Monday 19th January 2009 :T-Pain Confirms Three Track Collaboration with Michael Jackson

There was a song that leaked awhile back called "Quit Playing". It had Ryon Lovette, T-Pain, and Usher on the track. At the begining, T-Pain says it features Michael Jackson but Michael was nowhere to be found on the track. Regardless, the song was hot. A sure hit. Not sure if this is one of the tracks they worked on but I really hope so. T-Pain produces a lot of crappy songs but every once in a while he actually produces a really good song. I'm glad Michael recorded some tracks with him. I hope "Quit Playing" was one of the songs they worked on.
T-pain is hot and I hope to hear the song. SOrry but no matter what Michael come out with, SOMEBODY is not going to like it as it is with all of us (nothing is loved by everyone); however if MOST people will like it, that is all that will matter in the end. There are some people who did not like Billie Jean, Beat it, WBSS, (and lets not forget some did not think MIchael should have let Q product his albums)etc; however, that did not stop those songs from becoming number one and making Thriller the NUMBER ONE/BEST SELLING album in history. Just wait and see how it sound before judging.

ok somebody please shoot me.

-_-

I understand what you and WBSS21 mean, the idea of T-Pain o MJ's album makes my stomach turn to say the least.
Regardless of whether or not the songs make the cut, that is simply not the sound I would like Michael to be exploring; it's all a fad that goes away in an instant, that sound will be dated in a matter of months and I'm hoping he gives us those timeless pieces that we appreciate the most.

hmmmmmmm....I dont know how I feel about this...
I mean, I'm EXCITED that he is still making music, lol.
but t-pain???!!!
Also, I feel like MJ should be more exclusive and hard for regular acts to work with- like a dream of theirs (that isn't fulfilled yet!)...but that's just me....
Also, I'm a little iffy of t-pains musical sound. His songs just don't scream "classic" to me, lol. But I guess I gotta trust MJ and hope that he pushed t-pain to his musical limits
But, having said all of that.......I'll listen to anything he puts out, lol. And I'm really putting my trust in him on this whole thing!!!lol

oh yeah...and I agree with Daph!!^^^^^

honestly, if Michael makes an album full of T-Pain-like SURE HITS, I will be very disappointed in him.

T-Pain Confirms Three Track Collaboration with Michael Jackson

In a new interview published by CTVglobemedia, it was confirmed that T-Pain worked with Michael Jackson on three different music tracks. On the experience, T-Pain stated: "It was weird when I first saw him because, you know, he's Michael Jackson! And then, after he started talking, he was like a regular cool guy." In October of 2008, T-Pain announced that he had finished two tracks with Michael Jackson, which indicates that the third track may have been recorded between November 2008 and now. Back in 2008, T-Pain announced: "I did two pieces with Michael Jackson, so I'm pretty much done; my list is all checked off... I just worked on [Michael Jackson's] new album. He actually invited me to his house. So I went to his house and it was pretty much that day where we just hung out. I never thought Michael Jackson would ever work with me. He actually sent for me, so that was kind of weird and cool at the same time." Whether or not any of these collaborations will appear on Michael Jackson's forthcoming album is unknown at this time--the same holds true for all collaborations that Michael Jackson has done since 2005.

thanx 4 this, intersting im so geeked now lol

yea as far as that damn auto-tune hopefully its production lol and 1feature @ most cuz i wud hate to have an album full of tpain .

If we're going to compare artists, I like T-Pain more than Akon. T-Pain can make a good song/melody every once in a while. Akon on the other hand just doesn't distinguish himself as much. What I mean is, all of Akon's songs sound the same to me. Both can not sing. I just think T-Pain is a better producer.

Also, I understand that Michael is taking the approach of leaving no stone unturned on this new project, but I don't really like the fact that he might be getting involved with so many people. I liked it back in the old days when he pretty much stuck with one other producer besides himself. I really think he should work with Will.i.am and no one else. Having so many different producers just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. It seems like too many ideas possibly scattered and not making one uniform album. I think this happened with Invincible. It should be a Michael Jackson and Will.i.am produced album.

I wish Michael would make the entire album by himself. Just himself, no one else. I know it's hard but wouldn't that be perfect?

I had never heard of this song 'Stop playin' before and I even on the first listen I really like it. This demo version has gaps where Mike and others are supposed to sing their verses but it is good.
If the TPain and Mike collaborations sound anything like this then I will be extremely happy.

Please tell me this is all a nightmare and not true.

I agree. This is the song I was talking about. If Michael was on this song, it would be even sicker. This is just a demo and the song is hot. Even though it's just a demo, I think this song should prove to people to give T-Pain a chance.

^^^^ Why should I give pop mess like T-pain a chance? Its ridiculous that Michael has even considered working with Neyo, T-pain, Akon etc with his music because his Michael Jackson. His been doing this his whole life. It does not make no sence for him not to be able to do an entire album on his own period.

Would you rather have a track from T-Pain or nothing at all? At the end of the day, I wanna hear Michael Jackson sing, that's all that matters.

