Michael Jackson's white crystal glove and Moonwalker belt are displayed at the Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday in New York's Times Square.

NEW YORK -- One of Michael Jackson's crystal-encrusted gloves will be on display in Times Square this week in a preview of a planned auction of the pop legend's possessions.

Some 2,000 items taken from Jackson's Neverland Ranch are scheduled to be sold during a televised auction in April.

It is still unclear whether the auction will take place. Jackson sued to stop the sale earlier this month.

The auction house, Julien's Auctions, says Jackson's managers authorized the sale.

A small sampling of items will be on display at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Jackson plans Potter passes:

London - Michael Jackson has invited stars of the Harry Potter movies to the opening night of his This Is It shows.

The three main stars from the wizard franchise - Daniel Radcliffe, 19, Emma Watson, 18, and Rupert Grint, 20 - have reportedly been offered access all areas passes for the start of Michael's farewell residency at London's O2 arena on July 8.

"Michael is a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and films," a source told Britain's The Sun newspaper.

"He was utterly enchanted by the magic of JK Rowling's novels and owns all the movies and he has bought memorabilia for his collection."
Michael is said to be such a big Harry Potter fan he owns a first edition copy of JK Rowling's debut novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which is worth around £10,000 ($14,484).

Turning up by boat
Meanwhile, it has been revealed Michael will travel to each show on a boat, because he is afraid of helicopters and doesn't like to publicly ride in cars. "He loves the idea of turning up by boat - he thinks it's much more glamorous and very James Bond," a source said.

Around 750 000 tickets for Michael's record-breaking 50 shows at the O2 arena sold out in a single morning earlier this month. Tickets are so sought after, superstar soccer player David Beckham has reportedly even resorted to phoning up and using his status to ask for passes.

During a stopover in Paris on a recent flight back to the U.S. after performing in Malaysia with his band N.E.R.D., Pharrell channeled his inner Michael Jackson and Bob Fosse while singing and dancing in an effort to persuade the cashiers at McDonald's to open up early and serve him. Unfortunately for Skateboard P, his goofy antics did not seem to impress the ladies, as it appears that he left empty-handed, but not before the entire bizarre episode was caught on camera for your viewing pleasure.

Nokia recently asked for Bluetooth headset designs inspired by a certain song, this is what G. Smith presented after listening to Robot Rock a few dozen times. R. Kelly and Michael Jackson are also well-represented.

I was really torn between which of these three are my favourite, because this one inspired by R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" is very special:

As is this Orca-coloured pair for Will You Be There, aka the Free Willy theme:

The contest received over 8,000 proposed song-inspired designs, and these were among the handful of winners that were actually made into working headsets, which are on display in Nokia's flagship store in London.

Today in
Michael Jackson History
1983 - Michael Jackson performed the moonwalk for a live audience for the first time during a performance of "Billie Jean." "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever" was a television special that aired on May 16, 1983. During the show Jackson performed as a solo artist and with his brothers.

1991 - Michael Jackson escorted Madonna to the Oscars.

2004 - In Santa Barbara, CA, selection began for grand jurors in the child molestation case against Michael Jackson.

I remember staying up and watching this when it aired on tv, I believe it was CBS.. Well anyway, I don't know whose mouth hit the floor first mine or my mother's when MJ did the moonwalk..
Do yo see the lean muscles poking thru MJ's shirt?? 2 sexy..his waist must be a 28 or something?? I luv it..

Thanks for the news and mentionings.

sometimes you can remember exactly where you were when you see something - I know exactly where I was, my 'old' bedroom - watching the Motown special and amazed / speechless when Michael began to perform solo.... good memories!

^Amen.. I was on the floor in the den and my mom was on the couch running her mouth to her friends.. I remember telling her to be quiet and she gave me that look as if I told her to go eat poo..lol.. But thanks to MJ and family for saving me because she started watching them and forgot about what I said to her... Then when Billie Jean came on, OMG Ms.Snoop I basically froze in time.. I don't remember what happened after I saw him do the moonwalk..

Lol@ Pharrell! I love his music, too.

It's amazing. Twenty six years since "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever"

Thank you for the news n stuff. :)

Has anyone noticed the strange little tabloids stories day by day since Michael sold out his 02 concerts. Another one today is that Michael wants to ride a big live elephant during the concert with birds flying around his head etc during a jungle scene section of the concert. ROTFL! Yeah right!

Yep, I noticed that also. LOL!

Those fools need to pace themselves. I mean, there has been a new rumor "almost" everyday and if they plan on doing this until July, they are gonna need to come up with some better rumors. Because so far they have been very lame, i.e. taking a BOAT to the O2 and this elephant story amongst many others.

yeah..i know that fox news article reporter was taking a slam at Michael.

it's interesting.. that pic of MJ in the blue shirt...he said, that back then, people said he was ugly. it kinda brings something to the surface, now that people think that's a great pic.

do some people see things as looking better, simply because those things are in the past?

it seems like there will always be those who love how he looks in the present, and those who say they don't, or those who wish that he would have the curls from the bad era, but, then again, there are plenty who think he's fine the way he is today. the bottom line is...as is with everybody...the eye of the beholder is more subjective than i ever imagined. it's so easy to think that if you see something you are seeing the truth..when in reality, you are seeing your truth..your view, because the person right next to you can see something entirely different.

well..lol...at least everybody has the same view of what the wind looks llke..cus although they can feel it, they can't see it. lol...

yeah...seems random....but..so what. lol. i think there's some truth in it.:D

*SIGH* I wish I was around then........

I can only imagine how it was!!!!!

The SUN is a tabloid. The HP article is complete BULLISH and doesn't belong in the news thread. So is the elephant article (which is just another variation on the "boat" article).

