So we can just lay back, drink some lemonade (or wine) and just chill,waiting for some new mountains to conquer :)

Agreed. Kid Rock actually does have talent, too bad for those who can't look past his image or whatever, but his album is good and he deserved to win.

personally I'd love to have seen Michael win however if he did many would have said it was a rip off, lets face it, it was a reissue of an album that has won every award known, and he was nominated based on that?

Many of the singles didnt chart the top 10 around the world, why should he win Best Male Pop Act of 2008 then? to me it sound silly personally, nothing against Michael but I dont think Thriller 25 earns him that award in any way

oh my Gosh I saw Kid rock performance 2 nights ago on ZDF "Wetten Dass.." and it was so boring!!!!! how could he get this award!?!! soooooooooooo unbelievable!!!!!!
 
Weel, I don't think it is important who won that, is just good enough to have an offical confirm that t25 is a top selling album of 2008.

So many years ago the "world music awards" were the best thing of the year!
So much glamour, so many important people attending and presenting it. So many great artists and what perfomances! Prince, Steve Wonder, Michael, Elton John, etc... since 1999 they have been just a joke, but not only them, from the Grammies to the Mtv video award, European music awards, and so on... they all are so incredibly stupid and useless, you can't find any good perfomance on those shows, not even the artist are OK... who timberlake? rhianna? tokyo hotel? but What the h*ll...! ?
At least the WMA are sincere and based on objectiv sales, but now to have some good old singer thay have to give some Diamond Awards or a Special Career Achivement award and so on.

I'm very nostalgic of the good all days when families used to watch those shows when they had such glamour around them and the were an unique chance to see your idols doing special perfomances.
Time goes on, and this is not the era for Music awards shows anymore. Sad to say that, but it is.

I was talking with a friend of mine recently about this and our comments were the same as yours!
Back then those shows had some really special atmosphere, they used to be big, special events... it's something totally different now, I rarely even watch... Sad, but true...

why dont ppl get that the awards are based on the sales of said album from the last year. if u have the biggest selling album of the year then you deserve the award as that is what the award is based around.

that isnt the award. the award is the Biggest selling male.so if u are the biggest selling male of that year you win the award.

you would think so but kid rock turned up and performed so..... i have no idea who sold more and in the scheme of things who really cares as no one even knew the show was happening till about 3 hours before it started lol
 
LMAO, that's what I'm saying. That said I don't even wanna watch it. I didn't even dare watch the WMA '06 one for some reason. Something about that appearance made me cringe and no it wasn't Michael but it just... it was something dark about that time. :unsure:

the WMA's are kinda strange i guess cause they are a new show compaired to all the others and it being set up in monaco by the royals. its totally different but they have always got the big names to attend.
 
not really . it wasnt really booing her its because she came on after MJ and everyone wanted mj back so it was kinda like we want mj back.it wasnt actually booing at her personally.and then the media twisted it and sad mj got booed which is the biggest peice of B.S ever

It certainly isnt ...so by elimination I would say the others in the category didnt sell as many as Kid Rock has then, which is why Michael never won the award.
 
Well, you know, Michael has received ALL the important awards! He has achieved everything in his entire career. It´s not always about awards, Michael is a legend and a legend never fails and Michael Jackson is the best no matter what, he will always be successful.

For those wondering about sales...

I would like to emphasize the fact that the estimated 2008 worldwide sales of Kid Rock vs MJ (Rock 'n Roll Jesus vs Thriller 25) were very close, no matter how you cut it. And, worldwide sales are virtually always just estimates, with each source having different ways of calculating them; many estimates exclude certain countries where sale information is more hard to gather, while others estimate the sales based on chart position etc... The WMAs use IFPI data to determine winners, which is undoubtedly the most accurate means of gathering official worldwide sales figures and the data spans 44 countries of sales--but getting these exact figures straight from IFPI isn't such an easy task unless you're one of their partners. It is entirely plausible that Kid Rock's sales, according to IFPI, exceed Michael's sales by a thin margin, since the margin of error in the estimated figures is easily +/- what the difference was in the estimated sales posted.
