i agree i think he is trying to sing in Michael's style,.......................just sooooooooooooo nice to hear mj's voice again though
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Mj sounds no different in phrasing and tone to the Invincible sessions to me. I reckon Akon's imitating MJ. He like upped his game on this one coz Akon never sings this well (imo)
I actually think both of them immitated each other. The first verse MJ sings is Akonish, I was rather shocked at how versatile Mj was to sing like that, but there were places where I was convinced that MJ was singing, I think the first line of the second verse, and I was told thaat it was Akon. Someone even commented on it, that MJ shopuld have sang that part. So, I think that these 2 singers were having a game of copying each other.I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Ah!! Another story that makes me smile! That's just great!I played the song for my children (separately). I asked my eldest child who was singing, and she said "that guy who tries to be MJ who sings "I need ya boo". I said you mean Chris Brown, then I said there are two people so who is it - and she said Chris Brown and Kanye West!! I said it's Michael Jackson and Akon - and she said "OMG that's Michael Jackson - that song is OK but it doesn't really suit him". Then 10 minutes later we were inside and she was humming a tune. I asked her what it was (it was obvious to me what is was), and she smiled and said "It's hold my hand. I've changed my mind about the song now. I like it, and I can't get it out of my head". Now both of the kids are singing it.
^^ Me too! I love it so much. Michael has the voice of an angel. Lord and the lyrics they are so deep, you can hear that he sings with his heart and soul.

If someone is going to upload it, don't write anything about michael jackson in the entire description. Make everything completely non mj related even the video, this way sony has no clue it's there and you can post here and let us watch.
Well if he's trying to sound like Michael, he isn't doing a very good job, lol. He sound's like he's singing in his usual style.
I agree actually- it's pure Michael.Imma have to disagree with both of you. I think Michael's voice and phrasing in HMH resembles "I Can't Help It" from OTW. Have a listen:

They do. :yes:MJ sounds like MJ and Akon sounds like Akon. Their voices just blend well together.

Well if you listen to the first verse, to me, it sound's like Michael is imitating Akon's phrasing. He's been known to copy other singers styles, phrasing and timing scarily well, and I think he does that here. Only it sounds a billion times better then Akon, lol.
Yes, that's what I said as well, that they both immitated each other. They probably did it for fun. When Akon sang, The nights are getting darker' I really thought it was Michael, but people said it was Akon. So I got fooled there. But as you said, both singers have distinct voices and MJ's voice is very clear.I think Akon knew Michael is going to be in some parts of the song, so he imitated Michael (he did it a little on Wbbs08 demo too).in HMH demo Akon sang the song with Two different ways of singing, you can still hear it on "the night are getting darker" thing... and maybe after that Michael "imitated" him:doh: it's not 100% similar.. cause they Really are two different people-_-
maybe not lol but i think it's a possibility.
and yeah Michael does sound a billion times betterunk:
