Lauren Conrad Excited To Present AT MTV VMA's

The 2008 MTV VMA's are right around the corner and all of tinsel town is buzzing about the big show and what surprises MTV may or may not have up their sleeves.

So far we hear Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and Michael Phelps will be making cameos.

"I’m going and I’m presenting and I’m really excited. I just got my dress today,” Lauren Conrad gushed to Hollyscoop.

Who is she excited to see? "Michael Jackson! When do you get to see that?" Good point! This year the VMA's definitely have a lot of big names attending. Who are you excited to see?

God damn I hope Michael doesn't appear on this show. They're running some ridiculous show right now about Britney Spears and they're going on about Michael "making the mistake" of thinking he was getting an award in 2002. Fu** these bastards. They continue to LIE about this and it makes me sick. Especially when so many people are too lazy to figure out the truth on the matter and just believe whatever the hell they hear.

yeah someone had a screen capture of MTV's website before the 2002 show and then after, and it said in the one prior he was being presented that award. i dont remember who had the screen capture. if anyone here has it and could post it, that would be cool. thanx!

How awesome would it be if Michael shocked us all and showed up.

I honestly don't care that it's the now bullsh** channel MTV...as long they don't pull any stunts and try to humiliate Michael...I just want to see him again! Doing something in relation to music!

I wouldn't care if he showed up in the audience, sent a video message, performed, presented an award...I'd even take someone doing a tribute to him lol.

I just feel like this would be the perfect time for him to make an appearance. The time is right! I mean what if he did a duet with Akon? How awesome would that be?!

I know about one girl who did it, i'll ask her if she still have them...
anyway, i think it doesn't matter. it was like 6 years ago, things change.
and MJ needs MTV as much as they need him, so if you think he shouldn't appear in any of the channel events think again...
if MJ will grudge they will too, and you want to see his new music videos non stop on that channel... don't you?

Well if MTV actually played music videos, maybe that argument would fly. But the only time they play music videos is at 4 in the morning and they don't even do that much anymore.

These days you'd have to watch MTV Hits or Jams where they only play music videos.

the whole point in the rumor is to get people to watch so that IF he shows, u'll see it. if he doesn't, u can bitch about it th enext day.

y do fans do this for every friggin award show when mj rarely goes on them? sorry but the vma/nsuck and bet/james brown things were just flukes. just set ur dvr, vcr and whatever lmnopthing u use to record and record it, if he's on, then watch it, if not, erase it.

Every single award show there is always use Michael's name to get ratings. Haven't you guys noticed that? No matter what award show it is, ther eis always the "Michael Jackson will be there...or MIGHT be there"....it's just to get more people to watch. MJ should get paid for the use of his name to promote all these award shows.

Live on Much more Music Channel 24 canadian TV im watching and the big rumor on the red carpet is that Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson are going to be attending together.
Take it with a Pinch of salt though as ALWAYS these shows like to mention big names to get ratings.
Im watching Live anyway and gonna keep my eyes peeled!!

I'm watching the red carpet live on MTV and nobody said anything like that. Nobody even mentioned Michael so far.

When it came back from a commerical break it went to the Much Music headquaters and the Blonde lady said that the rumor from the red carpet is that "Mj and Janet may be attending together".
Im only typing what they are saying whether he arrives is another case!!!!
BTW are you watching channel 24 much more music( Canada)?????

Yes, I noticed it a long time ago. I doubt if Michael will ever show up on the MTV awards. Grammies, AMAs, BET, yes. But MTV....I doubt it. He doesn't need them at all. He is Michael Jackson. Able to pull in 30 mil viewers without one single performance. The desire of sponsors all over the country. I think what he should do is the Superbowl next year. Now that would be a show.

This appears to be the one posted on the MTV site after the show aired, though. But Pompous Git also made mention that he was aware of adverts, prior to the show airing, that spoke of MJ receiving this same "unprecedented" award.

Rihanna's Disturbia kinda reminds me of Thriller a bit. And Britney's opening wasn't that impressive, she didnt even sing. Maybe she will do something later? As for Michael...def not there lol
