i was knackered last night zin so i didnt reply as quick as id liked to this FABULOUS find what:eek: yeah that video of Bunton to me has always been cool did'nt know the history of what might had inspired it though , Soon as i saw your sweet charity i loved that girl and her energy with the dark pony tail straight away!

God i loved that clip!. ooh , taken straight away ..i had a look for the full film but i only saw it in Spanish so settled for a ten min worth of another She sang 2 me , this >

Sweet Charity, one of my all-time faves. Weirdly underrated at the same time as being celebrated. At least, imo.

Yeah, the lead dancer, that's Suzanne Charny. She is hands down one of the best, one of the coolest dancers I have ever seen. I mean, fgs, look at what she's doing with her arms when they are behind her back. 😲 Brilliant choreography, of course, and all the other dancers are also fabulous. The staging, the costumes. But those 3 dance scenes belong entirely to her, imo. That said, gotta give a shout-out to my girl, Chita Rivera who is one of Sweet Charity / Shirley MacClaine's pals in the film. If you haven't checked out the opening number - Hey Big Spender - I can highly recommend it. Even just the song, the arrangement is way more interesting than the Shirley Bassey version.

I am biased, though! It's one of my fave films. And I'm not even much of a film person, really.

I really would love to know if Michael knew the film and what he thought of it. Sammy Davis Jr is brilliant in it. It's a small part but he does a great job.

Crap day yesterday, stayed up far too late (can't blame anyone but me for that, lol), entirely sh*tty day today so far. Do NOT even ask! But I just watched those Sweet Charity dance clips again and that did help. :)

Well, she did but in the spirit of celebration and gratitude, I think. Not in a lazy, 'oh I'm gonna steal bc I have no ideas of my own' sort of way. I think her and the team were just honouring classic stuff from earlier years. I hope so, anyway!

She reminds me of one of m dancers It's the one with the she's all in black , .. spiky idk bodysuit / dress ...there was texture to her dress -she had the pony tail think it was history era or 00s , well it deff wasn't before that -. She had that look

Thanks, for showing the original roots of that. Yes i know the song , and i didnt like the song because don't like the theme of the song or Bassey - but i didn't know origins of it

yeah see i only knew this song from her and i don't like her. So i never really gave it a chance n when it is presented differently it's quite exciting!! 😁

well from what i could see that film is not there but it is in clips , which is good but ive just gone and got it on ebay:D ,yay new discovery babe! bloody amazon prime are useless buggers too haha its currently not available

Yeah this is amazing 2 me because Emma's 'maybe' i was obsessed with for quite a while. & it is one of them songs which i do come back to. Actually both her and Gerri halliwell (kind of liked Geri better) kind of were inspired by broadway in their solo careers ,
