Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' Guitarist, Orianthi, To Release Debut

Introducing Orianthi, the guitar phenomenon who is featured prominently in the upcoming Michael Jackson concert documentary, "This Is It".

Already a renowned musician, Orianthi has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and was discovered by legend Carlos Santana. After playing with artists like Carrie Underwood, ZZ Top, and Prince, she received a MySpace message from Michael Jackson's musical director asking her to audition for his comeback tour. Following a test run with the King of Pop himself, she was selected as his lead guitarist for his O2 arena dates in London - a crowning achievement for the 24 year old from Adelaide, Australia.

Now Orianthi is preparing to release her solo debut album, "Believe", on October 27th. In addition to her talent at guitar, Orianthi has a gorgeous voice and even sang at Michael Jackson's Staples Center memorial service. Even before starting rehearsals for his tour though, she was hard at work writing and recording the album with her band. Believe is full of anthemic rock tracks with a sound reminiscent of Paramore or Evanescence, but entirely Orianthi thanks to her signature shreds and thunderous hooks. Her first single, "According to You" is a catchy tale of an ungrateful boyfriend, featuring a killer guitar solo.

I heard Orianthi's new single on the radio this morning "According to you". I didn't know who i was listening to, but really liked everything about the song. The lyrics were interesting and it had a great, edgy rock feel to it. But then the guitar riff was played 2/3 way through and I thought, wt??? I could only compare it to Slash (and I'm such a HUGE Slash fan). It was AMAZING! At the end of the song I discovered that it was Orianthi. So cool! I can't wait to buy her album now. Her guitar-playing is something else, and she can sing as well! All I can say is WOW!

Everyone just need to wait and see. NO one knows if this is really true.

I know. These reporters are doing a terrible job speculating in one article and then printing another story two weeks later that contradict what they wrote earlier("This Is It" will not we sold as a single). I think I'm just gonna give up on reading the MJ news from gossip sites and just wait for the family & true friends of MJ interviews or just subscribe to A&E newsletters to tell me when the Jackson reality show is coming out.
