It means you made a mess of something. I'm not sure why a poor old pig is being used in this way, lol. The weirdness of language idioms! Pigs are beautiful. But for some reason, in English, when we've done something in a crappy, sloppy, messed up way we say we've made a pig's ear out of it. Can't tell you the back story since I'm not that interested but that's how it's used. You would only use it in casual language, of course.
