Ok, so the campaign isn't going well so far.
The song has NOT made it to the midweek singles chart so far.

In order to raise the profile of the campaign and the song we need to get the media involved.

We need them to do some advertising for us by mentioning the campaign either on TV, radio, or in the papers.

PLEASE REQUEST FOR RADIO 1 HERE: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/reggieyates/request_mj/

Please support the campaign by sending messages (asking them to support the campaign) to the following places as much as you can in the next few days.

It could be a message as simple as this:

"Please support the campaign to get Michael Jackson's "We've Had Enough" into he UK singles chart this week"

It's up to you really. Please don't all use the same wording!!

If you're emailing then don't forget to include links to the Facebook campaign!

Please feel free to add more to this thread!!!

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

To be honest if it isn't in the mid-weeks it isn't going to change imo. The campaign was a great idea, but it just didn't have the total support of all MJ fans

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

It wasn't in the midweeks because it didn't have the support it needed. I would have prefered a more popular MJ track, but we're stuck with WHE now so I'm throwing my support behind it.

This is a last effort on my part to advertise the campaign to a wider audience - those fans and non-fans who don't read these boards regularly and would be interested.

As always, if nobody takes part then the whole thing falls apart.

It'll take you 5 minutes to send one email and buy one copy of the track. The time cost is minimal, the financial cost is minimal, so why not??

Instead of writing your negative response you could have helped the campaign.

P.S You're wrong. If we get the media to report this campaign prior to Sunday's chart we COULD make a change. The song could get into the chart...

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

There are still 9 days to get it going. U might find media outlets will jump on board closer to June 25 :) Keep persisting.

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

Just think.

there have been 130 views of this thread since I originally posted it. If only 50% of views resulted in one email to each of the names listed then each DJ would have received 65 emails about this campaign in just 2 hours. If this results in them mentioning the campaign on air then the emails would have been worth it.

Please contribute, it doesn't take much effort at all!

ALSO, PLEASE SPREAD THIS INFORMATION TO ALL THE MJ FAN BOARDS YOU KNOW!!

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

I will help with the e-mailing.
What exactly should be said in the e-mails though?

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

You could say anything you like, but you need to emphasise that there is a campaign to get "We've Had Enough" into the UK singles chart and maybe send them a link to the facebook page or campaign video on youtube.

Apparently Reggie Yates will be dedicating his show on Saturday to MJ, so please all contact Reggie Yates during his show (4pm - 8pm BST).

His Radio1 page says:

Let us know your favourite Michael Jackson track and you could be hearing yourself and your chosen MJ song on the show!

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

The reason why this campaign hasn't worked is because you'll have a few hundred sales counting towards the UK chart, a few hundred in the US, a few hundred in random European countries etc.

The Rage Against The Machine campaign worked because it was a mass download focused only on the British charts.

This was far too wide-spread to ever work.

Ok then lets stop complaining and switch it up all download from the uk???

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

I'll definitely help to spread it and have downloaded it a couple times but the best that can be hoped for is top 40. The Rage campaign worked as it spread amongst everyone and was concentrated on one country. But download download download!!!!!

Your deffo right :)

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

SO how do we contribute to only the uk downloads? Is there an Itunes UK?

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

you have to give something like this some time. i know the media convinces us that less is more, these days, because a number 1 seems to require less downloads, and the quality of music has gone down these days. but, not too long ago, a grass roots campaign consisted of time and effort. this is a high quality song, and you need to dedicate, and keep at it for weeks to come. that's how it really works. keep at it, so more people will see it.

Re: The shameless WHE promotion thread

Another example of "MJ fan community" failure.
Typical, and real.

I have never heard of any fan project that succeeded .
The song WHE is absolutely (Id say, at least) weak and (I am sure) its not a good song for any public/media promotion.

Radio 1 request show dedicated to mj this weekend! Request we've had enough!

Speak for yourself.

I consider it to be the best song he's done in the last 15 years.

Ditto

And as the creator of this campaign, can I simply say Im a little dissapointed at the title of this thread

I have personally devoted every spare second I have had as well as hundreds of pounds of my own money to this cause, for the last six months, as have my colleagues/friends...

Having it referred to as a 'Shameless' is, tbh, a little rude :( and upsetting. :(

Please tell me what YOU have done and succeded, or more have you try to do something ? Is it a pleasure for you to take down everything we try to do ? You always criticize each time, do you have something to propose ?according to me your posts are just pointless. End.

Re: Radio 1 request show dedicated to mj this weekend! Request we've had enough!

This is a great opportunity to get the word around :) Keep it up you guys! :)

I think you've misunderstood the original poster. I think bobmoo7 used the word "shameless" to plug the cause...

Okay

Trouble is, with the word shameless in there, it seems to have given people the opportunity to bash this campaign

And MJJC is the one place that has fully supported this from day one

Be a shame if that changed at the last knockings

NOW is when we need you all :)

I think Louf is not the only one to have misunderstood, seeing this poster criticize (again) what we try to do - Maybe could the title be changed ? :mello:

I'll change the thread title, what would you like it changed to? :)
