Re: Monster - The Great Debate

God I'm just listening to Monster on Spotify to remind myself how disgusting it is. The ridiculous high note at 3.50 where he sings 'Say you wanna be a starrrr...' - people are claiming that that is Michael Jackson? Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable.

I tell you what... find me one track in the whole of Michael Jackson's incredible VAST back catalogue that sounds ANYTHING like that and I'll stop posting.

I know , right? For a week or two i haven't visited any of these threads but today i did, and i found some of those new comparisons on Youtube. And i didn't think it was possible, but it did..my jaw dropped even further than before. Certain parts where you simply start to laugh because you can't believe people actually think that's MJ singing it...but they DO!!!! Oh my......

i know. it's quite sad sony has to drag down the standard that michael set so high in his life in order to fit into today's music scene.

whose music tops the chart these days? katy perry? rihanna? kesha? justin bieber?

Very very sad indeed. Just like how Hollywood Tonight has been butchered. Unless Michael really wanted this autotuned himself(which i doubt) this should have never happened, his vocals are always incredible, if ONE voice doesn't need autotuned it's Michaels...sigh.

yeah, that bit you are talking about at 3:50 there is no way that's him, it suggests he was onto the addlibs stage if that was really him, like hell he was or they wouldn't need to post in other addlibbs from old tracks. Not only the vocals but i actually believe the music and the whole works is totally fake and all 100% created after june 25th. Michael may well have recorded some stuff there, as it's said, but i don't believe this is that stuff. It's a shame people are saying this is there favorite song on the album, which they can do it's their opinion, but songs like hollywood tonight, BOJ etc are far stronger compositions, and are in the same musical style as the MJ classics that changed the world, but people prefer these boy band style songs out of the album, oh dear...........

Yeah i can't believe it how people are loving Monster so much. Out of all three Cascio tracks i think this is the biggest giveaway of being a fake-ass song. And indeed...the vocals and overal song is very very boyband-ish, the way the lyrics are sung and the lyrics themselves too, what shit is this? Jeez.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

The production is nearly identical. The vocals are nearly identical. And anyone who claims otherwise is lying through their teeth. They were recorded during the same session and sound like two songs recorded by the same man.

But you can listen to 'Monster' and dance around listening to the 'King of Pop' once again. Or Jason Malachi, as I call him.

Wow!
However 2000 watts and Shout sound nothing the same.

I posted that link a page or two back, and some people actually said they didn't hear the similarities. I guess it'll always be like that, it can be so crystal clear, but some folks will always deny it and simply say 'it sounds alittle similar' .

This is a good one too...listen to the vocals, so clearly NOT Michael, oh my.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

Since this is thread is about Monste,r I'll post this - This is the best Monster comparison IMO:

Even the backing vocals on Monster and Let Me Go sounds the same.

Here is another one on Monster compared with Let Me Go:

These Morphios videos are completely damning, in my opinion. COMPLETELY damning.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

if Malachi wanted to sound like MJ...he would have done a better Job

that's why i think it's MJ on the leads...at least.

the only guy who can try to not sound like MJ on a MJ track ...is Michael Jackson.

He did it on 2000 watts, Shout, Threatened, Hollywood Tonight....and probably before.

even the verses on Escape are like an experimentation for MJ...

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

How could he do a better job!? This doesn't make any sense anymore. All the songs you're listing up, they all sound like Michael using his rough voice. Nothing new.

Absolutely unbelievable thing to say. That you believe it's Michael Jackson because it doesn't sound like Michael Jackson. Absolutely unbelievable that someone would say that with a straight face.

1) pentum, how can you be a friend of Riley and discuss with him on Twitter if you think that it's Malachi ?

it's not very honest imo.

2) when my family listen a Malachi track : they swear it's MJ. When they hear Monster : they swear it's not him. That's why I think that Malachi could have done a better job.

i'm sorry but he did it on SHOUT at least. He did it also on 2000 watts even if he's more recognizable.

you can't say he never try to sound different. HE DID !

1. I don't know what you mean about "friend". I follow him to catch up with what he tweets.

2. That's really not a good reason to think Malachi could have done a better job, dude. There are so many people who think it's Michael on the Cascio tracks, yet you say Malachi could do a better job? NEH.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

Okay now everyone stop insulting and attacking to other people.

