I hear these for Behind the Mask, I filtered the track so that I got something close to an a cappella which allows me to hear things more clearly:

Most of the changes I made are valid, I think. Some dont' make sense, but I don't think the lyrics were done when Michael recorded them, they're sort of demo like in the way lines are unfinished.

Hadn't heard that 'What'cha doing to me boy' before. I thought it was just kind of sounds he made but that's pretty clear now!

There is no "doing" in it. It's "do". And the "me" is just not there. It sounds like: "What'cha do do boaah." Even the last word isn't clearly "boy". Between the what'cha and the boah or whatever that last word is, there are just two short, quick syllables with a short "o" - "do do" or perhaps "do to". No "-ing" and no word with an "e". "What'cha doing to me boy" should be two syllables longer than what we actually hear! It just doesn't fit. (IMO it's indeed just some sound he made.)

And I don't think it's "our love is strong" either. The last words of it are "is true". So something "is true", not "strong". I don't think the first part is "our love", but it's not very clear. To me it sounds more like "I can feel it's true".

I heard "Our love is strong" pretty clearly when I listened, I'll listen to it again here...

I can kind of hear the 'doing' part. I agree that the 'boy' isn't very distinctive, 'boaah'.

It goes by so quickly. I could probably slow it down, but it does sound more like 'true' instead of 'strong', but I can't really tell for sure. :D

I'll just go with it's some sounds that sort of sound like words. ;)
 
You know what I noticed not long ago. That in the first part, just after the sax (you ehar it further down in the song too). It sounds as if between the bass you here a voice humming bow ck ck bow bow. I listened to it with my headphones so I could hear more clear and it sounds like a voice not an instrument. I know Michael recorded his ideas often, just humming a tune. Maybe they reworked that in this song? Or is my imagination going to far hahaha. I thought they might have used it as the lyrics clearly weren't completely finished either. What do you guys think?

Why would MJ sing "what cha doing to me boy" on Best of Joy? Would make more sense if he said girl and not boy.
 
Honestly, I think that part is just gibberish (referring to Best of Joy)...Some mumbling, it sounds like...He clearly didn't finish the song...His demos always have some weird Jacksonese gibberish :D
 
It always sounded like 'what cha doin to me boy' but it doesn't make sense, why would he sing that.....

Just a suggestion, regarding Another Day:

I hear: How will I get through this storm?
instead of: How did I get through this storm?

The second time he says it and onwards, you can hear the "will" better. The first time it indeed sounds like a "did" in normal speed, but if you slow it down you can also clearly hear "will". This ties up with Kravitz's "Storm", where the lyric is also "How will I get..."

Well, maybe you can call it Michaelese, hee hee It''s really "Tahitian" tanned. Michael was incredible at many things, but one thing that wasn't his strong point was his spelling, LOL.:cheeky:

No problem, I especially enjoyed comparing Michael's re-written lyrics to the original ones.
