Spike Lee BAD 25 Documentary- DVD / Blu Ray [available on iTunes Nov 19]

How does Mariah fit here if she has NOTHING to do with this? Chris Brown fits better IMO.The only connection is a cover...and Mottola. At least Brown looks up to Michael.

Seeing that Spike Lee interviewed Mariah Carey yesterday, I don't think the documentary is complete

They can start cutting/editing even if they are not done filming. Most movie trailers comes out nowadays when they still shooting. Bond is an example.

Didn't Spike Lee sent first cut to Sony US headquarters for viewing?
Maybe Damien Shields, person who wrote that post, was thinking that it is completed then?

This documentary is about the 25th anniversary of BAD. Simple
There is plenty of scope for including interviews with arists who were/are inspired by MJ in general and by the 'BAD' album specifically.
Bieber, Brown and Mariah all fit within that description so please stop criticising the decision to include them.
As Ivy said, this documentary is NOT finished is Lee is still filming interviews, although we know the first cut has been made. Spike obviously couldn't get Mariah earlier and is intending to add her to the final cut. Don't forget he will no doubt need to edit some stuff out of the first cut as well as add new stuff too. He's just making sure he's got enough material, which is a good thing.

Michael and Mariah were friends. Michael was a close friend of Mariah during her divorce with 'Devil' Mottola. She even sang at the MJ & Friends concert in Seol back in '99. She was also in What More Can I Give and whatnot. Oh and she too looks up to Michael, obviously.

I doubt Michael even knew who Chris Brown was, let alone them having an actual connection on a personal level. Same goes for that Beever kid.

So yeah, having Mariah, who worked with Michael and was a friend of his, in the documentary is way more relevant than having those two pricks in it, or any other people Michael never even met.

He knew Chris Brown. Michael said in the 2007 Ebony-IV asked about young artists.

"Chris Brown is wonderful".

Chris Brown also made the Thriller-Tribute in the 2006 London Music-awards and after Michael`s "We are the world"-song you can see Chris Brown on stage when he gives Michael a hug.

Can you imagine what it wd be like to rummage through mj's film archives - some people have great jobs. Rare, never before seen footage from presumably the bad era - so looking forward to this doc.

soooooooooo sick of the beiber hate. the kid has done NOTHING wrong as far as i'm concerned and i'm ashamed of the the way some mj fans behave regarding him.
Cant wait for this doco tho. My bet is on a TV release prior to BAD25 and then DVD release of the doc too. i dont want to get my hopes too high by expecting much new mj footage but...yay!

Yes, some people have great jobs.Hopefully they are not MJ fans , they'll drooling all over the tapes and ruining them :D

^ Those extracts were interesting - yes you tend to belive these stories of collaborations if the person mentions them whilst mj was still here. MJ was always so polite and diplomatic though, he would hate to say no to someone who looked up to him, so it prob wd be a case of 'don't call me, i'll call you'. What i liked about mj, as opposed to someone like madonna. is that whilst he was v competitive with his peers, he always seemed to be appreciative of and kind to the younger genration who were coming up and using him for inspiration like timberlake and usher. I'm sure he would have been the same towards beiber.

Are you sure about that? Spike Lee tweeted yesterday that they are still in the editing process and have a lot of work to do.

If it's all about Michael then I fine with it and looking forward to seeing it. Mariah and Chris supported Michael when he was here and spent time with him. I am not going to judge anything. I just want this to be great and positive about Michael.

It seems some people think that this documentary should only include the people who worked on the BAD album with Michael. Clearly though that is not the direct aim Spike's going for. This documentary to me seems as though it will include those that worked on the album, as well as those who were firends or who were influenced by MJ. That being said, I think this will be a must see presentation.

P.S. Just don't have LaToya participating in this, thats all I ask.
