I can't believe it was actually for the album, I thought it's some fanmade thing at first. You know, one of those tracks fans ruin on purpose so they can be the exclusive owners of the original... I was really surprised to learn Tricky made it for "Michael".

Yes, version that leaked in 2011 is Tricky Stewart 2010 Mix. Don't know the exact reason why it failed to make it to the album but probably Sony wasn't satisfied. And I can understand it. It's very amateur and techno (MJ is not techno artist). Similar thing happened with Hollywood Tonight. Song was first given to Neff-U. Sony wasn't satisfied and gave the song to Teddy Riley (although Teddy kept some elements from Neff-U version). For the next project they decided to discard Tricky's version completely and give it to Timbaland. Songs co-writter and original co-producer (L.A. Reid) personally gave song to Timbaland.

Bieber version is an unofficial remix of Tricky's version. That version have nothing to do with Michael Jackson or Sony. Something like that No Friend Of Mine remix of Blue Gangsta.

Would be cool if there is an announcement on the 31st of this month. Hope is being diminished right now. All we can be certain is about, is the Brooklyn Thriller tribute album but it would be nice if there was a posthumous album coming.

I think it is 100 % safe to say that an ALL new MJ album is coming this year! - ALL new songs (as in never officially released before!) So many rumours and talk from people involved - Timbaland etc. etc.

SO it is absolutely sure a new posthumous album is coming !! - STTR being used in a SONY commericial puts it in stone that it is not too far away!!

I think you are right. And i also had this thought... It's pretty obvious, he can't say he talked about his own project, when the context clearly shows that the topic was the MJ unreleased album.

IMHO our lovely Qbee may also know more, because in some posts of her it clearly gave the impression that she knows at least a little more than we do. But thats fine, cause they (also ivy & gaz of course) are running this beautiful thing, which is MJJC! So the leaders should have access to a little more info. And if teasing is the way to go, then it is what it is...

I just hope that we hear something very soon, it's been a long (loooooooong) time & i'm not known for being overly patient. On the other hand, what can i do? Nothing i guess ;-)

Not true unfortunately. When Michael met with Rodney Jerkins in spring 1999, their first idea was to make music that was more old school and nostalgic, using Off the Wall as a reference point. You Rock My World is the first song Michael recorded with Rodney, and that song screams a modern OTW.

True. Michael did make an approved mix in 1994. But as Omir said, Michael changed things sporadically. I guarantee that if MTS was ever released in Michael's lifetime it would have sounded nothing like mix #9 (which was just a vocal comp of five existing takes with Jeff Mirinov on guitar).

Besides, MTS sounds better in it's final album version. There is a version floating around made from the multi tracks that is essentially the 1994 mix given that it's the same guitar and same vocal take and it's irrevocably boring. No intrigue or emotion to be honest. The album cut brings in bass, strings, harmonica...there is more depth there.

I said a week before Days In Gloucestershire leaked that it would be leaking. Now, I have info that Can't Get Your Weight Off Of Me will be leaking within the next month.

I've been told that it is around 4:50. So, stay tuned.

I am not exactly for sure when and by whom it will leak. I know "they" are planning on leaking it after the new album is announced, but before the release of it. I personally don't want it to leak, but I do want to hear it.

Technically, it already did leak on 4shared, but it was removed. I still have the link and when you click on it, it says it was removed by Web Sheriff.

Basically I don't hype for that song because you can't judge it from that tiny snippet already...a good example was the hype for "Don't be messing round" and we all know what did it turn to be

Who knows, MAY be CGYWOM will sound like the song "invincible' (the worst in the album IMO ) OR EVEN WORSE...or may be better...I am just giving an example

BTW, I think the new album will come out the same day as the new Motown/Universal album, so April 21, 2014. Bad25 came out the same day as The Rare Pearls album.

My hopes for the new album are 1) that it has more of the "feel" of Michaels other albums for instance the first track always set his albums off with a bang (DSTYGE, WBSS, Bad, Jam, Scream, BOTDF, Unbreakable) but this didnt happen with "Michael". 2) That there is a better overall strategy for the release of singles, short films and promotional material; taking BAD25 as an example: the Pepsi cans thing didnt really work, the film was premiered way before the album and then on TV too far away the release date. Dont get me started on the DVD/ Bluray release (will we ever get to the bottom of that one?) However my feelings are that this is going to be much better organised and I am looking forward to an album we can all be proud of. L.O.V.E to all

'Can't Get Your Weight Off Me' appears to be a fantastic song and we should NOT advocate our wishes to it leaking. It's fairly believed that it will be included on this new album, and i think it could be a song that the whole world will admire.. I re watched THIS IS IT! last night and the way Michael interpreted new dance moves instead of just walking around the stage for a few seconds (on i.e HIStory Tour) was outstanding and you could tell that his voice was becoming perfect again. My point is, song's like this should be played on radio stations and promoted endlessly.

Had a dream last night about STTR showing up on some music channel. Guess what? It was a music video where Will.I.Am, Kanye West, Snoop Dog and some other guy sang it. The song had MJ's ad libs throughout it and the instrumental was slower and more "hip hopish".

I was so mad, let's hope my dreams won't come true in this case

Hahahaha, yes... That's one of my favourites from the album! :blush: Everyone has different tastes, so I'm sure we won't all be satisfied, whatever it sounds like.

Anyway, I think most of us are in agreement here that we don't need any more songs leaking right now.. and especially not once the album is announced.

Ah yeah, i'm almost certain that Bruce Swedien didn't allude to the version we got on Bad25 when he said that it was a masterpiece.

It's simple as day, if it does leak you are responsible for your actions.