Fans need to stop flipping out! T-Pain can come up with a demo and then Michael decides if he likes it or not. At the end of the day, Michael has final say over any track being on the album. Just because T-Pain produced a track, doesn't mean his voice is going to be on it. The demo "Stop Playin" that has leaked has potential to be really good. Michael will receive a demo like that and then put his own spin on it. Like he once said, he'll put it under a microscope and go from there. Give T-Pain a chance. In the end, any song will have Michaels touch on it as the finished product.

Nothing at all.

I rather have a well quality album. Michael should not feel like he has to work with pop acts to make a great album. His already demonstrated that. So you would much rather have a crap album thats okay because Michael is singing on it? I want a good album and if it takes Michael 4 more years to do that on his OWN then I will wait.

oh give me a break, will you? you say that cuz you like T-Pain so you can't go on attacking people for being against him. So you should chill out , it's all just matter of choice! ;)

Wo-ow....it means there really is gonna be a new cd....

...

thanks for the news. looks like TPain's boss legitimized him, by talking to him and calling on him for work, aside from the signing him to publishing.

and as for that crack about Kim being the 'Michael Jackson of world leaders because his people consider him a failure'...well..chalk up one more envious reporter.

lol Mike is not T-Pain's boss. sometimes we really degrade MJ's already massive stance in the industry by acting up and over-doing the whole ATV publishing crate like he's some super industry-decision-making-career-breaking mogul.

i've never seen something so under-yet-over-estimated by different people at the same time.

This is where that unestimation (sp) comes into place. I think it's funny though, it really is. I cannot WAIT till that album comes out...

Agree arxter.

Because he's always been a collaborator. Mike has never in his 40 years of recording music NEVER produced a full record by himself and by this later stage of his career, if he feels comfortable doing this, then hell, I ain't about to waste my time on it. I can decide whether or not I like it or not or whatever or not I'll get to appreciate it. I'm starting to appreciate the album INVINCIBLE is because, like I said, it is a good album and it had moments of greatness in it even if it never matched up to albums in the past. Because I prefer OFF THE WALL and THRILLER over it, doesn't mean that he may or may not do it again. We just don't know what's in Michael's mind though we think we know everything about him, lol. I also think the responses to this has to be because posters are frustrated with hearing other people who are non-MJ fans or who don't like MJ all that much for their own reasons claim why he's not a "musician", why he's not this, why he's not that, and we forget that he is a much better collaborator than he is at his own material. What I mean by that is he'll try to see what sticks in collaborations he do, then he puts out his own stock out and then see what he'll put on the album. For now, we just have to wait. Plus he doesn't even have a recording label now!!!!! And we're b*tching as if we believe SONY will actually be behind this. MJ is still a free agent right now.

Oh I agree. Michael has never done that but I feel if he really wanted to he could OR at least have the main role in the project. He should be doing all the writing if not most at this point. Why is he running to commericial artists for help? I think that Michael is capable of doing the core things, like writing, even producing and making the material. I believe if he wants to work with people why does it have to be mediocrity? I'll support to the fullest but I dont want a generic pop album. I want a well quality album with great music but Michael is going to do whatever he wants. He is a much better collaborator thats why its mind blowing the choices he has for this album but like I said ultimately its what Michael is going to do in the end.

If he wants to do the old way and stick to doing his thing and pushing the pop genre thats fine and his current stuff will be relevant, if he wants to make pop crap just to fit in with the times, his past works will be relevant but the current music wont thats all im saying and alot of people are basing that off of this INCOMING album.

Im not expecting another Thriller or Off the wall... I just want great music, no mess...

I was kinda gonna say something like that, but didn't want to sound like I was ranting. Good post.'m not downing anybody who feels that way about T-Pain, because I feel that way too, but it's just one of those times where u gotta put your trust in Michael. He's no dummie, he's gonna work a producer to do their very best.

i think no matter how much many of us hate it and would love to deny it, T-Pain will go down in history books as one of the influential acts in a musical generation - albeit a generation that is marred by mediocrity. and Mr. Leon Ware put it best when he said:

»This time set deals with not so much your excellence, but how excellent your connects are and how good you are as a business person.«

and Mike himself criticised the current state of the industry by calling it "cookie-cutter". but by all accounts, he seems to be on his third try of using the current mainstream soundscapes and making it his own, following Dangerous and Invincible.

and again, i'm never one to put faith nor prejudge something in this sort of situation, because with experimenting/collaborating or taking risks you can never guess how it'll all pan out.

I understand, mjscarousal. To be honest though, I can't expect that he'll get the same magic that he got with Quincy and Rod and others. Michael's been trying to find new ways to present his music marketing and creative-wise. Lots of artists do that actually, lol. People like George Michael and Stevie Wonder however would patiently record materfial of their own's for years before they even put it out. We know how Stevie's been working since the 1980s, lol. Michael's in that same group though, like I said, I think he just loves to see which collaboration stick. Maybe T-Pain's collabos won't be on his album, maybe two Ne-Yo tracks will be there, maybe there won't be no Akon duet or an Akon production in there, you just don't know what happens with albums as they're in the making-of phase.

Michael did a song with Rockwell and it is now a classic... so please wait for the song b4 judge
Rockwell was Jermaine's brother-in-law so it was kind of a family thing. It was Jermaine who got Mike to sing on the record. Anyway Rockwell was unknown, so nobody knew what he sounded like or what his style was.
