Dammit, beacuse of DHL price for the book for me would be twice higher :( I wish I knew it before I ordered it :( There is slight chance that I will not pay this over amount if DHL gets "post office "status in my country (there are reports that they might get it) I so hope!!

it's very cheap imo, an opus normally sells for around 2000$, yeah i know it's ridiculous, but just look at the other opus books on the website, it's very exclusive. It says that this is a special price for the pre order only, so just imaging how much it's gonna cost when it's just at the opus stores and no where else.

This has probably been covered but despite the cost it looks amazing - we printedout the picture as instructed and the way the video plays is like something out of Harry Potter! Freaky or what? Has anyone else on her tried it????? Amazing! And the glove is there purely for decoration I'm sure! I so want this - will have to do one of those "Oh yeah, it's old, been in my wardrobe for months" kinda jobs! lol

my friend has the vivenne westood and that came with gloves and to be honest I didnt realise is was on opus and my goodness me just looked at it last night and it IS AMAZInG.

People talk about art but the clarity of pics in this book is amazing and the smell, the smell is incredible

I guess the price is going up to that amount after publication? I would really like to know what the normal retail price is going to be. Maybe I should contact them about that.

Lololol! No Stacey! I have been thinking on this one for a couple of days and debating whether I can get away with it! Last time he looked he said "bloody hell, I didn't realise you owned so much STUFF!" My reply - "well I don't usually get it all out at once"! Phew...that was close!

My friend does exactly the same thing. She also purchases things which cost quite a bit then tells hubby she got them in a sale for a fiver............lol.

The news that this price is only held until end September has brought forward my plans slightly. I had less time to work on the old man than I thought! Waited til he was in a good mood this afternoon and told him I want the book for Xmas from him and my two girls - then hit him with the price after end September - I just need for the information to settle for a day or two before I work on it again. Have to confess I have quoted a £99 price tag and omitted to mention the £16.95 postage......ooops! But I'm worth it! lol :D

What about the cunning plan of mentioning the book and the fact you think he should buy it because if he doesnt buy it then when it comes to Christmas it could be around the same price as the other opus books and that at this price it is affordable therefore it is far more considerate to mention it now at the special price rather than him stumble across it when the price has gone up and he knows how much you love MJ and he feels he wants to get you the book but at that point the book costs a fortune or perhaps unavailable due to demand and going on ebay for £1,140 - therefore realistically you are saving him a £1,000.

They talk about being high quality and obsessive attention to detail, but would they really flip photos around if that was the case? It's details like that that can take the shine and professionalism away from a product. Sure, most people wouldn't notice but this is predominantly for the fans, and as fans we notice these things. The photos shouldn't be edited or flipped and the details in the text should be accurate. Much better to keep the photo as it should be and arrange the text to suit it IMO.
Anyway, I do still think this will be an incredible item. I can afford to buy one, but I just can't make up my mind whether I should buy one or not. It's a lot of money!

Exactly, if the fans are going to spend that much money on a book, it might as well be perfect!

I've sent them an email asking them to be extra meticulous with this, and also to warn them that as fans, we already know a hell of a lot of MJ pictures, so they need to make sure they do include unseen ones. Or else :evil: (jk). The more messages they get, the better. They need know that this has to be really special. Anyhow, so far they don't seem to be certain they'll even find any of the exclusive content they want to use, so I'm waiting for more info and previews before I decide whether to get it or not.

They have a reputation so I cant see them wanting to compromise it. Plus the latin meaning of the word Opus is what its all about.

My friend has the Vivienne Westwood and she received gloves with it.

Also on ebay there is a Manchester United Opus and it states;

White gloves, which can be used for turning and protecting the pages, are also provided with the Opus.

So I would believe the gloves will come with the book.

Michael Jackson had shown enthusiasm for the book before his death
The only new official Michael Jackson book is being compiled after weeks of legal wrangling. It will include lyrics never seen before, plus drawings and pictures from the singer’s personal archives.

The Michael Jackson Opus will be handbound in leather in a silk clamshell case and is being produced by the team behind several other Opus books, including one on Manchester United that changed hands this year for £1 million, making it the most expensive sports publication on record.

Plans to publish the book began before Jackson died. Last week a judge in Los Angeles ruled that the project could go ahead and a team of researchers has now started the huge task of going through his notebooks and boxes, as well as other material associated with him that is scattered around the world, with the agreement of his estate.

The 13in by 18in book is likely to be a huge hit with Jackson fans and will also feature handwritten lyrics that never made it on to any of his albums. The researchers are also hoping to find drawings that he did for his most famous albums, including Thriller.

Finally a good book about Mike.... It's a bit expensive for me but maybe if i put it on my early Christmas list....
Glad it comes with gloves, I'm one of those obsessed ppl that hate having fingerprints on my HQ magazines, books and photos..

Please, can someone clear this up for me - this DHL delivery is DHL Paket International or DHL Express Paket International? It will make big difference to me, because usual packet will be delivered through my country's postal service, but express packet - through DHL office and in latter case I should pay big money overhead.
