That`s great. On the other hand I find it disappointing that Thriller 40 did only chart in the UK in Top 20 and dropped out of the charts in the second week. Another country even more disappointing is France where Thriller 40 never charted and I think France loves Michael. That`s a curious thing while Thriller 40 starts in most other European countries in the Top Ten and is still doing well.

Thriller 40 did ok nothing more nothing less. It's not a grand success by all means. A big promotional push wouldn't have made a big difference I think. It's not doing better or worse than other artists' anniversary projects.

Comparing with Queens anniversary project Miracle on the same release-day it did much better (except UK) so far, even their project was accompied by the single-release from Face it alone, which gets a lot of attention and living band-members promoting the album.

Another anniversary-album which was released short for Thriller was the Revolver-anniversary from The Beatles. It did chart better in the first week but I think dropped more in the follow weeks. I am not sure about the absolut numbers comparing some weeks. So Revolver was also promoted bei MacCArtney and had Box-Sets, which I think also counting for the album-sales.

All in all Thriller 40 is doing well, and of course would have been done better with a good promotion-shoot. Hopefully the documentary comes soon and gets good distribution-places.

It's all so confusing, isn't it? - the different versions and whether or not the sales figures are being combined. It's just making me laugh so much.

Great news about Thriller at #25, moving up from #36 on the Danish charts. It's moving in the right direction! Gotta be happy about that.

Ugh please remove "don't matter to me" he has like 1 or 2 lines in the song, same with "somebody's watching me" I would never claim this as MJ songs.

It is for me so weird to see thriller having only half a billion streams. It is perhaps MJ's most recognizable song. I wish they would add the tallies for the song.

It`s the combinend number for the Thriller versions. When you go to the currently most streamed songs from Michael Thriller is on 10th most played song with about 450,000 streams. MJ Charta did allready count the nearly 100000 streams from the Thriller 2003 edit on top and sums it up to the number 550,903. So the 2003Thriller -edit is the only Thriller-version Spotify does count seperat, and I agree it should be.

But Billie Jean on number 1 is I think is what people think is Michaels signatur-song and it is allways his number one most current streamed song, I think even on Halloween. The youtoube-numbers shows it also.
Michael is one of very few legacy-artist with having allready a song over one billion an Spotify. Queen is a exception with 4.

Elton John is having one with the Colt Heart Dupa-Remix, a new release with a current artist. The Beatles, Springsteen, Madonna, Spears.... they all have not a billion-song on Spotify even with releasing new material in streaming-age. Current streaming-artists like Drake or Bieber have 7 or 8. Adele has 4, Taylor 1.

Edit: And I agree about Don`t matter to me.

Then next up is i want you back though streams for that seem to be slowing down a bit. After that it’s going to a long wait for another one.

In Belgium billie jean and thriller really go head to head on all time lists. They’re both always top 100 in lists. Based on feeling I would put thriller up there with about 800 million streams but it isn’t.
