From what I understand, according to Damien Shields, "Spike Lee has tweeted a fan in response to questions about the documentary. Lee confirmed that the “Bad 25″ DVD and Blu-ray will be free region, released worldwide and that an extended version WILL be available also."
We'll just keep our eyes peeled

I'll keep my ear to the ground, but being someone who already has the full doc from when I recorded it, what makes me want to go "yeah I'll buy that"? just because it's got Michael on the front doesn't mean I have to go for it.

I really don't see anything wrong in complaining about the way this is being released and what extras may or may not be on the disc (especially if at one time Spike said there would be extra material on the thing).

Yes, it's lovely it's going to be released, but still.

I agree. - I am very happy it is released on Blu-Ray - BUT I am VERY disappointed there will be no extra material and I am VERY sad that if it is only sold on MJ.com it will not reach the general public. It is such a great doc so everyone, not only diehard fans, needs to see it!


Sad it is not sold in stores - would have appealed to many more people! :(


I will buy it and I will enjoy it very much, but I am sad at the same time about the things stated above.

^^Everyone complains, but it is the way the complaining is done. Saying "they should have shown more coverage of Michael writing/producing songs" is much different, because some already saw the 2 hours and notice that the documentary fails in this area. However, it is the other type that is getting out of hand where you lament before you have all the information from official channels, & going on & on about it & giving it more importance than the total value that one can get from the project as a whole.

If Spike says there will be extras, it could be that Spike's idea was interviews and footage with the extras. Now we do not know if someone else made a decision about what exactly goes on the dvd. It could be they took what Spike gave them, and held off on the extras. So Spike could think that everything he complied will be on the dvd. We don't have more information on what decision was made & why, so we can't blame Spike. He was hired to do a documentary and he did it.

Here Spike Lee said that there will be another hour of footage in the DVD:


Around 0:38. That is a film festival so I'm sure it was the full version. If I remember right he said that at the London Q&A too.

Other than additional studio footage or maybe a few more behind the scenes clips, can anyone tell me what they're expecting as bonus footage? Because I'm lost.

I would love to see the full studio sessions for IJCSLY and JGF edited into two music videos. IJCSLY was already planned to be released as one so why not estate?

Although the Documentary isn't listed on Amazon, there is a Amazon purchase link on MichaelJackson.com where you can purchase the Documentary through your Amamzon Account. I hope that helps .

Would Amazon be handling the delivery? Because that's my main problem with the Michael Jackson website.

I'm not sure but they probably are sent from MyPlay Direct, I Really haven't had any prob with delivery from them in a long time In fact I got my BAD 25 collector case in 3 days. I know they have stated a while back they have fixed probs they were having with deliveries. I check and see if it says on the site

I just ordered it (via Mike's official site) and the store noted that it'll be shipped via UPS. I wish Amazon was going to handle the delivery, because they usually use the USPS and I have items mailed to my PO box instead of my apt. I don't like orders being left on my doorstep.

Luckily the time frame it's due to be delivered (July 2-4) will be around the holiday and I'll be off from work.

Thanks. :) It took a while for me to receive my Bad 25 package when I ordered from the MJ website, and Amazon has always been reliable. I've never had a problem with them, so I trust them more.

Ya, rly!

It would be neat to expand on footage we only saw pieces of.

It really isn't a big hastle to have gotten this stuff together (even more so since the hard part was Spikes team digging around for stuff to use from the vaults has already been done!).

I'd love more b-roll stuff from Speed Demon and Leave Me Alone videos.

But yes, if nothing else, IJCSLY video would be neat.

That is my problem with them too--delivery & informing the customer when they run out. They had me waiting way past delivery date and had no idea that they should send me an e-mail to say, "stop waiting for that Bad case with the buckles, because we are out of stock."

Thank goodness I already had the dvd set, but I thought it would be cool to have that case.

LOL. MJ's official website JUST mailed me sayin theyre sorry because the shirt I ordered 4 months ago is out of stock. Good they mailed, I had totally forgotten.

I really do hope itll come in stores, i still have this little hope they change their plans if its already official itll be available online only. Sigh

I'm sure that it will also end up on iTunes for digital download as well at some point.

I told you there will be no big promotion and whatsoever....

I think it may be because BAD 25 didn't reach the success level they hoped for
