in his bedroom after his death, according to court documents and the autopsy report.
The Los Angeles County coroner ruled that Jackson's death was from an overdose of propofol, a powerful anesthesia used to put surgical patients to sleep.

A consultant's report included in the autopsy said the level of lorazepam, a powerful anti-anxiety agent found in Jackson's body "would have accentuated the respiratory and cardiovascular depression from propofol."

During the course of their inquiry last summer, investigators asked—among others— rheumatologist Allan Metzger, dentist Mark Tadrissi, nurse Cherilyn Lee, dermatologist Arnold Klein, anesthesiologist Randy Rosen, and ear, nose and throat specialist David Slavit to turn over all of their records pertaining to the King of Pop.

I think Arnold Klein is an evil man and he did contribute to Michael's death a lot. But I always knew it would be close to impossible to prove it, so I'm not surprised. But nobody escapes the punishment they deserve. If not in this world, then in the next.....

And I don't think Murray was the first and only to use things like Propofol on Michael, I really don't.

according to the above parts there's not sufficient evidence that Michael is over prescribed or was prescribed a medicine he wasn't supposed to get for any condition he might had.

the only issue seems to be use of alias rather than his real name.

and Oxman please shut up.

legally speaking and looking to the events: if even any doctor over prescribed or prescribed medicine that Michael wasn't supposed to get , they wouldn't be charged with IVM or murder as Michael died solely because of propofol given by Murray - not because of any other medicine given by any other doctor.

the only possible action against those doctors was to investigate them and if there was evidence to suspend or revoke their medical licences.

Michael wasnt & thats why they these Dr's are not being charged _ MJ was not a drug addict

BRIAN OXMAN reresenting Joe Jackson is upset over other Drs not being charged with suppplying drugs to MJ because Oxman was pushing agenda that MJ was a massive abuser of drugs to help shore up the civil suit against Murry AEG and others. The autopsy and this evidense here shows MJ was not drug shopping or abusing other drugs.

Oxman will use & taint MJs legacy and reputation with his drug addict agenda for their own $$$$$ gain.

Benzodiazepine effect was also mentioned in the coroner's report.

Just to clarify, I do not support a drug addict theory. and I agree with you that propofol was the main cause. But Murray gave Michael other drugs as well, and as far as I understood from the coroners' report, these drugs were also a factor somehow.

A combination of drugs killed Michael. That's what happened. And I remember an actual doctor coming on CNN and even saying that with his own lips. That the combination of drugs killed him.

Propofol alone did not cause him to go into respiratory failure and eventaullly stop breathing.

Yes, it was the main factor because so much was given. But even though so much was given, when that drug mixed with Lorazepam, THAT IS WHEN respiratory failure hit.

And I don't see how that would help the drug addict theory. I think it would only tarnish Murray's image and not Michael's. Michael didn't give those drugs to himself. This was the doctor injecting all those drugs into another person. With his medical knowledege, he chose to inject all those drugs.

Murray gave michael multiple benzodiazepines before the propofol. Benzodiazepines slow you breathing so even though Michael was wake the effects of the other drugs in his sytem were to taking place so when Murray administered the propofol it was the straw that broke the camel's back. If murray had the proper equipment he would have know michael's oxygen levels and he could have been warned when his breathing was decreasing and he would have been able to revive him once he went into cardiac arrest.

the whole thing is clouded. nobody is giving a definitive thing here. even the coroner report doesn't define for sure, what was the 'straw the broke the camel's back.' but the misuse of propofol is clearly not disputed. misuse of other drugs is not at issue.
