Xscape chart positions. (incl. singles)

If you add all weeks according to the Chart Archive of UWC,the total sales of Xscape is higher, they are counting 31k less.
The error is on the week 14 which in the UWC is the week 35 of sales, for some reason they forgot to count that week in the totals

I already tried to warn the Chart News but they didn't answered, if you try to warn them or the UWC team would be very helpful
I'm not crazy because I check week by week on the Chart Archive and they are counting 31k less, if you wanna check feel free

I think you miscalculated. I counted all of the numbers you wrote and it is 1,437,000.
 
The magic of airplay can do wonders for Xscape. It is a high quality album and if the general public is exposed to it, the sales will go up.
 
See how important is airplay. Without it even promotion can't do much ( long term anyway).

Part of promotion these days is to make sure you get enough airplays. Record companies "bribe" radio stations to play their songs.

Yes, they can get a radio deal for a day which can guarantee a week of stable airplay, but not for long term airplay unfortunately. Older artists are simply discriminated on radio.
 
They could at least give it that one week. I'm pretty sure it would have charted better.

Xscape jumped from 134 to number 70 in the UK charts...nice work #mjfam in the UK :)
 
One thing people so need to consider is that radio stations decide what they play... If a record label can't entice them enough than it's te stations issue... We are the only ones that can really change stations minds by showing them there is a demand... That's when they will pay to play the music... Remember that!!

Record company any calls stations basically saying "hey buy the rights to play the song an play it a lot" than the station decides if they believe the audience wants to hear it enough for them to pay for it.. Out voice speaks a lot louder than a record company when it comes to what the audience wants.. Why? Because we are the audience!! So I suffer request the crap out of it.

To each their own. I think he is an incredibly talented artist, as well as an amazing live performer.

Indeed Prince is as is Michael. Because they are both U.S. African Americans, the media sought to make them rivals. There can only be one. It was the main reason there were ridiculous rumors Michael and Janet were the same person.

Sales do not always mirror the quality of art. If it would be so then PSY would be the greatest artist and Gangnam Style would be the greatest song ever written. I haven't heard the new Prince material so I cannot judge that, but he is surely a great and extremely talented artists regardless of the sales of his current album.

Sales these days are not great for any artist but if you are over the age of 40 it's even more difficult to sell your music. That does not necessarily tell anything about the quality of it. I'm personally interested in how artists of MJ's generation are doing (and I guess that's why Annita posted it too) because that gives us an idea about how great Xscape is doing actually, despite of some fans being disappointed in sales. Well, it outsold Bruce Springsteen's, Mariah Carey's and Prince's new album, despite of MJ not being here to promote it. So that's pretty great.

I never said he is not talented. There are a lot of talented musicians and artists from the '80. And that is exactly what Prince is. Michael is on whole another level. MJ is not some artist that had few hits in the '80, he is megastar from the '70, '80 and '90. He even had hits in '00. The point is that the media constructed that false rivalry between the 2 of them but Prince don't deserve that. Michael is 1000 times more talented than him and million times better performer, singer, songwriter...