Remember everyone is entitled to their opinion, if you don't agree with them fine but do not and I repeat do not belittle them due to their opinions.

I'm closing the thread temporarily for a cool off period.

thread cleaned

-----------------------

Remember this is a debate - express your opinions in a respectful manner
Be prepared that there will be people who do not think like you - respond to their opinions in a respectful manner
Do not use terms like " I can't believe you say that" , "do you have ears" etc - remember everyone is entitled to their opinions
Do not turn this debate into an argument, keep it civil - know when to say "let's agree to disagree"
Do not post messages that simply say "the songs are real/fake" - this is a debate thread, where everyone stands is quite obvious, you don't need to post it 1000th times
and remember either side doesn't have any hard, undebatable proof - so do not force your opinions to other people as they are the only truth
(ps: what might be proof to you might not be proof for other people so do not push it as such, list them as experiments etc that prove your point).

At no stage on either of those tracks does he sound like a completely different human being. As he, apparently, does on 'Monster'.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

Well it's one thing to say Michael Jackson was experimenting with different styles and approaches... - he obviously was, just listen to his music....

but don't tell me the Cascio vocals are experimental. They are not at all. Bad quality, bad vocal form, bad equipment... can say that... But they are anything but experimental.
Was MJ experimenting with his voice to make it sound worse on a classic, cliche ballad like KYHU or All I Need? What for?

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

oh **** me in the eye
are we still talking about whether they are fake or not
OMG.. and here i thought I could go in here
to find out the latest update
and when Monster is going to be released as single

Of course, that's why it's called "Monster - The Great Debate" thread.

exactly, that experimenting stuff is such a load of rubbish. The only plausible argument i can think of for them, is that he really couldn't be bothered and kind off mumbled the song half heartedly.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

No I said the vocals were weak, not counting the chorus. The chorus sounds amazing. That's just regular MJ with the pitch lowered.

I do however think the "how can we preach" is pretty weak. I think it sounds just like the way he's singing in Breaking News during the verses.

I thin in Mj's later years he was having trouble with the more feminine vocals. I don't think he could hit certain notes or note combinations anymore. You notice that on Invincible all feminine back up vocals were sung by somebody else.

I'm not saying he completely lost his ability to sing the more feminine vocals. I just think he lost some of it. but as far as sounding growly and masculine he still had it completely.

When I listen to Blue Gangster I think he sounds terrible untill he hits the "look what you done to me baby, I can no longer smile baby." From that point forward he sounds incredible. Same on We Already Had Enough. Untill you hit the last couple minutes where he gets raspy, I think his voice sounds actually irritatingly awful. At this point in time he was still in a league of his own. He was still better than anybody else alive. He lost certain abilities and gained new abilities. His voice was simply becoming more masculine in his old age.

I still say his peak in terms of vocal abilities was late 80's and the early 90's though.

you think he sounds "irritatingly awful" on we've had enough?! *brain explodes*

ok. so officially, we are not listening to the same person. i don't care WHAT part of the song you're talking about.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

For those of us that have been on forums etc etc for some years now, do any of you remember when Blue Gangsta (Gangsta, no friend of mine) were leaked, some people didn't believe that was MJ at all? That it was Jason? Or, did Jason cover that song too? I swear I remember some sort of controversy about that song, so I didn't download that song right away because I wasn't sure if it was MJ or not. LOL.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Looong time ago!

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

@KenYeSeeChesss: how can he know his voice if he rarely listens to him?

We were listening to the album. That's how obvious the change was from one song to this song. Plus he has heard enough of MJ's voice in the past years from me playing his older music around the house.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

Michael Jackson never lost any of his vocal ability. He sounded amazing in Invincible. He never struggled with his falsetto. The vocals in Butterflies are among his best.

What about when he does the pitch-finding falsetto at the start of I Just Can't Stop Loving You in TII?
...Thats pretty close.

Re: Monster - The Great Debate

I wonder if Monster's gonna be the next single to be released. If so i hope they do some promoting. The song is off the hook. They played it in the club all this weekend. An all hiphop R&B club. It's a banger.!!!!!!!
