New MJ content (Possibility)

@dam2040 he is not cancelled no but that doesn’t mean a new release wouldn’t be met with negativity and maybe it would even re open the debate about being guily or not guilty. I don’t think the Estate wants to take that chance.

The current musical is very important if we ever want to get something new. If this will be met by rave reviews then it opens up possibilities. Tickets are selling well for now and reviews seem decent but we have to see how it goes in the long run when other people than fans will go and see the show and how they will react to it.

In MJ fan forums LN was huge and devastating.

Out-side MJ circles (at least in Denamrk) I don't really think it was that big a deal.
The press - for once - treated MJ fair and wrote about all the inaccuracy - the trainstation fx. if you was really molested you would of course remember the year - your age - and the place. So to remember clearly and telling in details how it happend - at a place that was not even build yet...

No one can ever believe that story - and my impression is that no one does really... MJ is doing better than ever like Dam2040 wrote above.
So I think a new album could do well and I do not see a big risk of boycut (only by some fans maybe...) so I'll say - BRING IT ON !! Release something please!

Invincible - MJs Death = under 8 Year
Xscape - Today = almost 8 Years in May 2022...

i thought we get more Releases after he passed... we was waiting over 8 Years for A Studio Album...we supported everything - the triall - living neverland... what the hell is so complicated to release some new songs!?

I agree with an above poster here, that the MJ Musical is in a sense the Estate's way of testing the waters again to see how the public respond to MJ-related events and projects. They had a couple projects lined up before LN happened and later the Coronavirus. There are a few songs that were fully reworked at one point but never got released ("Throwing Your Life Away" and "Lovely Way" in 2010, "Hot Fun In The Summertime" in 2014), so I don't think it's impossible that there's been plans for more music here and there that never got off the ground -- be it due to LN or Coronavirus or just plain laziness.

I don't think the Estate is affriad to release new MJ stuff.

They did re-release TDCAU and Heal The World in the covid-19 period. - No bad press, nothing negative.

I know a totally new album might be different and get more attention - but those two remakes were great and I have only seen positive response.

I think the mj musical reviews or pre views answers a lot of what we have been asking will there be new releases? You can bet your life on it there will.
What the estate should do is what has been rumoured sell the shows filmed to overseas once this has had its full debut and more content added even.
From what I'm reading this is what was needed for someone to actually say look I was wrong and apologise to Michael is a little to late! But let's face it if this can make others to go hang on he was only this manchild, nothing wrong about that BTW!
Because now this person not only apologised to Michael in spirit but also to his family and his children.
Imagine if this turns the tide fully with a musical this person even investigated further and realised what we already knew! He was innocent and just wanted people to accept and love ❤ him as devout millions of fans did!
If this can be achieved by a few sell out shows just imagine what a new bio epic movie could do if done correctly!

I truely have great belief that this could really at long last cement Michael as not the weirdo or strange looking person, but be the person who was totally kind, highly talented and loved by millions that he so deserves, to the general public and not just to the many fans.

The thing is they can't tour with this musical for years as the young Michael actor will grow up lol

As seen in BAD 25 and spoke upon a few times, Michael had a film crew shooting 35mm in the studio during the inception of the BAD LP and also even for "fly on the wall" moments such as Todo Mi Amor Eres Tu etc... Something similar to Get Back for the BAD album would be incredible, not forgetting the short films/live shows on 16/35mm film as well as on the road footage, behind the scenes etc. They're sitting on a gold mine - and that's just one era of Michael's career. Sorry for being off topic.
''get back''?

My local radio station here in Canada plays MJ 5-6 times per day. Other stations also play his music. There has never been a single complaint. Nobody cares about Leaving Neverland. I've been to 5 weddings since, all of which had MJ playing. His music is dominating the charts like never before, his streaming is up, the dude has sold out shows on the Vegas strip and a smash broadway in NYC. His fan base remains large, and LN didn't impact his reputation anywhere near the levels some media characters were projecting.

MJ is like the Christmas, Disney and McDonalds, so embedded into the bedrock of society that no scandal will ever take them down. It's a very rare level any figure/brand can reach. Once you go beyond just "popular" and into the soul of the people, into their memories... it's here to stay.

Hi everyone I just wanted to ask is this the real song?Edit:I think like this because it has the same running time as we know, we know that the real song is 5:17 seconds too and the real Bpm is 85 but this one has 86 this makes me think about it.

No the song is not real, Bryan's channel got hacked and someone uploaded this as a joke.

Could the reason for the lack of off the wall outtakes mean most of the songs either ended up on triumph and or destiny?

That's not impossible, considering the "Wondering Who" leak

It's possible there's just less recorded material, or Michael did less vocals (and so most outtakes are just instrumentals)

Or he didn't have enough time to do lots of takes

well... Please don´t say that LN or Covid are the reasons they do nothing... LN was rejected after the court and everybody knows it... Covid is not an excuse too... Just look how many artist release new albums and music despite covid....

“Everybody knows it.” Not everybody. 2019 was objectively a terrible year for MJ, regardless of what streaming says. No company would go within spitting distance of him, and any new release would be drowned out. People need to stop acting like LN didn’t have an immediate (albeit short-lasting) impact.

COVID brought the industry to a screeching halt in 2020. Nearly all major albums and tours were either postponed, canceled altogether, or horrifically underperformed.

Not doing much of anything this year is one thing. But skipping 2019 was the wise decision, and 2020 was bad for everyone. Hopefully the success of the Broadway show will demonstrate that MJ’s legacy is still strong, and it’ll compel something new.

Michael's catalogue is selling very well, Thriller exceptionally so. His monthly listeners on Spotify and views on YouTube are great, I don't think the Estate has any plan, or need to release anything new, the musical and One will bring the money in.
I’ve argued this before and I’ll continue to argue it: “new” projects (meaning new music) don’t do anything for an artist’s legacy. Emphasizing their existing body of work is what keeps them alive. That’s why I’m always calling BS on claims that the Estate “doesn’t care about Michael” because they aren’t feeding us new music every year.

The Broadway show is going to do more for Michael’s career than Xscape or the Wembley concert, even if it isn’t a permanent Broadway fixture. It’s a celebration. It’s a reminder. That’s how you keep an artist in the forefront.

(Make no mistake, though. I still want an album.)

I love how you say that (about new music doing nothing to an artist's legacy), when the show has unreleased music

(Well, technically it was released on Bad 25, but that's after Michael's death, meaning he couldn't approve for sure)

@AlwaysThere
You might be right regarding the musical, I personally never held into account that it could get good reviews, I thought it would get slaughtered. It will most likely bring new interest for Michael from different (younger) people. But they have to take us fans into account as well and not just nurture his legacy, we want new stuff every now and then. Now that I've put that out of the way I'd like to see a Triumph show or two please :p

so the weekend released a single with another deceased artist: aaliyah.

there you got that posthumous 'duet' :p

chances should be close to zero that there's a MJ duet.

How much songs get released nowadays before the full album drops? This is already the 4th song, how times change!
