^That's a sweet one, Summer.
Dance like nobody is watching ( this isnt from the site LOL its from
a fortune cookie I opened recently when I bought chinese food)
Okay, get the popcorn out. Here comes another long queen g story. But it is a true story.
I do that; I dance like nobody is watching but it had gotten me in trouble.
I normally don't dance in front of people and I have been in very few situations where dancing is going on anyway....but...twice I have attended employee parties where there was dancng. These two situations were ten years apart...I thought the first time it was a a very strange fluke. But, in both times I was just sitting there because the music didn't move me, I can only take so much of YMCA, with everybody hopping up and down in unison. Hehe. So, in both these situations, someone came over to me and said, "What will it take to get you to dance too, we don't want you sitting here." So I groaned and said maybe something with more sub-beats going on ...oh dear... if you really want me to. I think the first time they put on a Gloria Estefan song and the second time, when it happened ten years later, a Donna Summer song. Anyway, both times they came up with something with rhythms I could enjoy dancing to. So I said, "Okay."
So I got up and did my thing which is
dancing like nobody is watching and at some point, both times, I looked around and everyone had stopped dancing and had formed a circle around me and were cheering and clapping in time with the music. I was like....OH MY! This is embarassing...what happened here? It was so strange of a thing to me the first time, which was at a work party when I was about 31...and then ten years later, it happened again! The same way. And that second time I hadn't danced to secular music for about ten years, since that last tme. Sooooooo strange. *laughs*
So I don't dance in public....obviously I must dance like a maniac!!!! I just mind my own business and dance in my garage with the all doors shut ALL alone. And I'm a happy camper.
Oh, silly memories. How they come back to haunt you when you get older.
Today's fortune: Mind your own business when you're dancing. Haha.
