im enraptured by the red 'guy' haha
im enraptured !
the comic is so much more feel than any film of it , [ i realise i have seen the film of him in 2007 ]
Comics beat films hands down, for me. You've got text, pictures, energy, action, fabulous storytelling, colour, you get a brain workout if the panels are arranged in a non-traditional way. I'm biased bc film was never a big love for me but give me a good comic any day over a film.

Even with the brilliant Conan movies?

and the best thing. you can hold it !
having said that , yes the energy is really in this . can feel it

See, if you make your points using this lot:

1 - I don't care
2 - they bore me, never really watched them properly so I'm never gonna fully get the point you're making
3 - I don't care
4 - if you don't think comics are culture that's fine but, to me, that's an example of impoverished thinking.
“This lot”?

What is it you don’t care about?

I love comics. My brother is a collector.

Comics to be honest really never got the thing of them. but the stuff you show here @zinniabooklover makes me want a poster of this fker on my wall now haha and that ...yeah red guy . ....
I love characters and character building, I also like skeleton faces and anything Gothic so it would make sense to me that id see comics in that way

It's actually really hard to explain in the abstract. Traditional comics from the 60's and 70's would have the panels laid out very sort of geometrically and you didn't even have to think about how to read them. They followed the Western 'left to right, top to bottom' arrangement. But in the 80's lots of comics, not just the indie ones, the mainstream ones as well, started to get a lot more creative in how they placed the panels on the page and sometimes the order in which you had to read the panels was counter-intuitive. I think we all had a little learning curve period and then we all got used to it but it never, ever felt automatic like the trad layouts.

It's really hard to explain. I have no idea what is happening now bc I don't read comics and I don't know how they handle the layouts with online comics. I can't help thinking that would make it very difficult to do an imaginative layout bc of all the scrolling up and down. But I could be wrong. It's no longer my world.

and the best thing. you can hold it !
There is nothing like the relationship you can have with a comic. Books are awesome, of course. But comics are a whole other thing. Print comics, I mean.

Uhm Conan The Barbarian 1982 is a legendary brilliant film. The score even more so. I'm having goosebumps already.

For @@mjfanatic777 who is feeling poorly. This is a fun thread to read, if you haven't already seen it.

Thank you and yes I have seen it and read it and according to it I am obsessed with MJ. I say that confidently like that a good thing 😭
also I'm doing much better than yesterday! My mom made me tea and I had a very good night's sleep so I'm almost feeling 100% !

I'm sure it is if you like film and you happen to like that type of film. I don't. I've seen many clips of it and I've never felt inspired to watch it properly.

Well online is pointless for that, Reading a kindle yeah it is just not the same. Even with a backlight and all the mod cons - stuff added .. extras its just not ever will be - it.

No, i can imagine babe. Got a few Back to the Future ones,
Books are awesome, of course.
Book/ novel over a film. I have alot of movie tie in books. i was so obsessed with BTTF1 novel. How in depth it showed Marty's character and mindset it started my love for writing and character building.
But comics are a whole other thing.
Yeah indefinitely 🤍
Print comics, I mean.
Oh nothing ever ever beats tangible, on anything - Nothing babe

I can never even remember their name, that's how bored I am by their existence. Hang on ...

... oh, there you go! The Muppets. I can never remember. I sort of move into an alternate time / space dimension whenever I encounter them. Yes, yes, I know loads of people love them and they are stitched into the very fabric of 20th / 21st century popular culture and will endure for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.

They just bore me. They always did.

What is it you don’t care about?
All of it.

I love comics. My brother is a collector.
I sold mine. They take up too much space. But they are awesome.
