New MJ content (Possibility)

I am quite sure there will be another great album with unreleased tracks like throwing your life away, etc. Anyway from a marketing perspective they know that Unreleased MJ songs are a limitrd ressource, so they do not release all the best ones at once. I guess another album will come in 3-5 years. They want to keep Michael popular not just in the short term. Even so, I would also be happier if we get more sooner. And still i understand their marketing strategy.

How much songs get released nowadays before the full album drops? This is already the 4th song, how times change!
He’s released one single, Take My Breath. Others have been for other artists.

The Weeknd doesn’t really follow typical pop rules in that he features on many different songs and is always present for the most part now.

What amazes me is that fans on here have *little faith* in Michael's legacy and music, tbh I'm amazed that some fans question the experience of the MJE who now we know is working with Prince MJ on undisclosed *projects* Yes people have questioned many times Michael's innocence but I for one won't!
New projects will come thick and fast on tip of the success of the Mj Musical as I already said and don't be surprised by that!
I think maybe the estate may bring some undiscovered gems out on streaming services to new fans.

If there are someone who have little faith in MJ, then it's The Estate themselves, ironically

Your optimism is admirable, but you are getting let down time, after time, after time. Just like The Estate are missing their chances of any type of real MJ release time, after time, after time.

I have said this many times, I support the projects that the Estate has done since Michael’s passing, except one( those 3 songs on the Michael album). Everything else has contributed to Michael’s legacy and a generation of new fans. Of course, I wish for more output; however, I am not going to sit and whine just because they are not releasing something every month. I appreciate the fact that the MJE has released diverse things that NO OTHER ESTATE has done and those things have been successful so far. I was an early supporter of the MJ musical and continue to hope for its CONTINUED success. I wonder if those naysayers will give credit where credit is due or just sit and whine about
OTHER things or at least acknowledge the success of what HAS been released. IMO, the success of MJ the musical will do more for Michael’s legacy than any remastered video or album. Do I want those things, ALSO? Of course I do. The bottomline for ME is, I will gladly take what the Estate has released THUS FAR, over ANY other Estate. That’s MY opinion. Finally, do I wish for MORE releases? Of course, however, I’m not going to sabotage what IS being released because I don’t get what I want. Some fans think their negativity and SABOTAGE hurts the Estate, it doesn’t ; it hurts Michael and HIS legacy. I don’t know why SOME fans haven’t figured that out by now. SMH🤔

I’ve argued this before and I’ll continue to argue it: “new” projects (meaning new music) don’t do anything for an artist’s legacy. Emphasizing their existing body of work is what keeps them alive. That’s why I’m always calling BS on claims that the Estate “doesn’t care about Michael” because they aren’t feeding us new music every year.

The Broadway show is going to do more for Michael’s career than Xscape or the Wembley concert, even if it isn’t a permanent Broadway fixture. It’s a celebration. It’s a reminder. That’s how you keep an artist in the forefront.

(Make no mistake, though. I still want an album.)
I LOVE this response and agree with it 100%.💕❤️

For purely selfish reasons I am only interested in tracks from the vault and concert releases. Michael’s legacy? None of my concern

Most of us who have been around YEARS(from the beginning) are concerned with Michael’s LEGACY. Most of us could care less about what’s in the vault or concert releases. Don’t get me wrong, we will be ecstatic if or when tracks or footage is released. However, it’s not a priority for me. In MY opinion, Michael’s legacy is much more important than worrying about unreleased material. I am a HUGE supporter of the Xscape album and LOVE it. I hope the Estate comes up with more projects like that.🙏

My local radio station here in Canada plays MJ 5-6 times per day. Other stations also play his music. There has never been a single complaint. Nobody cares about Leaving Neverland. I've been to 5 weddings since, all of which had MJ playing. His music is dominating the charts like never before, his streaming is up, the dude has sold out shows on the Vegas strip and a smash broadway in NYC. His fan base remains large, and LN didn't impact his reputation anywhere near the levels some media characters were projecting.

