I am. I'm singing Adam's 'Lou' in my head. As you do!

...this is another.
Yeah, I remember this one. I didn't see Our Caca Phoney H or Drop Your Pearls and Hog It, Girl on stage - just bits on tv - but I remember all these lovely photos from that time. Awesome!

Ah that yellow costume, That peak we get ...and that's all we get. That's iconic. I'm looking at that long after the stage lights go out.

@zinniabooklover & @wendijane since both of you are into eastern european/russian tale adaptions, have you seen the czech version of Alice in Wonderland?

^
juding by these fragments, it looks creepy and unsettling. I wonder if this movie was really meant for children

Jordan is crushing all before her. As you can imagine she would. Just her vocal roar alone is enough to crush any man within a 50, 000 yard radius.

I love that you have seen Michael's artistry live.
Not as much as I would have liked. Missed all the early stuff, which is probably OK. Saw No Fire Escape In Hell in 86. That was the one where I went along with almost zero expectations. Blew my freakin' mind. I went along towards the end of the second week, the Saturday was going to be the last show but they announced an extra show - one of his friends had died so they did a charity benefit thing. Anyway, I bought 4 tkts, took along 3 peeps with me who had no clue who this guy was. He blew their tiny minds.

In 1988 I saw I Am Curious, Orange 8 times. Yep, 8 times. And I would have gone to more if I could've got more tkts. Fkn awesome. Not much more I can say, really.

In 1989 he did Heterespective at the Anthony D'Offay gallery and I was lucky enough to get a ticket - only one but he only did 10 shows and the tickets were like gold dust. Anyway, it was beautiful. Very intimate. Emotionally wrenching, though.

Now he did 2 big pieces in the early 90's, both of which I missed, reasons, fed-up bc it was here that he used T.Rex and the Pistols. So I missed out there. Then he crashed and burned. Big time. He was, um, absent for several years. His Mum put him back together. He returned, very low-key, in 1998 with current/SEE which was flawed - to some degree - but also wonderful. I did that one 5 times. Very, very different. I'm so glad I saw it. Haven't seen anything since.

He excites me so much 😃
I get it. :)

See i am still thinking about it
I'm now singing Curious, Orange by The Fall in my head.

i tell you what i don't like and that is The Residents... but also there is a indent on mtv and mostly mtv 2 which used this usually past midnight , with a woman on a bike and i hated that back then. And those two blokes , the cartoon drawings that blew each other up all the time lol @Agonum

Too tired to check this out now. Will try to have a look over the weekend. Wouldn't say I'm particularly into Eastern European tales or even Russian ones, for that matter. I had 2 Russian folk tales in one of my books as a kid (one of them had the Baba Yaga in it and she left a deep impression, lol) but that's about it. But I like fairy / folk tales generally and it's always good to come across something outside the usual suspects. Although, ngl, Alice doesn't do it for me. Not the original version, anyway. Boring. But I will def have a look at this.

But then, you said, 'creepy' and 'unsettling'. Straight away that puts me off. I read the first 6 or 7 Stephen King books. After that I bailed. I can only take so much 'creepy' and 'unsettling'. Although, now I come to think of it, a lot of the images that me and wend post here - wendi especially - are quite creepy and I love those. I mean, that Dunlop tyres advert I posted qualifies as unsettling in my book and yet I adore that thing. I've never forgotten it. Hm ... 🤔

And your comment about children is interesting bc many scholars believe that what we now call fairy tales were never meant for children. And the later forms of many of these stories - the versions we are familiar with - are much more diluted from the originals.

Apex Twin - big NO from me but Tool? omg, love Tool. So now I'm a bit more intrigued. Still will have to wait though. Not looking at it now. I'm now singing Velvet Underground in my head.

I cannot wait till @zinniabooklover annihilates you for this :ROFLMAO:

Oh zin you really supported his art. Well if you feel it. then yeah i am all for the fact sometimes 1, 2 times is not enough
In 1989 he did Heterespective at the Anthony D'Offay gallery and I was lucky enough to get a ticket - only one but he only did 10 shows
He sounds so rare ...that is not the word. Elusive maybe this .

Emotionally wrenching, though.

Absolutely . Oh , Michael is a treasure
I'm now singing Curious, Orange by The Fall in my head.
Now i am curious lol

I buggered up the 1989 show quote
Emotionally wrenching, though.
See , that draws me so much. And he understands emotion too so he puts every ounce of it in his art he is not just going through the motions

I would encourage you to check him out properly but I'm not gonna post any stuff myself. Especially not here. There isn't anything in Michael's story that qualifies as PG13 so I wouldn't advise posting anything you find here.

god, babe, don't think that's going to happen. I have, in fact, died of boredom and am communicating with you from another dimension.

Sorry, @Fuzball no offence but that was lame. OK, full disclosure, I have only watched the first two minutes and will attempt to finish the thing tomorrow but, jeez, those first two minutes. ffs! Is that freakin' it?

Look, @DarylJoel_B posted an excellent, if somewhat violent, Peanuts cartoon YT vid on another thread just recently and I was dying to use it as my response to something utterly crap over here. And ... I couldn't do it. This Alice thing is just not worthy. It's crap but it's not even the right kind of crap.

But, like I said, Fuz, no offence! No, seriously, I'm not meaning to be horrible but this was, um, horrible. The wrong kind of horrible. The boring kind. Did I mention that Alice doesn't do it for me?

I think I've made my point, lol.

EDIT - just fast forwarded through the rest of it. I'm taking the 5th!

@Fuzball IT's a NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
It is a decline and delete . oh my days

It's called "Bring Me The Head of Charlie Brown." A parody cartoon/student film made by Jim Reardon, circa 1986 I believe.

DJ, I was dying to post the thing over here (but it has to be something worthy of it). Then, if anyone complained about it being too full-on with the violence, I was going to brazenly hide behind a teenager and go, 'oh, but it was DJ that originally posted it so you can't have a go at me'. Poor little me! Being led astray by a teenager.

That was going to be my feeble defence, lol.

Don't worry. It doesn't get ABSURDLY violent (and loud as FUCK too) until 1:47. 😁