It's all meant to smear Michael and make him seem "crazy". Although I personally love the boat idea (or elephant idea for that matter).

Seriously, read the Sun article carefully and you will see it has the earmarks of someone either (a) wanting to ride Mike's coat tails or (b) smear Michael and bring to mind his love for children and simply reinject the same crap we've heard for years now in typical tabloid fashion.

If you're going to post the HP bullish, you might as well post the RF article, too.

Not sure what you mean about an elephant article. Harry Potter sounded plausible, so I am sorry if it offended you.

fyi - I do read each and every article, mentioning to make sure that they don't have any negative, degrading or ***** wording...I think there was a **** HP article, but I searched until I found a nice clean positive article on the same topic.

Just proves the media can say the same thing without negative nicknames "*****".

found the elephant article online - ah no - that one is pure trash!....

No, I think I'm being misunderstood.

I don't care for HP, but that's besides the point.

That article is FALSE because
(1) it comes from a tabloid
(2) it doesn't do anything other than degrade Michael and insinuate innuendo (Michael and kids, kids and Michael, blah, blah, blah).
(3) It has hopped and jumped from one tabloid to another
(4) It appears someone -- maybe even the folks associated with HP-- have put these two together to ride Michael's coat tails. Why give HP any "free PR" or "promotion" if this was their intention?
(5) Recently the Russian businessman (sorry, forgot his name) put out a statement that those rumors in the press about MJ performing for him were false -- that story, too, was planted to smear MJ. Like this one.
(6) There are a rash of stories on the wire that are NOTHING about MJ the showman, humanitarian or the person. They are stirring up things like the new RF article which is naming an "unnamed" MJ rep who allegedly delivered a "threat" from MJ to Julien's auctions. This is SERIOUS because if anything prevents MJ from taking the stage -- it would be a lawsuit
(7) If you're gonna post HP (I'm pretty sure I saw the elephant and/or boat article here too somewhere), then why not post RF, too?

This harkens back to the day when I recall having the same debate(s) with fans who were all saying that MJ would NOT be offended by the Eminem video/song which he recorded about MJ. After being told by fans that we should lighten up and that MJ was a "big" fan of eminem, we later learned that Mike was very offended and asked Bob Johnson to pull the video. While the two are very different (HP article and the Eminem video), it should be noted that this would be offensive to MJ cause while it has been "sanitized" by MJJC, it still comes from a TERRIBLE source.

If Mike wants us to know that he gave someone tix/backstage passes, we'll know it cause it will come from a better source than the SUN.

Same with the "elephant" and "boat" stories. Those are a load of ISH. Can't you tell?

Well, this is HP article is pure trash too cause it's all tabloid. Just cause the HP article is sanitized it doesn't make it any more credible than the elephant story. If we get a valid source (someone that can be trusted), then this entire controversy goes away and I shut up.

These stories are being leaked in a series to hurt Michael.

Can't you see?

PS - the RF article has really got me worried. I pray that no one starts anything that will postpone or cancel the shows. I really do.

Vstreet..don't even succeed in getting you to think that way...

its is a trick to discredit and hurt him... they hate that Michael made this O2 deal and broke this selling record and they didn't see what was coming so now they are playing catch up...

you falling for this hurts Michael.. stop... don't let them WIN...

Agree 100%

I wish Someone would run a special entitled "MJ - The Incredible Comeback". Why can't someone highlight the incredible achievement of a man at 50 selling out 50 dates at O2?

Why are we reading stories about MJ acting like Ace Ventura???? (cause they are trying to make him appear comical)

You know what’s so stupid about this threat crap? This person is trying to say the threat happened in February, right? We are now in March. If he was so afraid for his life, then why is he still doing everything in his power to auction off everything anyway? Does that make sense?

It’s like saying, “Oh my! Michael is a terrible man! I am truly afraid for my life and that’s why I can’t wait to have this auction!! People are really gonna want to buy these items from me because he’s terrible! Counting down to April!”

Doesn’t that sound stupid? Yes, it does. Yet, that is how their trying to say this Julien guy is carrying on.

Julien wasn’t threatened. It's just that rehashed foolishness that Backerman and them tried to use. Farrakahn didn’t threaten to do anything to Julien. Why would he put his freedom on the line for an auction? It sounds just a silly as Julien putting his life on the line for an auction.

Julien isn’t afraid for his life at all. As a matter of fact, he feels at total ease. He could care less if it hurts MJ to part with things that he’s worked extremely hard for and can’t go back in time to get again.

Since when did tabloids get allowed to be posted in this forum and in the O2 sub-forum? So just because some article appears nice and clean and doesn't call MJ any names, it should be allowed here, no matter how inaccurate it might be????

How stupid. :rolleyes2:

BINGO!!
It's a retelling of the OLD NOI stories from yesteryear and it's also pieced together (probably by a former employee) to bring back those stories that kept circulating in the press circa 2004 - 2005.

But this time, it's in a SWORN Court statement!! Which makes it worse.

This has got me worried cause of the timing. I never trusted Tohme or the auction. Something doesn't smell right.

I'm saying the article on HP didn't appear to be tabloidish - from the source I brought in.

And why couldn't it be believable? Is it because HP is geared towards kids so it has to be 'dirty'?? I must be naive in that case, because that's not what I read into it at all....I thought that it could be true because the HP cast is British, lives in London and MJ likes Magic and I'd bet his kids do too.

All the Hollywood & London celebrities are probably trying to get comps - why can't MJ offer comps to British celebrities?

and now for a little time out....

and you're right...he isn't old...I just feel older then he is - sometimes....