MJ is like the Christmas, Disney and McDonalds, so embedded into the bedrock of society that no scandal will ever take them down. It's a very rare level any figure/brand can reach. Once you go beyond just "popular" and into the soul of the people, into their memories... it's here to stay.
It’s the same way in my city. I hear Michael played at least 3 times a day. It’s probably much more because I only listen to radio when I am driving to and from work.

I agree 100%. His legacy is much more important than any new releases. How can anyone think it's not?

@Michaels Lover @somewhereinthedark

His legacy is already tarnished... Only a select few people have the ability to change that but then they would tarnish their own reputation if they did.

I'm happy the musical is well received and it will do good for the legacy if you are concerned about that but it is not Michael Jackson on that stage so I simply don't care. Not a single fan would have opted for a musical if the Estate gave us a choice not even if it guaranteed Michael's legacy would be saved. The vast majority is fan because of Michael's work not other people's interpretation of it. So legacy? I don't care. I'd rather see a home movie where Michael sings lullabies for his kids at bedtime than a musical.

I don’t think you understand that the MAJORITY of fans who have been fans of Michael from the beginning DO care about his legacy; not just because we like his music BUT because we care about him as a HUMAN BEING, even more. Most of us care and defend him not only because we like his music, but because we like him. Maybe that’s hard for some people to understand; however, that’s the way I and MILLIONS of other fans feel. It is obvious that we became fans of Michael’s work and not other people’s interpretation. That’s not even debatable. However, a musical does NOT detract from Michael’s work, it enhances it. If Michael were alive, I believe he would support a musical of his music. You may not care about his legacy, but, I dare say the MAJORITY of his fans DO care. Btw, I would love to see a video of Michael singing lullabies to his children when they were young, also. However, there is no way in hell that I would rather have see that than this musical. Let’s not forget that it is the job of an Estate to make money for the person that they are representing. That’s the bottomline for ANY Estate. I think the MJ Estate is doing a wonderful job making money for Michael’s children AND preserving his legacy, while being VERY successful in doing both. I know they have many more projects to unleash and fans can be patient or jump off the bandwagon.

Finally, Michael’s reputation is tarnished, anybody’s reputation would be tarnished with the lies and manipulations that were perpetuated against him. However, the AGENDA of the media and those who perpetuated the scams and lies was to destroy him and erase his legacy. Not only did THEY fail, they failed miserably. No other artist in history would have been able to survive the @#$& that Michael went through and career still be intact. This was a man who SOLD OUT 50 shows in ONE CITY. He did this with fake accusations and the media still lying on him. He did this with no promotion, no new album or project. He did this with his NAME only. He never gave up, and neither will his fans. His legacy is still alive and stronger than ever.😎👏💕

I don't think so. The Wembley concert that is on Youtube will be seen by a lot more people than the Broadway show. Same with Xscape.

MJs legacy is far from tarnished

No one would argue it took a big hit in 2019 but we’re in 2021/2022 now and MJs back up in the charts and breaking records again. Radio is all over him and he’s adding back to channels that dropped him.

It was a small blip that faded. MJ is bigger than some shitty HBO joke of a program.

@somewhereinthedark are you the Estate spokesperson?

Just messing with you :p
If you keep this up you might convince me to share your optimism (y)

I completely agree.

Sure Leaving Neverland did some damage in the short run, but in the long run, it had very little impact on MJ's legacy. At the end of the day, people who believed in MJ's innocence didn't let Leaving Neverland change their opinion. And people who believed that MJ was guilty will always believe that, regardless of Leaving Neverland or not.

MJ's legacy is far from tarnished, like you said. If his legacy survived the events of 93 or 2003-05, then Leaving Neverland is nothing in comparison. MJ is doing better than ever on music charts and with the musical on the way, he will gain more new fans and his legacy will grow even further.

Thriller sold 500,000 units in the US alone this year - higher than 2020. There’s no concern from me about MJs success. One is a sell out, MJ musical was a raging success before covid..

Personally I don't make any hope anymore, BUT the timing seems to fit with The Weeknd's one, as his album is coming soon (I bet its release would be in February or March).
His album comes out on Friday.

The Weeknd’s album drops on Friday and features Quincy Jones. Prob nothing to do with MJ.
