Michael Jackson's white crystal glove and Moonwalker belt are displayed at the Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday in New York's Times Square.
NEW YORK -- One of Michael Jackson's crystal-encrusted gloves will be on display in Times Square this week in a preview of a planned auction of the pop legend's possessions.
Some 2,000 items taken from Jackson's Neverland Ranch are scheduled to be sold during a televised auction in April.
It is still unclear whether the auction will take place. Jackson sued to stop the sale earlier this month.
The auction house, Julien's Auctions, says Jackson's managers authorized the sale.
A small sampling of items will be on display at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Jackson plans Potter passes:
London - Michael Jackson has invited stars of the Harry Potter movies to the opening night of his This Is It shows.
The three main stars from the wizard franchise - Daniel Radcliffe, 19, Emma Watson, 18, and Rupert Grint, 20 - have reportedly been offered access all areas passes for the start of Michael's farewell residency at London's O2 arena on July 8.
"Michael is a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and films," a source told Britain's The Sun newspaper.
"He was utterly enchanted by the magic of JK Rowling's novels and owns all the movies and he has bought memorabilia for his collection."
Michael is said to be such a big Harry Potter fan he owns a first edition copy of JK Rowling's debut novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which is worth around £10,000 ($14,484).
Turning up by boat
Meanwhile, it has been revealed Michael will travel to each show on a boat, because he is afraid of helicopters and doesn't like to publicly ride in cars. "He loves the idea of turning up by boat - he thinks it's much more glamorous and very James Bond," a source said.
Around 750 000 tickets for Michael's record-breaking 50 shows at the O2 arena sold out in a single morning earlier this month. Tickets are so sought after, superstar soccer player David Beckham has reportedly even resorted to phoning up and using his status to ask for passes.

During a stopover in Paris on a recent flight back to the U.S. after performing in Malaysia with his band N.E.R.D., Pharrell channeled his inner Michael Jackson and Bob Fosse while singing and dancing in an effort to persuade the cashiers at McDonald's to open up early and serve him. Unfortunately for Skateboard P, his goofy antics did not seem to impress the ladies, as it appears that he left empty-handed, but not before the entire bizarre episode was caught on camera for your viewing pleasure.

Nokia recently asked for Bluetooth headset designs inspired by a certain song, this is what G. Smith presented after listening to Robot Rock a few dozen times. R. Kelly and Michael Jackson are also well-represented.
I was really torn between which of these three are my favourite, because this one inspired by R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" is very special:
As is this Orca-coloured pair for Will You Be There, aka the Free Willy theme:
The contest received over 8,000 proposed song-inspired designs, and these were among the handful of winners that were actually made into working headsets, which are on display in Nokia's flagship store in London.
