I think it's probably not going to be useful, or even possible, to "psychoanalyze" Michael in terms of his relationship with his mother? All the Jackson kids had "PR" drilled into them as children, with Motown, and it probably was an almost automatic response, to portray themselves as one big happy family, and an American Dream success story. Those who did NOT portray the family in a positive light, as adults (i.e. LaToya) were pretty much shunned by the family until they fell into line again. And so, I doubt that Michael's public statements about his mother actually match what he was really thinking and feeling? He DID keep some things private, you know?
I'm sure he KNEW his mother was passing money to the rest of the siblings, and he chose to stay out of it and let her do what she would do? The same thing is happening now, of course -- a whole line of unemployed Jacksons standing around KJ, hands OUT!
I do feel that the fans now have enough info to make their own judgments, regardless of what Michael thought, and how he'd worked out the tragedy of having an abusive father, and a mother who didn't, or couldn't, stop the abuse. Now, there is a string of shady and FAILED projects by the Jacksons (and we do know what those are), all of them attempting to use Michael as an ATM machine, even after death. There's been everything from a coffee-table book, to perfume (ACKKK), to a "tribute" concert that degenerated into some sort of ill-fated comedy routine (beginning with the KISS faisco). And more, and more, all using "Michael's name and image," most likely ILLEGALLY. The Estate has shown a lot of self-restraint, actually, for not going after Katherine, TOTALLY. The family uses her to spearhead these projects, and she, in turn, uses Michael's children, as possible. A VERY dysfunctional family dynamic, and we know it well by now.
The decision about Murray and reparations is the final straw, for many, who still might have harbored trust, respect, and good-will toward Katherine -- as having the best intentions about Michael's legacy, and protecting his children from EVIL and harm. There are NO illusions now, for most of us. I do hope that the family KNOWS how disgusted almost all fans really are right now. Even though, fan opinion seems to do nothing to slow them down?
I expect the AEG lawsuit will be a FAIL. Joe seems to have lost his (idiotic) attorney, for his own lawsuit. The manufacturer of his so-called "perfume" seems to have gone into hiding. There are lawsuits generated by the failed tribute concert. Ongoing lawsuit about the ill-fated "charity," that seems to involve Jacksons on the Board of Directors (with salaries, I'd assume?) There is Paris' "acting career" (not going to go there, bless her heart), where she should have been "A-List" all the way, and not involved with someone unknown, and who apparently does not have funding for the project.
Eventually, I hope ALL these projects will go away? Quietly, and permanently. But even if they do? Murray now has carte blanche to slander Michael's name, as long as he shall live. The children will NEVER be free of that.
Good JOB, Jacksons! (NOT!!!!!!!!)
As far as I'm concerned, the Jacksons have RIPPED it, and there are no illusions anymore, about them. Including about the so-called matriarch, who threw her son under the bus, and by association, his own children.
