It looks like Slave to the Rhythm is around 5:09, which is impressive.

In any case, I love the single cover. Very graffiti-inspired, and I love the textures they put in (the giant POP, the album cover, Michael's feet towards the bottom). I'm wondering though if they're considering changing the title to The Rhythm of Love, given that it's what's on the cover. If not, there's gonna be a significant amount of confusion.

I like the covers (if they actually are the single covers they will use). It's a big improvement from their "usual" single covers. It could only be better if it was something artistic with an actual "real" and recent picture of MJ.

Before I see the argument that Michael's face isn't used on this single, let's not forget that only Michael's eye was ever utilized on singles for Invincible.

These covers are quite boring unfortunately (imo), but I admit there was some kind of concept behind it (whole face on album cover, singles the eye).

HMH was ok, HT was a bit "cheap" imo.


So, I'm glad about this new direction :)

Especially the Cry single wasn't an eyecatcher. It took me some time 'till I had localized it among the other cds in the store.

Yeah, cry was way to dark, they should use bright colors like orange or something.

Maybe because MJ didn't look his best during that period. Recent years, he looked great.

And I'm starting to hope this album leaks as soon as possible because May is too far away!!

Oh, yeah it's true. The word positioning and the cone makes him look like Marvin the Martian. :lol: But the artist also changed his lips and ruined them, those aren't Michael's.

I wouldn't even say that. I hate every photo shoot I've seen from 2003 onward. Maybe it was because of the photos themselves; maybe it was because of Michael himself. But in any case they're all embarrassing.

And this album should not leak until it's released early in another country. Leaks do hurt album sales.

Seriously? Who cares? Honestly, I prefer this single Photoshop deal than almost any photoshoot Michael was involved in post-2003. His face looks smooth, his eyes draw attention and it's just a hypnotizing cover. And it amuses me that you criticize this yet I'm sure I'll see numerous praises for the blue eye photoshoot or any of the God awful ones from the Invincible era.

I love the artwork on this...perhaps by MBW? I think the 'art' covers seem much more dynamic and give a feeling of complexity and movement, whereas in the 'Xscape' image Michael could almost be carved out of a block of ice, the image is so static. (just my opinion, which I know that many do not share.)
I just like to see a more' multi faceted' Michael..and he was after all one of the greatest dancers of our time.


Later edit: Oh dear, I will have to stop looking at the XCP cover. I've just mentally filled in the gaps between his shoulders and the ring with more of the starry veil...so now he looks like a big butterfly caught in a net..I want to draw huge butterfly wings on him so he can fly away. :unsure: :shutup:

(Am looking forward to hearing the music...haven't heard much of it yet!)

I follow Onir's example & put together my favorites list (with regard to the versions we know right now):

1. Xscape
2. Blue Gangster
3. Do You Know Where Your Children Are
4. Slave To The Rhythm
5. A Place With No Name
6. Love Never Felt So Good

1 to 5 are very close together, with a little gap to the 6th spot. The first three are almost even in my liking...

I saw that on This Morning. It's a weekly item where they pit UK entertainment gossip vesus USA entertainment gossip. The presenters choose between which two they find the most exciting/interesting and the viewers vote overall as well. The UK gossip was that two people off the Big Reunion show were having a baby and the USA gossip was that Michael had a new album coming out. They showed some archive clips while talking about him and made a particular effort to point out that 20% would go directly to charity as per his will. The presenters then said something along the lines of 'well that's the equivalent to the Harry Potter story* so thats a no brainer for me' and voted for Michael and the other presenter said 'yeah it's got to be Michael'.

*in the previous vote they had a story about JK Rowling writing a screenplay based on a Hogwarts book she has out.

Gotta admit i'm a little sad... ;-(

I#m still not completely sold! Why?
How can two different people, Richard Lecocq & Kevin Hughes, in 2 different places, at two different listening sessions, both hearing 8 tracks & identifying 2 of those tracks as the different songs SWLM & Chicago?

Basically they go through different weekly news stories and say wether they rate them or not and they voted that they rate the new release :)
and one of the presenters of the program said something like 'yeah Michael, all the way'

It's now close to being confirmed that they are different tracks, Joe sometimes get's information correct (just check out his book) that it may be the case this time around also. We can only truly know when the full tracklisting is revealed, including the bonus tracks on the deluxe edition.

Those who were present at the listening session were not told the titles of the songs. A number of people said they figured it was Chicago because Timbaland spoke of a song with that title before. But they also confirmed that the word "Chicago" was not sung anywhere in the mysterious eighth song. Richard LeCocq, as informative as he is, probably did the same. We can't blame him, seeing as how retitling She Was Loving Me as Chicago makes no sense.

Yeah, it's not that I hate it and I know lots of fans love it, but I personally never really warmed to it. Maybe now.

But I actually like all of these songs and I think a few of them have hit potential, so I'm quiet pleased with the song selection - incl. Xscape.
