Oh no, I didn't even realize it would be so difficult to buy TII until reading this thread  Nothing special seems to be offered in my country, so I'm considering this -->

Since I don't have a Blue-Ray player though (and I'm not gonna do Sony a favour and buy it...or maybe I'll buy some other manufacturer's player :cheeky:) I'll have to buy some other version as well. Black is my favourite colour so this caught my attention -->

What's this "limited black edition"? I couldn't get it in English so it's in Swedish here:
http://cdon.se/film/this_is_it_-_limited_black_edition_(2_disc)-7792988

Is it just.. the same.. ??

It just really seems to be the same as the "non-black" 2-disc edition? Is just a different colour on the cover of the box supposed to be worth a couple more euros, and of course the words "limited edition"?? How foolish do they think we are?

I don't like this. And I don't like the fact that it's going to be six more weeks until we get anything. :timer:
That "Unfinished Rehearsals" footage had better be good :she_devil:

But you can't seem to get the Memorial Box anywhere..... every stockist seems to have sold out! Anyone know where to get it?
Thanks:)

So the part where MJ is laughing around a table and dancing in the mirror is only for European fans and not Aussies or US fans? How friken unfair is that!!! :(

Grrr!!! Ahhh!!! Why does US get next to nothing?! :( Not fair. Is there any way around this? If I order some other country's discs is there any way at all to view it? :( So friggin' bummed.

It won't be compatible with your player.

For people in the US that don't have a Blu-Ray player, Walmart.com now has the 2-Disc edition for pre-order. It says it's a Walmart.com exclusive, so I don't know if it wll be offered in other stores (it probably will). It won't have as much as the Blu-Ray of course, but more than the 1-disc.

I'm SO confused??? Can someone PLEASE tell me which is the BEST version to buy which includes EVERYTHING including the Unfinished rehearsals? I don't care how much it is!! PLEASE!

The Memorial DVD from Japan looks insane! It doesn't have the unfinished rehersals though?

U.S. fan here...I'm planning on purchasing a copy of the European Blu-Ray with the additional extras. I was thinking maybe the German copy would be best, since it can be ordered easily through Amazon.

But what we need to find out is which copy (if any) of the European Blu-Ray will be released WITHOUT region coding, or else it cannot be played on most players in the U.S. (with the exception of the few people who have region free Blu-Ray players).

Sony Pictures is known to release many of its Blu-Ray discs region free. According to the website below, about 80% of the tested titles from Sony have been region free (217 out of the 272 titles tested were not region coded).

Hopefully, "This Is It" will be one of them!

What about deals in America? Doesn anyone know?

Best buy is selling the blu ray and each one comes with a different unseen footage

Does anyone know the best you can get in sweden? the one with most footage? thanks :)

My Best Buy ad says the blu-ray will come with a bonus disc and a backstage pass replica during this week's sale. I don't know what the bonus disc is..but I'm skeptical, it's probably nothing we haven't seen before..but who knows. All I know is that I'm getting my DVD and anything not on there will be obtained via downloading or youtube thanks to sony's stupidity.

For the people in the USA:

Target will have an exclusive Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for $24.99.
Target will be selling the DVD version for $15.99.
Best Buy will have a 2-disc Blu-ray version.

There are so many choices I don't know what to get!

I can totally relate with you! This is frustrating and confusing and I hate SONY for this. I hope they can have at least a concrete definition of each on their websites. What's more frustrating is they don't have a CONTACT US tab for inquiries. Urgh!

I discovered that these are the several versions of the 2 Disc DVD they are releasing worldwide.

LIMITED EDITION package

LENTICULAR EDITION package (to be released in the Philippines not sure if its going to be available worldwide too)

SPECIAL EDITION package

DELUXE COLLECTOR'S EDITION package (BLACK box)

COLLECTOR'S EDITION (white box)

and now this...MEMORIAL EDITION BOX!

For those in the USA, I am watching MJ day on VH1 Classic and there was a Walmart commercial for This Is It. Walmart will have the 2-disc DVD version. Even though Walmart is a little far from me, looks like that is the version I will get.

Whats in the target pack?

Seriously not even a poster? We get zip, zero, nada!

Like I said before Michael is an American artist and we dont get anything?

The combo pack at Target is just the Blu-ray and DVD together. I don't think there is anything special about it other than having both formats.

Oh man, all these different combos and packages are giving me a headache! and I'm so mad... I don't have a blu-ray player only dvd... ugghhhhhh!!!!

does anyone know if Canada has any special editions? I'm going to order the "Best Buy" edition but...

if you do know PLEASE PM me!

also, we definitely need to make sure we get together ALL the bonus features and post them somewhere (obviously not here at MJJC since we dont want to get them in trouble) so that those of us who cant get certain special features can see 'em (ie Anyone in North America wanting the Unfinished Rehearsals)

I'll put 'em on my blog if people want to help me organize everything... again, pm.

I saw the commercial, and they advertised that "The Unfinished Rehearsals" was part of this 2-disc DVD that Walmart is going to be selling. I thought this extra was only going to be on the European 2-Disc DVD?

For US Fans :

Walmart (DVD People, I recommend gong here): Walmart USA has an exclusive limited edition 2-disc DVD available now for pre-order costing $24.96. It includes all the content from the single-disc edition plus an extra 60 minutes of never-before-seen exclusive features.

Best Buy (Blu-Ray People I would recommend going here) : Best Buy USA is accepting pre-orders as well in-store and online. If you pre-order between now and January 25, 2010 (with a $5 deposit), you will receive a collectible DVD-size SteelBook metal case (DVD, Blu-ray) immediately that you can display alongside your other Michael Jackson memorabilia. Inside, the case has room to hold the discs for the film. There will also be three different Best Buy exclusives for the Blu-ray version of the film. Each will include an exclusive bonus Blu-ray disc with extra content and a 3D backstage pass replica showcasing different artwork. Version #1 is This Is It - Pointing, Version #2 is This Is It - Smooth Criminal and Version #3 is This Is It - Blue Shirt Dancing. If you pre-order in-store, you will not be able to select which Best Buy exclusive version for the Blu-ray release and you will still have to arrive at the store early on release day to guarantee you get your first choice. However, if you pre-order online, you can select which Best Buy exclusive version for the Blu-ray release you would like immediately and they will ship it to you. At this time, on BestBuy.com, the images seem to be incorrect representations of Version #1 and #2 of the Blu-ray exclusives so please confirm with customer service when ordering to ensure you get the version you want.

Target (If you're still deciding to whether to get a Bluray Player) : Target USA is the only retailer to release a Blu-ray & DVD combo pack.It will consist of both the DVD and Blu-ray versions of This Is It. It is a great choice if you want to watch it in the car DVD player and also at home on your Blu-ray player. Also, it is good for anyone who currently does not have a Blu-ray player, but plans to in the future. The Blu-ray & DVD combo pack is currently priced at $29.99 and available for pre-order at Target.com.

Thanks for this. This helps so much. I think I will get the combo pack at Target. I hope it has the bonus features Walmart has too.

Why no Blu-Ray Steelbook for the UK? Its annoying as there seems to be one in every country but ours!

Does anyone also know where you can get the Japanese Memorial Box Set from.... it seems to be sold out everywhere?

Anyone know if the booklet and all that stuff exclusively from amazon.de will hvae german language on the booklet etc?

Here in the US,Walmart has a limited edition exclusive 2-disk set. It's normally $24.96, but tomorrow, in stores only it will be between $13.00 - $18.00 depending on your location
