Don't think so. The aim of the challenge this year was to get Thriller to No.1 on the billboard chart so as to get past Drake. That didn't happen. No.1 on itunes is great but I don't think it counts. I did just post an article somewhere saying Thriller might end up with a better billboard position once the stats are refreshed but I'm still not expecting it to get to No.1. But I would love to be wrong about that! :)

Tyler the Creator literally dropped Monday at 6 am. Music doesn't even drop those days, it waits until Friday.

To still be demolished on the charts by Michael Jackson is insane.

Also, side point, disappointing that Sticky is the song getting the most plays when Darling, I, and Take Your Mask Off, and Like Him are the best songs from the record easy. Instant Classics.

I don't think it would be anywhere near number 1 sadly, but I would love it to be top 10, but even that would be extremely tough. I am expecting a top 20 position.

Agreed. It's probably a stretch too far. Lady Gaga is doing fine bc she's got lots of stuff to support her current batch of songs. The film, the new album, a new video, the Bruno Mars thing. Michael doesn't have any of that.

Iirc, it went to No.19 in 2022 but I can't remember where it got to last year. For this year, I'd expect low Top 20, at best.
