I think Germany and Sweden have many similar bird names. That’s why I was surprised by your name for Parus major. You are also consistent in naming the Paridae, with all the names ending in ‘-meise;’ in Sweden, we have ‘talgoxe’ (Parus major, great tit), titor (‘entita’ [Poecile palustris], ‘talltita’ [Poecile montanus]), and mesar (‘blåmes’ [Cyanistes caeruleus], ‘stjärtmes’ [Aegithalos caudatus] et al.).

Is the consistency there in Britain, too? Are they all different variations of tits?
