Xscape chart positions. (incl. singles)

You did the album sales many times call a disaster, even before you had the end-results and in even weeks in landed in Top Ten. It`s well archived in this thread.

Maybe Roger Friedmann took his ideas for his articles from you? (just fun).

I called album sales a disaster twice (this week and last week).

Billboard Adult R&B Songs: #1 (5 weeks) Love Never Felt So Good, @michaeljackson & @jtimberlake | #2 Good Kisser, @Usher (Greatest Gainer).

It really puzzles me how the Frozen OST can still sell that much if it came out last year.

Yeah same here. It's not even THAT good... I seriously mean it when I say people in the States have a weird taste for music... They really don't know how to appreciate good music. They rather listen to 3rd class music than 1st class music that Michael (and other artists) make.

Can we quit the overdramatic "disaster" talk? There is nothing disastrous about Xscape's sales considering it's the 8th best selling album of the year so far.

He is not talking about the overall sales. He's talking about the chart position this week. Jeeeeeeezzz...

While it came out last year most of it sales come from this year. Until the end of 2013 it sold 338,000 copies in the US, now it's certified 3 million, so about 2.7 million of its sales come from 2014. I guess as the movie picked up and became more and more hyped that increased the album sales as well.

But a huge drop is pretty disaster. I'm not calling XSCAPE a fail. It's a great album. I love it. But a huge drop is pretty ****ed up.

Weekly sales in US. Not worldwide sales and not total sale number. Weekly sales in US is a disaster (for this week and last week). Only 2,939 copies with 50%.

No you are calling it in regulary panic-attacks a disaster. For example her and that was for more then 6 weeks:

OK 3 times, but even then it could have been seen that the album is slipping on the charts and that more promotion was needed. LNFSG can not hold the album on the charts alone. That week album ended in Top 20 and that was ok (still not great). But this week it will be out of Top 40 and the main reason is lack of promotion. I said then that 11.8. is too late for 2nd single. Maybe single will be successful but it will be too late for the album to bring it back to Top 10 or even Top 20.

Are some people expecting some Thriller style success? Considering the man is dead and there has been absolutely NOTHING in word of promotion for near 2 months now, I think this album is still doing very, very well. 8th best selling album of the year is an incredible feat in my eyes given my expectations - #1 in the UK!? Incredible!

Yeah, but it is #66 this week in UK! It could have been better with more organized promotion.

It was a good movie (not the best Pixar one) but the songs are a pain in the butt, tbh. I guess 'Let It Go' winning an Oscar for best song and the movie Itself helped to increase the sales. I just don't understand how people keep on buying it.

There are worse albums than Frozen that people keep buying for some reason, like Katy Perry's last album.

I don't understand it either. And it's not just the US. The album is doing well in several other countries based on the cumaltive weekly sales on the worldwide chart. For Bodyguard, it was possible to understand the worldwide success thanks to the smash single I Will Always Love You.

You keep freaking out without waiting for the final numbers. Yes, it's dropping now, but its sales are far from being a disaster. This is just over dramatic IMO. There are some real sales disasters this year, but Xscape is not one of them.

You speak like you're an oracle. If you're that good, why don't you apply for a job at the Estate's promotional department. I'm sure you can straighten those slackers up. ;)

Last 2 week sales. Not overall total sales or worldwide sales. I'm talking about last 2 weeks in US. 7,943 is very low in my opinion and can be called a disaster.

Of course, but we're talking 3 months on from its release..the UK never had any promotion from day #1 really so it's a surprise its done that well for me.

That's basically what I'm saying. I'm not blaming or critiquing the album, but Epic's promotion tactics and strategy.

It's doing pretty well. I'm surprised it's still in top 40, considering there has been NO PROMOTION for like forever.

That's over dramatic. Not every week will be strong, it's like that with all albums. Sometimes they drop then go up again. How many albums sell the same numbers for months on end?

There are 2 weeks until the new single and it seems they won't do anything before that, so let's be patient a little more. We don't know what strategy they have, it's possible they've planned lots of promo for next month.
