On the 29th of September 2009 I ordered “The Official Michael Jackson Opus” through your website and received the following order number: ..................
Although the Opus Media Group promised to deliver the Opus before Christmas, I just recently received it. This was a bit disappointing, but since the Opus Media Group promised to sent a limited edition Nate Giorgio print to make up for this, I appreciate the efforts taken to solve this problem, even though I still have to receive the print. The delay was a bit disappointing but on the other hand at a first glance it seemed worth the wait. But taking a closer look at the Opus, I’m sorry to say that the quality of it is really disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, if the publication was presented to me in mint condition I would be a happy customer. But things turned out differently. And there are quite a few quality issues.
Since Opuses are promoted as “The most luxurious publications ever created” and “The Official Michael Jackson Opus” should be “the definitive publication about the King of Pop” I was expecting the most beautiful book quality wise I’ve ever seen. Although it looks like the Opus Media Group tried to achieve that, I was confronted with the following problems:
- On the bottom of the front of the protective clamshell case there are smudges of ink that are not part of the Nate Giorgio drawing.
- The red lining of the protective clamshell case isn’t glued properly.
- The hand-bound black leather has a few little holes in the front of the Opus.
- Almost all the pages that contain pitch black printing show white spots as if the ink didn’t dry properly.
- Page 179 shows a large stripe.
- Page 179 is also seriously damaged.
- Page 180, as being the other side of page 179 therefore is also seriously damaged.
- Pages 192 and 193 are seriously damaged because the pages sticked together.
- Page 263 shows striping.
- Page 384 shows some spots.
- The Opus reality card that should’ve been included is missing.
- The Opus has been advertised with two gloves that should’ve been included since it is impossible to handle a book of this size and weight with the one glove included.
- The Opus contains some serious factual content errors. (Of course I realize in this stadium there’s nothing that can be done to correct this)
If it is necessary I’m willing to take some pictures of the abovementioned quality issues which I can sent you by e-mail.
Since the book is advertised as the most luxurious publication and considering the price I paid, It seems reasonable that the Opus Media Group arranges a exchange of Opuses so I can enjoy “The Official Michael Jackson Opus” in its full quality as intended and pictured by the Opus Media Group.
Thank you for your time. I would like to hear from you in the near future.
Kind Regards,
It has been quite a disappointing experience for me. Can't imagine how you guys that haven't even received the Opus yet must feel. I sure hope yours isn't damaged in any way. Unfortunately, mine is. Therefore I sent the following message to Andy and the customer service.
As soon as I receive a reply, I will update you guys througth this forum. I'm affraid it's gonna take a few months though.
Great email, hopefully thay get back soon,im thinking i better open my opus nd check it,just finding it so hard xoxo
Maybe you can let someone else check it for production errors if you don't feel comfortable at looking through it just now. I think it is wise to see if it's in mint condition, so you can complain not too long after you received the Opus. There are a lot of people that are confronted with quality issues. Let's hope you're not one of them.
Ya i will do,i have had it just before xmas it properly will be my one as well hun,i have alot of bad luck,so do u think thay will send u another one?? xoxo
Let's hope luck is coming your way with this Opus than! I don't know if they will.. They have to, since they simpy didn't live up to their promises. Considering the status they give themselve, they suppose to have good customer service. We'll wait in see. Good luck to you!

No single news about my Opus yet!!!!!! NOTHING AT ALL!!!!
I don't know if this is a cultural issue, for I am not English so my manners might be different, but this feels so rude to me. Honestly, this makes me feel so bad. Being ignored like this is really something rude according to my manners, so I just don't know what to think.
I am leaving in two days, I should have received that book almost 2 months ago and yet... nothing!! Is it just me or this is really rude?
At this point I think I am shocked by this rude behaviour... this is so unexpected!

PCR, it's not just you. This kind of customer service isn't acceptable in the U.S. any more than it is in South America or anywhere else in the world.
It seems obvious to me that Opus shouldn't have tried so hard to rush these books out before Christmas. Now they're really up s*** creek since they're going to have to deal with returns/exchanges on top of handling complaints about promises that they (Opus) should have stuck to in the first place. Not good.
