Hey, uh, can we stay on topic? It's gotten beyond the point of annoying to be scrolling through the thread and see random conversations going on. As everyone continually says, take it to the Xscape valve.

Lighten up, it's funny! :doh:

If something newsworthy happens then all of the random conversations will no doubt stop and everyone will be talking about it, so there's no chance you'll miss anything. It's helping the time pass.

Going to be tough getting the new music tomorrow if the show's at 4-7am but I think if I wake up early I should catch the last hour, if I did, is it likely to be at the end?

Most of the time when I want to wait for a specific thing during stuff like this, it's always at the end (with my luck :bored2:). But I'm hoping it'll be during it at least.

Most of the conversations do stay on, or pretty close to the topic. It does veer off once in a while but always finds it way back. If you are looking for information that is strictly news and absolutely no discussion whatsoever, there is a thread for that: Xscape News Only [no discussion].

Funny crosses a point though. And we literally just found out yesterday about the new single (or, rather, confirmation of it), and this stupid conversation is continuing. This is where we can talk about the album, express how excited we are for it, etc., not to screw around with off topic posts.

It's not about not wanting to read discussion, it is about wanting to read discussion related to the album.

Plenty of posts have not even the slightest to do with the album or MJ anymore, but are just random absurdist posts. Several people have complained that the constant offtopic posts here annoy them, but they either get told to lighten up, replied to with sarcastic responses like "apparently we are not allowed to laugh here," mocked for pointing out that it is against board rules, or just ignored.

I don't mind the posts themselves but don't see why they have to be in this topic, when a topic was specifically made for offtopic banter during the countdown to the album. But ah well...

One of the rules is to stay on topic!! Off topic posts is OFF LIMITS! People who are not obeying the rules, this is a waste of precious space on this board! Gaz and his staff are struggling to keep this board online, so don't act spoiled.

If I had the money I would donate... But I can't. :(

Well what is really off-topic? If you target only absurd posts or jokes in this thread, then what about discussions such as various headphones, Bruno Mars, Paul Anka debate, things repeated over and over again about LNFSG, etc...

Anything can be off-topic actually, and the worst thing is that as there is almost no news whatsoever, except few drops, there is almost nothing to talk about except speculating, which at the end of the day is contrary to the real topic - NEWS, not rumors, but NEWS.

I am telling you, if we strictly stick to the on-topic discussion - the NEWS - this thread would be empty.

So, instead of making this thread/forum empty, why not socializing the time the album comes out? What harm can it actually do? If we reduce the thread to speculation, we won't learn a damn thing, then it would be better to simply go to the NEWS no discussion section and read that thread and refresh it as often as we want without being bothered by any sort of discussion.

Well if we refrain from posting then the threads get closed or forgotten. So what is better for this web site, to post and make it alive and kicking or each of us to shut up and read empty pages?

There is a difference between off topic and socializing with other members in this thread. You all want a hype, but you chase away the members from the thread.
